you dont really need to use a soldering iron wire tape works well just twist the wires. that is what i did. or just get wire nuts

the point of a controller running VIA USB is supposed to be a wireless controller made out of things that you don't get from a wired controller..... why would you take apart a WIRED controller to make a wireless wired? lolz

i didnt nedd to soder my controller :) i had and rockband guitar than it broke then i cut off the wire on my rb guitar then i wired the controller to the usb then i plug it in and it cant find driver software :(

There is an easier way and the dongle can still be used with an Xbox and a Computer.

All you need is a Male USB end to bare wires snap open the case solder the matching USB wires if memory recalls its red, white, green, black, and yellow isn't used solder to the same points as the normal controller plug apply a little hot glue to add some insurance against pulling and wires jumping leads then just notch out one half of the plastic and your done.

ive been having a bit of trouble with the usb cord itself, i can work with part of the xbo controller fairly well though. the main problem is how tiny the wires are in the usb cable, im using a male and mini-female usb cable, Will it not work with this type?

If you can't solder, just connect the wires using electrical tape. Then, cover the entire thing with electrical tape.
