  • Medicare was always government run. So its silly that she said that washington already controls medicare

  • HMOs control destiny of patients more that government does. Medicare is doing well, and Medicaid fails because doctors won't see 'caid patients. I fail to understand doctors who don't understand that patient panels restricts patient choiuces.

  • Screw you CUNT! You doctors are the leading cause of death and you are lying you fat slut.

Go on a diet fat girl!

  • There is a great solution for physicians to kill this bill. We all stop accepting Medicaire/Medicaid! It is time for us to show the government who is in charge so we will simply cut them out. Private insurace or pay out of pocket will be the only way to pay for healthcare. Suck that Reid!

  • To all American now is the time to buy all the the pills you need for at-least 10 years! as many as you can before they are gone when this bill is past!

  • JB

Have you ever compared the price of drugs in the US to over here? Some instances, they are 50 times dearer for the same product. In the UK, drugs are heavily subsidised (some cases free) and we have enough for everyone. Seeing the doctor as often as we wanna is free. Hospitals stays are free.

I would never put my health in the hands of private firms as their priority is profit; they will always care about their bottom line rather than my well being.

    Watch "Sicko."

  • yeah your one of the few to say there is not a shortage over there. A long wait in line for treatments which can be deadly. In UK also your taxes a very high cause of that. In Canada i have personally witnessed long waits and shortage of drugs. Doctors in UK and Canada make allot less money than they do in the US. USA has too high of a population for it to survive off a socialized medicine health-care. but most of all i don't want cuts from my family's money.

  • JB

GP's (General Practitioners) in the UK earn at least £100,000 ($165,000) pa. It's a very good salary although not as high as one can earn if practising privately.

You're mainly concerned with your family's finances suffering as a consequence of Obama's plans and I understand that. No-one wants their income diminished.

I reiterate, thank your lucky stars that you live comfortably; millions of Americans have no health care and millions more will go bankrupt due to the cost of it.

  • Not bad but in US they can earn allot more and i think after the hard work from medical school to residency i believe they have earned their high pay. I am very concerned about my family and willing to fight for them. more Americans need to learn how to save and make money. Its high for somethings but a person votes for themselves and to their benefit and therefore i will say no and get others to as well even the senates if i get the chance to talk to them.

  • JB

Sure, they can earn a lot more privately but if someone can't live on a 6 figure salary then something is very wrong somewhere.

Besides, what motivates a doctor? Salary or care of his/her patients? I would hope the latter.

You never told me if you've watched "Sicko." Even though when (if) you get around to watching it you'll disagree with it (family circumstance will no doubt taint your views) I'd like you to see what he has to say. It's a very revealing polemic.

  • yeah i watched it but still the more the merrier i think. i would say both things are motivation, we moved from Canada due to pay cuts. Yet i would rather have more than less, so what i am greedy big deal. Doctors care about their patients but a cut show lack of appreciation for them. Money shows appreciation for hard work.

  • JB

Then I guess the bottom line is if you're happy, that's the important thing.

Personally, I would never put my trust in an insurance firm that will always value the bottom line over and above the patient's needs.

Truth of the matter is (apart from the US) that's how the rest of the developed world sees it too. Each to their own, I guess.

  • I just like the fact that when you pay you can immediately be treated with no wait and easier to save your life that way. If i ever had a heart attack, i could get treated and saved immediately and no wait time to risk my life.

  • Are you trying to say that in Canada and the UK, that doctors and emergency personnel make you wait while you die in the lobby waiting in line? I call BS. You should be ashamed of yourself for lying to fill your own agenda.

  • cool

  • better to have a surgery delayed by gov health than denied by big insurance

  • healthcare reform will do exactly what she said plus create shortage of doctors due to huge cuts in pay and drugs since there will be a quota price they can charge and the goverment will take over healthcare and pay very little coverage since 300 million people is allot.

  • JBBlitz

Do you really believe her rhetoric? The only people that profit from health-care (as it stands now in the US) are the greedy HMO's who will always put profits before patients. If they can wriggle outta honouring a claim ("medical losses" - such a sinister euphemism) they will do, kicking people outta the back of ambulances if they can get away with it. Why d'ya think the cost of meds is so absurdly high in the US?

US health care needs serious reform. Watch Michael Moore's "Sicko."

