i am gabriel and i intend to buy some monitores for a mini studio and i want some imformation about yours ner feald monitors .What test have u purchase with it and how it sound. Are they good?what level of profesional are u?Can i thrust in yours imfo about that speakers?Did u put them on a ffrecventy simulator program ?HOW IT IS REALLY THE EQ?have u a decent treat room where u have do it the tests? Please help me choose the right monitores for 200 buget per pice ...Thanck u +
What software do you have on that laptop? And what do you use for an interface, if any? I think I have that same laptop (HP Pavilion) but I'm having difficulty with my Lexicon Alpha Interface. Too many pops, clicks, hissing in the headphones through the lexicon...any tips?
@jkmac407 I used to use ableton live... now i have a macbook pro and moved over to Logic Express (and I love it) with the HP i had an art acoustic (i think thats their name) noise isolator to stop any hiss and noise from the laptop into the speakers.. with the macbook pro i just plug the speakers directly into the laptop and it's super silent, nothing needed between the laptop and the speakers, its perfect. Oh and did i mention i love logic express?
@jkmac407 I had your problem first of all find out if it is a latency problem, and download DPC Latency checker. If it is a latency problem try turning of the wifi card, and other devices. My problem was the internal wifi card, i now us a usb dongle (it was a driver problem but could not download a new one).
Second, plug your laptop into a unearthed/ungrounded plug(the really old ones).
@Leopardipzg I find that they reduce some of the bass rumble that would be bouncing off the walls from behind the speakers but in all honesty they don't really do that much. Also I like to think that they reduce the boominess for the neighbours but i have no idea how effective they are. My room is square with thin walls and I have mirrored wardrobes so the sound is always bouncing all over the place. I just have them there because they probably don't do any harm :)
hmm that sounds weird... definitely check the dials on the back and all cables and connections. what did u plug the speakers into? a mixer? straight into a laptop? if laptop then i would recommend an isolator
Sorry for bothering again but just a quick question, when I have just one of these monitors plugged in on their own the bass seems alot better then when I have both plugged in, this is the same with both monitors, but when I have them both playing together, the bass doesn't completely disappear, it's still there but just not as strong as when I only have one playing on it's own, is there something I am doing wrong or is this normal? Thanks
@ellis200602 you probably have the speakers out of Phase meaning negative and positive switched somewhere Although rare with a XLR or 1/4 inch input but could be also check to see if you have different settings on the low freq options.
Quick question about the monitors, im looking onto buying a pair and was wandering if they cut the low frequencys, and a descent volume level ? thanks :)
@ellis200602 yes they are wonderful speakers, I've had them for 6 months now and I am very happy. When I make music I always listen at moderate level, but these speakers can get very loud if you crank them. For the average sized room (like 4 metres by 4 metres) they are more than loud enough and they have lots of bass also.
you're right about that: I really don't see the use for SO MUCH machinery nowadays when software and the essential equipment can help you get a professional work out on the streets
so false.... If you use that logic. Every Mac user in America has his/her own studio... Some software and some speakers... Is that a studio? No, dumbasses.
Second, that's a PROJECT studio. With a project studio, an electronic musician can mostly wrap up a track and send it to a label for additional (usually minimal if the artist's a decent engineer) mixing and mastering.
With the software of today being what it is, there's no real need to have a bunch of hardware. More fun to fiddle with real knobs, but you can get the same end result either way.
please tell me what your power to them

in this video only monitors playing ? or you have a separate subwoofer.......

hey you should probably have the speakers angled in toward your listening position. It will create a better deeper sound stage.

What do those isolation pads help in practice? Better sound quality, or is it only to lessen vibrating when you are listening them full blast

Two speakers and a controller is not a studio bro...

Maybe not a top-notch studio, but if you've got the skills and the software, it's close enough.
