Sony purposely designed the PS3 to be much more difficult to code because they figured in the long run, they'd be considered to be more technically advanced by doing so.
Bethesda probably didn't care to spend too much time of it because of it.

New Vegas is 3 with a different setting.. 3 is darker has more dungeons etc etc while New Vegas is not that dark and doesn't have so many dungeons... For me both games are great, and while 3 has clearly better atmosphere and maybe immersion, New Vegas has better gameplay mechanics and more content.. Me? I own both games and enjoyed em both, maybe FO 3 abit more

@SpyChicken720 dude i love them both i'm playing fallout 3 as we speak but that still doesn't change the fact that fallout new vegas expanded on the content of fallout 3 thus making it an improvement. the light machine gun alone made me fall inlove because i'm a light machine gun freak! :). also the call of duty style zooming is an improvement. they both have their good and bad that's why i just love them both, just made a new character on fallout 3 trying to be good now :).

one downfall about this game is i didnt ever need to leave the south east corner of the map. i didnt decide the fate of any citys or societys to be honest. just went through the story line. like nv better. plus, i cant JOIN the enclave, which you should have been able to do. go bos or enclave. also, it kinda doesnt make sense to be bad in this game, becuase the overall story and plot line is ultimately a noble cause.
@KingOCleveland Agreed being able to choose whether you want to join The Enclave or Brotherhood of Steel would have made this game so much better. Any ways fingers crossed for Fallout 4!
fallout 3 is a one of a kind game... its the only game i can think of where.. its like you leave you're house and you just dive into the world of fallout and you just dont want to get out and when you finish the game you've felt like you went on a huge journey and you just feel so satisfied.
With some imagination, at least two of the three mentioned @ 6:12 work FOR the game.The washed out colors create a Wasteland that is ever more bleak and unforgiving, and the shorter draw distance could be the effect of nuclear smog and haze.
rates up there as my joint top games. this game is just too good. new vegas was also good..not quite as great as this, but damn. i really hope there will be further fallout in the future. hell ide play 10 more episodes if they just used this engine!
While Fallout 3 is totally awesome game with serious tone and great story, it's the New Vegas which takes the crown as the most fun and engrossing rpg ever made.

I was checking out mods for the pc version and damn! It's like a completely different game. I may buy an Alien-ware high performance computer next week.
new vegas was better for me, but im NOT putting this game down either, it was nothing short of amazing. Borderlands, Fallout 3, and New Vegas= best 200$ ever spent.
for around 200 hours. (I own the PC version and did three playthroughs. First comp was a cheap eh laptop. Second comp was a slightly better but still meh desktop. Third comp was something that ran BF3 on ultra)

@AwesomeCoasters its not really fair to compare a game that came out in 2008 and a game that came out in 2011, when fallout 3 came out in 2008 it was the fucking bee knees, but the combat is strange, the VATS system is the only way they saved the combat system, I found myself relying on VATS maybe too much...... besides that Fallout 3 was insanely epic
Played this one on PC, and bought New Vegas on my PS3, and it crashes like hell, to the point i stopped playing it.. I am thinking of buying fallout 3 again for the xbox which is the better console version.. Will i experience crashes again? Crashes is the only bug i really care for by the way
I'm talking about the stiff-looking combat, which is kind of sterile... and the animations, which make you wonder, is there a stick up these charaters' asses? Compare the way this game moves to the way Killzone 3 moves for instance.
@AwesomeCoasters Ah, well hopefully it will be fixed in Fallout 4 with Bethesda's new engine. It seems to be improving the animations side of things from what I've seen in Skyrim.
If you look at New Vegas not as a sequel, but as an add-on (a really long add-on) then it is great. It's not fair to compare the two. Both were good. I prefer Fallout 3, only because I favor the capitol wasteland environment/ color scheme.

From a rough estimate, I have played this game:
for around 200 hours. (I own the PC version and did three playthroughs. First comp was a cheap eh laptop. Second comp was a slightly better but still meh desktop. Third comp was something that ran BF3 on ultra)

only nit pick in this game is that when you reach a high level it takes about 6 point blank shotgun shells to the head to kill a slaver. Bit annoying

If they plan on making another fallout past new vegas theyb really should consider letting you connect to online servers where you can play the offline stuff online and get help from your friends 'n' all but still put all off the awesomeness of the previous games in :3

@AwesomeCoasters its not really fair to compare a game that came out in 2008 and a game that came out in 2011, when fallout 3 came out in 2008 it was the fucking bee knees, but the combat is strange, the VATS system is the only way they saved the combat system, I found myself relying on VATS maybe too much...... besides that Fallout 3 was insanely epic

Played this one on PC, and bought New Vegas on my PS3, and it crashes like hell, to the point i stopped playing it.. I am thinking of buying fallout 3 again for the xbox which is the better console version.. Will i experience crashes again? Crashes is the only bug i really care for by the way

I'm talking about the stiff-looking combat, which is kind of sterile... and the animations, which make you wonder, is there a stick up these charaters' asses? Compare the way this game moves to the way Killzone 3 moves for instance.

@AwesomeCoasters Ah, well hopefully it will be fixed in Fallout 4 with Bethesda's new engine. It seems to be improving the animations side of things from what I've seen in Skyrim.

This is a same problem I had with Red Dead Redemption, it's just empty.
I mean Fallout 3 is empty in some places too but to me it was more interesting in places and stuff.

If you look at New Vegas not as a sequel, but as an add-on (a really long add-on) then it is great. It's not fair to compare the two. Both were good. I prefer Fallout 3, only because I favor the capitol wasteland environment/ color scheme.

I'm not saying, I'm going to abandon it, because it looks as enjoyable as Oblivion was, just when I have more time.