  • personally it would hurt my family side therefore even if part of it is wrong i will say no to this bill, my mom and sister are high paid doctors and i don't want to see cuts on their pay. I would rather pay high for things than it not be there and if the government forces a price quota too low there won't be enough medical supplies for everyone. In time the government will be the only company to compete with a certain low price therefore be the only one in due time.

  • What you're saying is that "I'm alright Jack keep ya hands off my stack!" (famous Pink Floyd lyric.) Of course you don't wanna see your families wealth suffer - neither do the fatcats who run the HMO's & drug companies wanna lose profits & control. Unfortunately your well being & quality of life is at the expense of millions who're not so fortunate to be in your privileged position. UHC is used by every other developed country 'cause it's right & fair. Everyone has a right to health care.

  • This lady is a fucken idiot, there are no real facts backing up what she is saying in this short 1 min video.

  • Also look at the video to the right, one down. And those government run healthcare countries have higher life expectancy, lower obese rate, overall stronger healthier people. Your an extremely greedy, money hungry doctor. Healthcare reform with SAVE LIVES.

  • First of all money hungry doctor lady, the country is UK not England, second of all, my mom needed a serious surgery right away and she got it. I used to not like the USA but now that Obama is in i'm starting to like it again, though i know it's pretty much the same because Obama can't completely fix the shithole bush left behind, spending hundreds of billions on a war we can't win, screwing the economy, and making the world hate America. Plus, "obamacare" doesnt deny private coverage ur greedy.

  • hell no obama must go hell no obama must go

  • To all the people who actually believe this healthcare bill will be free, it's your lucky day, I've got some lovely timeshares in Alaska to sell you!

For all you supporting it, Go read the Health bill HR3962. I GUARANTEE after reading these ten pages: (94, 111, 211, 255, 297,313, 336, 520, 733 and 1174) that you won't support it any longer. This bill will not only FORCE you to insure yourself (meaning you'll be more broke than before the bill!), it's projected to cost 5.5million in jobs.

  • OK Man I'm so sick and Tired of this crap, I read day in and day out about this Heath CARE BILL and I don't understand the people that are for this Bill? A lot of people are not reading and doing there homework on this. This Health Care will NOT BE FREE? Do people not understand that? We will be Taxed up the You know what! And its only going to Heart the Broke. This Health care will coast you 20% of your income and you will be fined $3500 a year if you don't sign up? how is that a good thing?

  • U can not cut Medicare..no way!

    Agreed!

No more big brother! Not on my dime!

  • This doctor does not understand the definition of "health."

With health care reform targeting those who can't afford it, we would have a much healthier, MUCH STRONGER America. Sure, it might take a generation to reap the visible benefits and we have to make sacrifices, but it would be worth it.

You know who doesn't want reform? Wall St. and anyone who listens to and worships right-wing radio & TV--both are corporate-sponsored & only exploit consumers.

  • howd they managed to live longer if they were supposed to wait for a year to get a vital care??

  • Bureaucrats? What about Health Insurance Bureaucrats???

  • Thats right you can feel all the American who have toiled their whole lives without health insurance pulling for us to make this change. Not one child should be without good healthcare and no worker should be either. God bless the people working on our behalf to pass this.

  • I can't believe anyone would vote that comment down.

  • My Father fought in World War 2 and all the insurance companies denied him because he had diabetis.

We are storming the beaches of healthcare reform not only for the living Americans; this fight is for all of those who have fallen before us. All the denied and looked over Americans that aren't with us anymore and gave their lives for this victory.

  • pps - Canada hates their system. It's ineffective, slow, and costly. In fact, they're pushing for a switch back to our current form of healthcare (watch: ObamaCare Yay Or Nay? The Truth About Canada!)

This video is right on the nose and

    ipwnallnubscuzirock is right.

Also, SuperDisser, the reason you pay more taxes than us is primarily because of your healthcare system. (Taxes do increase. They increase more than a few extra bucks and in economic times like this, that's the last thing we need)

  • No one is proposing that we adopt a Canadian style business model of health care. Do your homework before spouting ignorant rumors. It simply is not true. If you don't know the difference between HR 3200 and what Canada has, you are not qualified to talk about it.

  • HR 3200 now contains the "public option" which is government run, socialized health care. It's really not an option, because the bill is designed to force people into the government program, according to the bill, a citizen can't even start a new private insurance plan after 2013. It is socialized healthcare, which is what Canada has.

