Move along, people. No shallows here. Just watch that leeward hull nosing in deeper, deeper, then boom. Crew should have been trapping way aft with the skip.
@qleyo I'm sure the boat survived this with no issues. typical rookie crew mistake, skipper should be telling the crew where to move if they aren't experienced.
@JRC808 haha a few years back on my old Hobie 14 it was a fairly windy day and one of my shrouds snapped, the mast fell wripped my sail... not good, but it was a fun day so it was worth it
well, its more noobish to stay on the tramp and hike it. you're more stable with both hulls in the water. that way you can get your main blocked up without worrying about flipping.
wut's the point in sailing a cat-or any day sailor type boat for that manor- if ur not gonna hike it? sry, i guess i'm just not content with meandering across a lake at 2 knots (i exaggerate, but u get my point...hopefully)

Surely the skipper standing on the hull like that can't be good for it. I've heard that is a quick way to damage a hobie.

the guy hiking out needs to be as far back as he can get
it keeps the nose up a bit,,less likely to pp

Skipper should have been on the tramp, Crew should have come aft. Or if your going to stay there, pop the jib when the lee bow buries..
