God the Father can apply Jesus as The Way to anyone He chooses in any way He chooses, and He doesn't need our permission to do so. Babies do not have the mental ability to reject Christ. They would be under God's undeserved grace & mercy. A ref for u would be in 2 Sam 12:16-23. God took David's new born because of David's sin. Once the baby was dead David was fine. David's reason (v23). David knew he would be in heaven w/him. Abortion is still murder.

The bible is clear that God's grace is applied to children who die too young to be held accountable to believe. In fact, MacArthur wrote a book about this: "Safe In the Arms of God."

For there is abundant mercy and grace for anyone who takes part in the murder of these little ones who is truly REPENTANT and goes to God for forgiveness only available through faith in the sacrifice of God's Son Jesus. @TeresaMJ4 As to your concern about aborted babies: Babies most certainly will have God's grace applied to them no matter what the cause of death. The "sting" of responsibility comes to any unrepentant mothers and medical individual's AND those who support them for the murder of those babies.

That age is different for each child because some kids can understand such things earlier than others. God knows when each soul can understand and you can be sure that He will always judge fairly and justly.

They were preacing that on the judgement day Christ will make the ultimate decision. Protestants have no business telling people that they must accept the status quo doctrine or go to Hell. The first non-Catholics were told the exact same thing by the Catholic Church at the close of the middle ages. But even the Catholics changed over time. They have something called "sensus fidelium" which means some beliefs come from the flock itself "sensing the truth" and not from scripture. Theologically, "sensus fidelium" could be said to come from the Holy Ghost.
@MoonMonad The Holy Spirit doesn't contradict Himself. The Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by men as the Spirit gave utterance. So if the sensus fidelium contradicts the Bible, IT IS NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT!
The inpired Word of God written by men was determined by the Catholic Church fathers to consist of 73 books. It still does to this day. The Protestent Reformation came along and they believed the Catholic Church had gone astray. The Protestent Church fathers determined that 7 of those books were apocryphal--not inspired by the Spirit. They were of course told by the Catholic Hierarchy that they would go to hell. So which Bible are you talking about? The one with the 66 books?

Your so called Roman Catholic Church canonized the Bible and then later rejected it as legally binding, stating that the pope's word is final. The Roman Catholic Church did not accept the extra books into its canon until the Council of Trent in A.D. 1546 after Luther had already made his translation. Luther only translated the books that were accepted as authoritative by the early Church. None of the Hebrew manuscripts included these "extra" books.

"There's a wideness in God's mercy" is from a hymn, but Jesus said, "Narrow is the way and few there be who find it." However, read Romans 1:20 and 2:6-16. It's not accepting Jesus or even knowing who Jesus is that will save us. If a tribesman who never hears the name Jesus in his life becomes a law unto himself and lives by his conscience, God will judge him according to that. He will not throw ignorant people into Hell because no Christian missionary ever showed up.

Hi Sharp: the burnings and witch trials etc. are well documented. People like Mac, if they fell into Catholic hands 500 years ago, could have been burned. But, protestants were burning Catholics and other "heretics" too. A well known case is John Calvin having Michael Servetius burned b/c of a dispute over the Trinity. As for hell for everyone (including Mr. Graham) who doesn't believe like you and Mac, go read Romans 5:18, John 12:32, I Cor. 15:32, Col 1:20, Tim. 2:6 and 4:10 and Titus 2:11.

Paul led a life of keeping the laws of God as best as anyone could and yet he was still separated from God and lost , his zeal was all spiritual blindness in fact he persecuted the church and thought he was doing God's will. Just because murdered, aborted babies go to heaven, that fact does not take away the "sting" or horror, or pain, or sin that someone has stopped a heart from beating that God caused to beat. Just as much as if a grown Christian is murdered, we know they are in heaven, but that doesn't take the "sting" out of the act of the murder.

Jesus Is The Way, not the Church, not Christianity, not our denominations, theology, doctrines, ideologies and traditions. The Person of Jesus Is The Way. God the Father can apply Jesus as The Way to anyone He chooses in any way He chooses, and He doesn't need our permission to do so. Some people live their entire lives without having ever heard even the Name of Jesus, let alone His Gospel. But, if God chooses to save them, He may do so. I think you've missed Dr. Graham's point.

Babies do not have the mental ability to reject Christ. They would be under God's undeserved grace & mercy. A ref for u would be in 2 Sam 12:16-23. God took David's new born because of David's sin. Once the baby was dead David was fine. David's reason (v23). David knew he would be in heaven w/him. Abortion is still murder.

For there is abundant mercy and grace for anyone who takes part in the murder of these little ones who is truly REPENTANT and goes to God for forgiveness only available through faith in the sacrifice of God's Son Jesus. That age is different for each child because some kids can understand such things earlier than others. God knows when each soul can understand and you can be sure that He will always judge fairly and justly.

I don't see him as arrogant or proud I think MacArthur is just reminding people that scripture is the only reliable measure by which to judge spiritual matters.
You may not like his style but he's only doing what Jesus did when being reasoned at by people or tempted by his tempters. He uses the written word of God as the final authority on all matters.