  • i work in a hospital and what's weird is, all the doctors are for it. the nurses, however age against it. of course, they have a lower level of eductation. *cough*

ps- canada loves their system, stop lieing

  • i don't understand how anyone can consciously defend the idea that healthcare in the U.S is not in shambles. if any of you idiots actually thinks that, work at a pharmacy for a month or so and see how you feel when you have to put back medications on the shelf because some poor old lady does not have the money to pay for her medications because she is in a donut hole with her plan. fuck this is irritating.

  • 1. It's just an option. If you have healthcare you can keep it.

    2. Some health care is better then no health care. Grow some grey matter and get that through your thick skulls. Yes in terms of quality "Obamacare" is not gonna be as good as the private companies but it's better than being thousands in debt.

    3. I'm an Aussie and from what I've been hearing you folks are arguing about healthcare system similar to mine and let me tell you it's much better then paying 3000 dollars for broken leg.

  • 1. It's not an option to pay for it. If you pay taxes, whether you have the public "option" or not, you pay for it.

    2. We already get some healthcare, insurance or not, thanks to a bill Reagan helped pass, where hospitals must treat anyone who comes with an emergency.

    3. You may think your healthcare system is "free" but you are paying an arm and a leg with taxes.

    4. If your from Australia, why in the hell are you concerned about America's healthcare system???

  • 1. There would be no increase in taxes.

    2. Your health system shit doesn't cover anything other then extreme emergencies and even then the charges are a crime.

    3. I'm fine with paying for few extra bucks to pay for some kids broken leg. (You pay less in taxes then I do stfu) I seem to have something you yanks don't seem to care for, fucking empathy.

    4. I'm interested because Australian politics bore me, but with you bastards there always seems to be some scandal that keeps me interested.

  • " There would be no increase in taxes."

Why? I'm an economics major and I'm willing to listen to some logic.

"Your health system shit doesn't cover anything other then extreme emergencies and even then the charges are a crime."

I beg to differ. How the hell would you know. And there are free market solutions to this problem that dont involve the freakin govt.

"I'm fine with paying for few extra bucks to pay for some kids broken leg."

Yeah, its called insurance, and its OPTIONAL.

  • If you listened to the speech your president gave you'd realize his plan would be to cut the fat and overspending on several government projects in order to pay for this plan. Your country needs a new health system because not everyone can afford health insurance.

  • "I seem to have something you yanks don't seem to care for, fucking empathy."

You may have that but you dont have logic to support your outlandish claims that the govt is the only and best soln.

  • You corporate cunt! Say hie to the devil for me!

  • Great comment! Couldn't have said it better myself. Also, I really like the videos you 'favorited,' on your page.

  • The Dems are jumping up and down on this thing. As Obama has said, it does not affect his or his family's healthcare, so what the f---. We have a Prez, his wife, and Chief of Staff all worked up about the country. Why? It's been great to all 3 of them. This tear down thing is crazy...to take the best healthcare in the world and destroy it so we can walk around shoeless like everyone else in the world. Just plain crazy.

  • Skyler has it 100% right. The Health Insurance industry is currently a Government (state and federal) imposed near-monopoly. These companies could not survive operating the way they do in a free market. They would be out-competed in a heartbeat. They only way they survive is through government regulation that curbs competition.

  • Affordable health from market competition? How simple and logical... It must be lies! No mentions of magic costless healthcare anywhere in that statement!

  • Brought to you by the Corporations who profit of our current bloated and failing health care system.

  • Exactly right! Thank you for posting!

  • What a bunch of crap. In Canada, anything life-threatening is treated immediately. I worked as a family doctor in the US for nearly 20 years, and then moved to Canada because I was tired of insurance company bureaucrats telling me what to do. How many patients U.S. patients are denied "cutting edge" treatments in the US because their insurance company has decided it's experimental? Think "Nataline Sarkisyan."

  • You obviously have not been seriously ill or needed an MRI. My daughter's soccer coach hobbled on crutches for 6 months waiting for knee surgery. Another friend's parents used Canadian health care until they were older and needed real care, then they moved to the US.

  • In countries with socialized medicine, patients with renal cancers lack access to cutting-edge interventions and, generally, fare poorly when compared to the United States. For years, we've helped patients from abroad to gain access to quality care here in the USA. For those with rare diseases, socialized medicine is dangerous, because many will die for lack of access to the best care.

