yep the bluetones captured perfectly the uncertainty of the 1990's the internet was new..new possibilities opening up..then finding that the things that sucked in real life..sucked in the virtual! ..the Rickenbacker guitar takes me back to those opaque days of the mid 90's..how terribly inadequate today's times have become..
We're supporting the singer at The Cockpit, Leeds on March 3rd and can get tickets considerably cheaper than normal door / ticket price. Just send us a PM and we'll sort you out. Hope you like our tracks, see you on the 3rd x
I know we must sound to the teenage generation today the way our redundant parents did- BUT WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE AWESOME MUSIC OF OUR TIME!!!!!
Funny how many people tell stories of break ups when referring to this album. Just split up with my girlfriend yesterday and funnily enough this is the one album that helps balance out all the messed up emotions I'm going through. Criminally underrated, both as an album and a band in general. Quality.
when this album came out, i was involved in a very intense relationship with a girl in nyc. one night we had a huge argument and i left in a huff. i went home and put this cd on repeat and listened to it over and over until i fell asleep. when i awoke the next morning, this song was playing and the lyrics just instantly reminded me of our relationship at the time. unfortunately, we don't see each other much these days (she's married) but this song will always remind of that time in my life...
SNAP.....other way round for me caught up in a messy marriage and fell for a drop dead girl but couldn't do the dirty....thanks to whoever put this on...made me remeber some good and shit stuff but I'll always remember green surrey sun kissed fields when I hear this!
One very underestimated band. They should have been big like Oasis and the like. Man, I was an angry young man ad then there was this girl and then it went wrong and I found I was human and then I heard this song in a bar in Berlin in 1997.

5:20 - 5:24: Does anyone hear a cello here? It's not credited in the liner notes. Hmm..
vitalogy 1 year ago
@vitalogy On either my copy of the album or the tab book there is indeed a cello credited for this song.

@amsterdambob Strangely enough my ex-missus DESPISED this album?

@madcyril77
Only goes to show that The Courteeners song "An Ex is an Ex for a Reason" has a deeper meaning, hahaha!!!
I hope you are better off without the ex-mrs and still enjoy this album!

This was the best song on the first gig I ever went to. Must be 1995 or 96.

This song reminds me of a very intense young man, once upon a time. I gave Mark a bunch of flowers once for writing this one song...
