Totally WRONG. Your statement needs to reference INCOME tax, not FEDERAL tax. All employees pay payroll tax of 7.65 (15.3 total with employer portion). When you look at the total % paid in tax by income group, those with the highest incomes pay a lower % than those with moderate incomes. You are also flat wrong that higher tax rates lead to less tax revenues. Look at the Clinton years when taxes were raised and revenue went up. The Bush tax cuts failed to create jobs.

What we need is a flat income tax on EVERYONE, with no exceptions or credits. Taxes are for funding the government.
When will the public smarten up and realize taxing the rich is not the thing that destroys jobs. They are already outsourcing, even under 12 years of Bush Tax Cuts!