  • 2 breast cancer patients - 1 in the US and one in Britain. The one in the US was treated within 5 days and survived - me. The one in Liverpool was sent home to die after delay after delay of treatment - a friend's mother. I NEVER want to lose the right to make health care decisions.

  • shut the F)*# up

  • Why is ok for corporations to FUCKING LIE all the time like this?

  • Keep the Socialist Far Away From Our Health Care!

  • Love this ad..I've worked in critical care for 30 years and see that if Washington interferes you may die needlessly. Right now we have the best care in the world and the only adjustment we need is ATTORNEY reform, and that has been proven to save us billions right off the bat! But Opoopa doesn't want that because he's a lier, I mean lawyer. Lawyers are basically trained to bend, twist, and contort the truth. Our founding fathers warned us not to place a lier, I mean lawyer in the white house

  • What a sickening bunch of shite.

This is disingenuous corporate sponsored fearmongering at its worst. Anyone who has ever experienced the two systems as I have knows full well that the British NHS is by FAR superior to the insurance and pharmaceutical corporation sponsored cash cow that is American medicine. You Yanks are being duped by these criminals every day, and you've got the liars of Fox and evil vermin playing you like dime store ukeleles.

  • Anecdotal evidence. Some people swear by their faith healers too. Which is what you are showing. Faith in the government.

  • just say no to government control healthcare

  • I don't quite understand this ad. Fed and State govs already control health care. They've given monopoly rights drug and medical equipment makers for decades and anything not limited by price is limited by law. That's why nobody can afford medicine without credit and/or insurance- both of which are just parasites taking advantage of the opportunities created by gov interference. It's our fault for electing scumbags to Congress and supporting all their anti-free-market legislation.

  • shes ugly.

  • Problems with this ad:

-The public option is NOT A GOV'T TAKE OVER.

-Bureaucrats already deny care doctors provide--insurance company bureaucrats, that is. And that's the point of reform.

-Health care NEEDS to be rationed. Not everything can be covered by insurance.

-The point of reform is to INCREASE choices and IMPROVE quality of care.

-Medicare is going bankrupt because of waste. These $500 billion in spending cuts are $500 billion in WASTE.

  • MORE problems with this ad:

-Canada and the UK's government-run health care is NOTHING like what's being debated in Congress.

-The reason why people wait so long for surgeries in Canada and the UK is because they have less doctors per person to perform these surgeries than the US does.

-NOBODY should come between you and your doctor. Without reform, the insurance companies will continue to do so. Reform is intended to stop this.

  • Thats because nobody wants to go through near 10 yrs of schooling for substantially less money than the average doctor makes in America. Why would I go through 8-10 yrs of school to make 90,000 dollars? In America we make a lot more because we don't have socialized healthcare...well.... didn't

  • Actually they don't wait long. Ask my mother who is currently being trated for leukaemia. I cannot imagine her getting better care anywhere else in the world. This ad makes me incredibly angry as I know for a fact it is a blatant lie aimed at paranoid cretins.

  • You mean your mother did not have to wait long right? And whatever makes you think that your lack of imagination is a limit to quality in healthcare?

  • My mother is getting top quality treatment for her leukaemia. In England. Now.

I've lived in California for 15 years and I know for a fact that the system here is abysmal compared to Britain.

The health system here is an embarrassment and a shambles.

Lies like this video aren't helping anyone.

  • Anecdotes again. Michael Moore does it better.

  • Anecdotes again. Just like this bullshit video.

  • There are no anecdotes in this video.

  • yes, and i'm getting top quality care here. there are pros and cons of every place. though, i happen to be an insured american, and i'd rather be an insured american than a univesal healthcare recipient.

the only problem with the U.S is that costs are too high. and that is easily fixable by doing the EXACT OPPOSITE of what obama is proposing: having LESS government. if we have less government, and made everyone pay for their own healthcare, prices would drop. here, we sacrifice cost for

  • quality. in socialized medicine countries, they sacrifice quality for cost (realize this, we lead the world in medical research and innovation, and, if we factor out homicide and car accident deaths, we have one of the highest life expectency in the world). i say we should have both. if we got the government OUT of healthcare instead of TAKING OVER it, we can have great quality at cheap prices.

capitalism works wonders, ya know. just let it do its job.

