  • Sheet in,do you look at your telltales

  • Move along, people. No shallows here. Just watch that leeward hull nosing in deeper, deeper, then boom. Crew should have been trapping way aft with the skip.

  • does the trapeze rig brake when this happens???

  • @holdmydill no

  • Surely the skipper standing on the hull like that can't be good for it. I've heard that is a quick way to damage a hobie.

  • @qleyo I'm sure the boat survived this with no issues. typical rookie crew mistake, skipper should be telling the crew where to move if they aren't experienced.

  • Yep. Classic pitchpole.

  • the guy hiking out needs to be as far back as he can get

it keeps the nose up a bit,,less likely to pp

  • Skipper should have been on the tramp, Crew should have come aft. Or if your going to stay there, pop the jib when the lee bow buries..

  • I enjoyed the video, and am not going to be a youtube expert

  • happens all the time on those cats, nothing bad

  • catastrophe= as in hull falling off or rig snaps

  • @JRC808 haha a few years back on my old Hobie 14 it was a fairly windy day and one of my shrouds snapped, the mast fell wripped my sail... not good, but it was a fun day so it was worth it

  • i watched 1 minute and 27 seconds of this video for a pitchpole... its no catastrophe, get over it...

thanks for wasting my time... love from the UK

  • You obiously didnt because at the end they do pitchpole

  • that was pretty noobish, dudes. get back on the tramp/trap and actually hike it!

  • well, its more noobish to stay on the tramp and hike it. you're more stable with both hulls in the water. that way you can get your main blocked up without worrying about flipping.

  • wut's the point in sailing a cat-or any day sailor type boat for that manor- if ur not gonna hike it? sry, i guess i'm just not content with meandering across a lake at 2 knots (i exaggerate, but u get my point...hopefully)

  • yeah i understand you. lol. I do love a good pitchpole every now and again, provided I dont break my finger or whatever.

  • so??

  • jup

  • Crew was too far forward on the trap
