they usually lip sync, while the recorded audio plays in the background so they can sing along.

some sing softly along to give the real effect, but more artists don't anymore.  like amy - it's kinda hard to sing when you're just concentrating on your choreographed moves.

this somewhat scares me because what i loved so much about the music she writes is the darkness and how real and powerful it is.
