@Bidon45 well basically a 1-point perspective grid like that will always radiate from a vanishing point on the horizon line .. not that I'm really all that sharp on the old perspective drawing :)
@suplaf lol yeah, I just like to see techniques like that used in these speed painting videos, its nice to see people jump back to the basics every now and then, especially if its an artist you admire, because it makes you feel a little bit closer to them in a way, like their level of ability is achievable through technique and practice, and it isn't just some kind of god given magical talent lol.
@Bidon45 I think no matter how good you are, there's always someone better, and I certainly never looked at what I do as if it was something particularly special :)
I know this is photoshop, but which is better at creating art like this adobe photoshop or illustrator...i just got the full cs4 set and want to create art like this....opinions anyone. fuckin brilliant art btw suplaf
Specifically... to get that, massive look and feel, and the techniques and brushes in photoshop you use, Painting metal to make it look real, Effects by hand, and how you drag and create shapes and such and city lights. how they look is wonderful. i must thank you for simply giving me the pleasure of watching the way you do it.
well thanks :) I don't think it's *that* good, but I'd say that learning something about linear and atmospheric perspective would be a good place to start. That'll let you construct a scene. After that, some colour theory, and stuff about light / shadows (though there' not much of that going on in this particular pic). Lighting is usually what brings a scene to life. After THAT, post-processing could be a thing to look into: effects, lens blurs, and such.
What is the name of the first song?

Wow, this is great. To be honest, it's first so long timelapse (20 minutes!) I watched completely. Great drawing. Do you use tablet?
Makos93 1 year ago
@Makos93 yeah, maybe I should've sped it up a bit =)
absolutely use a tablet, I can't do anything without one. Just got a cintiq, in fact, so I'm experimenting with that at the moment.

@suplaf I didn't mean it was too long. It just absorbed me so much I couldn't stop watching it :D
I'm getting Wacom bamboo pen tomorrow, ordered it few days ago. But my skills are nothing compared to yours :p

I like the use of your horizon to make that 1 point perspective grid.

What is that song called with the final fantasy music mixed to a little girl counting?
Bidon45 1 year ago
@Bidon45 that's a Monotonik release by Radix, "counting stars" - it's a free track, should be able to find it on google.

@HotSaucinBoss it's better to use both. Create the image in pieces in Illustrator then composite it in Photoshop.

Also, im not sure some of what the tools and effect your useing, and what they are doing for you.
As i am getting a copy of photoshop in the near future, i need some of this know how, because of love for art and creating things. ^_^
Thanks again for the video.

Mind telling us where we would get this kind of know how to do this?

I'm not sure where to begin, exactly :o) anything specific you were thinking of?