  • You don't know how capitalism works. You say that you support private businesses, right? Private businesses are out for one thing: profit. You come last when there's no competition, and that's what you are hoping for, which is against your own benefit. Who's paying for ads like this? The health insurance industry who want nothing more than to see the public option to fail. Why? Because they won't be able to rape your wallet anymore if it passes.

  • yeah, because the government will be too busy doing that.

look, the government and the insurance companies BOTH wanna rape your wallet. it just so happens that the insurance companies rape it less.

  • Exactly, Insurance companies may want your money as much as anyone else, but the key ingredient with companies is that they compete for your business. The Government does not compete with anyone.

  • Considering health insurance companies make 3% profit, I think your point is moot, if not ignorant.

  • If a buisness is truly raping your wallet under REAL capitalism, then their monopoly will be about as stable as a pen standing on its end. The key to capitalism is not just corporatism and competition, but the freedom to START a business. However, I will say, people in the United States today have a lot of trouble staring such a business with all of the government regulation and certification required of them to market anything.

  • **that is the point of reform--to stop insurance companies from doing this.

  • Fuck you lying imaginary doctor.

  • TOTALLY!

  • Because private insurance companies don't deny coverage all the time, force us to go to specialists only they cover (reducing choices, wow) and force people to live with deadly conditions for years because they can't afford treatment at all.

It's so much nicer to have to choose between declaring bankruptcy or letting a condition go untreated (or hell they'll probably deny you coverage anyway because WOW insurance companies make money by denying health care! wow!)

  • No, this is patently wrong.

  • This ad is the largest heap of bullshit loaded with outright fucking lies.... If universal government-run healthcare sucked so bad, Canada, Great Britian, Sweden, Netherlands, Australia, Denmark, and Germany would not have universal systems. This ad is so sorry, calling it shitty propaganda would be the biggest understatement.

  • This woman, if she is a real doctor, betrays her profession and the Hippocratic Oath.

  • This effort is nothing but a front for big insurance. A complete shill. Liars.

DONT BELIEVE THE LIES. AMERICA NEEDS HEALTH CARE REFORM.

  • Scaremongering and lies. I have no idea why people are so desperate to protect corporate healthcare profits, but decent members of society would support an effort to widen coverage instead of spreading dishonesty and fear.

  • This is pure lies....I lived in Countries with what you call Broken systems and what your saying about them are lies plain and simple.

Every system has its horror stories....including the US

    Healthcare...what would Jesus do?

  • This ad is completely false. We are not even close to bankruptcy and Canada and England are actually ahead of all the countries (including us) that have independent healthcare. Also the house bill will not allow spending over $219 Billion over a 10 year period. Don't give me any of that bankruptcy in 8 years, it simply isn't true.

    (I am independent)

  • All this talk of bankruptcy makes you wonder if the Armed Forces could ever go bankrupt. Someone should float a Bill that all military campaign spending must be deducted directly from peoples paychecks. That way it's all payed for and everyone's on the same page.

  • its pretty obvious that non of the people commenting on this work in the healthcare industry, and know nothing of how socialized healthcare effects....uh....HEALTHCARE! im so sick of this left wing, right wing civil war, guess what were all AMERICAN. im not sure if any of you are aware of the fact that you CAN have views from both sides....at the same time! think about it....

  • This video is pure propaganda. President Obama is not proposing a healthcare system like Canada or the United Kingdom.

  • Fake ad is fake.

  • I'm sorry. This is nothing but Republican, big-money propaganda. They seem to be so far down in the dark hole they cannot see the light of Truth anymore. This reminds me of the Scripture passage, "Truth, What is Truth"? Go back to your roots. Feed the hungry, visit the imprisoned, clothe the naked, look after the sick. When you do this to the least of my brothers, you did it to Me".

  • Nice to see the real comment on here. I posted a comment on their web site now it is no where to be found. Canadians love their health care and think it is a tragedy that America is the ONLY industrialized country with out health care.

  • This is an ad for increasing insurance control and profits while decreasing the health care available to citizens.

I think most Americans are now savvy enough to see through these insurance company, big pharma and big hospital organizations that are trying to keep their money grubbing monopolies.

  • I just googled the doctor and the clinic is called: Canadian Valley Family care, how ironic no???? And this is ALL they do: In House Lab

X-Ray, Bone Density,Nerve Conduction Studies, Pulmonary Function Testing.

    My supermarket does more!

  • You LIE!