Protestants have no business telling people that they must accept the status quo doctrine or go to Hell. The first non-Catholics were told the exact same thing by the Catholic Church at the close of the middle ages. But even the Catholics changed over time. They have something called "sensus fidelium" which means some beliefs come from the flock itself "sensing the truth" and not from scripture. Theologically, "sensus fidelium" could be said to come from the Holy Ghost.

The inpired Word of God written by men was determined by the Catholic Church fathers to consist of 73 books. It still does to this day. The Protestent Reformation came along and they believed the Catholic Church had gone astray. The Protestent Church fathers determined that 7 of those books were apocryphal--not inspired by the Spirit. They were of course told by the Catholic Hierarchy that they would go to hell. So which Bible are you talking about? The one with the 66 books?

The Roman Catholic Church did not accept the extra books into its canon until the Council of Trent in A.D. 1546 after Luther had already made his translation. Luther only translated the books that were accepted as authoritative by the early Church. None of the Hebrew manuscripts included these "extra" books.

"There's a wideness in God's mercy" is from a hymn, but Jesus said, "Narrow is the way and few there be who find it." However, read Romans 1:20 and 2:6-16. It's not accepting Jesus or even knowing who Jesus is that will save us. If a tribesman who never hears the name Jesus in his life becomes a law unto himself and lives by his conscience, God will judge him according to that. He will not throw ignorant people into Hell because no Christian missionary ever showed up.

Graham doesnt believe that ANYONE can come to god through ANY belief. He is saying that those who live righteously despite a lack of exposure to the gospel are rewarded eternal life.
Rom 2:6-7 He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life

Hi Sharp: the burnings and witch trials etc. are well documented. People like Mac, if they fell into Catholic hands 500 years ago, could have been burned. But, protestants were burning Catholics and other "heretics" too. A well known case is John Calvin having Michael Servetius burned b/c of a dispute over the Trinity. As for hell for everyone (including Mr. Graham) who doesn't believe like you and Mac, go read Romans 5:18, John 12:32, I Cor. 15:32, Col 1:20, Tim. 2:6 and 4:10 and Titus 2:11.

@kolainca we are to be like the NOBLE berean's who had the AUDACITY (BOLDNESS) to question probably the greatest apostle..... and paul applauded them for doing so! the problem with todays LUKEWARM church is that many forms of CHURCHIANITY are accepted to the ETERNAL peril of so-called believers. by the way Calvin was a MATERIAL witness for the prosecuters of servetius and even tried to persuade the authorities from using the "burning at the stake" in servetius case. anti-trinitarianism is HERESY

It seems to me you worship the purveyors of doctrine (ie MacArthur) and doctrine itself vs. the Spirit of Truth, God himself. While you have a firm grasp of a very narrow doctrinal interpretation devised by men over the course of 1,700 years, you seem to grasp very little of the heart of the faith - which is love, mercy, kindness, gentleness, openness and acceptance of all in spite of their flaws. You've missed the forest for the trees, my friend!

@k.. you are quite right when you sense that i am narrow minded in the spiritual arena, and it was also that very reason why JESUS was murdered and put on a cross......Jesus stated in john 15:18 "if the world HATES you (true believers in Christ), keep in mind that it HATED me first". we are to contend EARNESTLY for the faith, and be approved workman(discerners) rightly understanding the truths of God. Jesus said the "road is narrow" which implies that "TRUTH" in correct context is narrow as well

@19sharp61 yes and it made wonderful toilet paper.Look again at the point MacArthur was attempting to make in the first place: When Scripture speaks of Christ's "blood," the expression is normally a reference to His sacrificial atoning death, not the actual red and white corpuscles.

@19sharp61: Jesus summarized it all when he said that faith is nothing more or less than loving God and loving your neighbor as yourself. Paul reiterated this truth. This is the truth. I know you cling dearly to your very narrow doctrinal interpretation, and make no mistake, it is only one of many, many interpretations, but the heart of the Gospel is love, mercy and forgiveness -- not man's kind -- but God's kind. Remember I John 4:16. Also, ANYONE who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved

Paul led a life of keeping the laws of God as best as anyone could and yet he was still separated from God and lost , his zeal was all spiritual blindness in fact he persecuted the church and thought he was doing God's will. Paul had to meet Jesus and accept Him in or to be saved and have his darkened mind & soul delivered.

Most modern Evangelical preachers are just preaching from their own form of a darkened mind and when anyone tells them the truth from the Bible they attack them for it. They aren't having any transforming encounter with the living Jesus they just keep going on in their darkness year after year decade after decade poisoning other people with their religious deceptions.

Okay, so those who believe in Jesus, but not explicitly, should readily accept Jesus when they hear of him as he is objectively defined and recorded in the word of God. (e.g. Acts 10 Cornelius) God is faithful to those who have faith in Him, love Him and seek Him.
