I had both versions of the game, DC and GCN versions.

I personally like the DC version much more because the controller isn't as shitty as the Gamecube's. Sorry, but that octagonal gate on the analog sticks make it hard to play a game that requires precise movements like SA.

If you want to play SA2 for a cheap price, get the GCN version, it's common and it's $15 @ Gstop. If you want to play SA2 the way it's meant to be played, get the DC version, even if it's $40+

I just don't like how you could die so easily on the sonic space levels. It's like you accidently have a thumb spasm and suddenly you're falling off of the gravity platform and catch fire as you fall towards the earth. Then you have to start to torturous stage back to the last checkpoint. Then you yell loudly as you lose all of your lives and have to start back at the VERY BEGINNING of the level. And thank you for saying something about the rap music on the knuckles levels. :D

However, because Sony, Microsoft, and the Sonic fans THEMSELVES made SEGA move back the release like a whole year or something. The game was rushed and incomplete.

Because of this SEGA stopped focusing on other characters(disppointing some fans by doing that) Sonic only.

No other characters means no extra gameplay meaning there's no Sonic adventure

Also no Chao because they saw it was drawing attention away from the main game.

Honestly, if they would have kept the graphics and gameplay for their games at this ones level, I would've been happy. i liked this sort of gameplay for sonic better. Unlike sonic unleshed or sonic and the black knight where u just go straight, u can actually go in all directions. Also there is more platforms, and this is more of a birds eye view instead of a first person. Why did they stop making sonic games like this? o yea... sonic the hedgehog 06 (shiver)... o well, i really miss this gameplay, also the chao garden... =(

Thumbs up for me having played 513 hours on this game and having all 180 Emblems, I've replayed the story mode dozens of times. Think about 24 times or soo, and I did it again yesterday.

That for a 10 year old game is just kick-ass.

Definitely brings back memories, took years of on and off playing before I finally got all 180 emblems though. This game really offered a lot to perfectionist's who had to 100% a game and collect everything possible. And the music, well lets just say a lot of time spent on this game might of been spent in the sound test menu lol. All in all, I think this is one of those games anyone should take time to check out and play, certainly won't be disappointed.

I liked this game quite a bit, but you are right about Knuckles levels. They were painfully boring. I,m also, hated not being able to choose a character and stick with it from beginning to end like you could in the first Sonic Adventure. This game does feel more focused than that one, and the horrible sense of direction in the first game is completely gone. I still own the Dreamcast copy

I have not played Sonic Colors, but I heard it was good. Sonic 4 was cool, too, but Sega really played it safe with that one. You can tell that they were trying to make something that people would really like. Nintendo never ruined Sonic games/Sega. The PS2 had more sales then the Dreamcast and it died that way, so you should be blaming Sony. The "story" games (Secret Rings and Black Knight) as well as Sonic Colors were only on Nintendo consoles and those were good. same with the Rush games, Gems Collection, Advance, etc.

@shockadang WTF? Nintendo RUINED Sonic? How? Sega put Adventure 1,2 on the GCN only, and sold very well. If it wasn't for the GBA, there'd be no Sonic Advance games either, or Rush on the DS. Heroes & Shadow aren't usually loved, and were on every console. 06 wasn't on a Nintendo console, and it's the worst in the series. Wii however, Secret Rings, and Colors have fared very well. How did Nintendo ruin Sonic, when all the good in the series in the past 10 yrs, were MADE for Nintendo's consoles?
