I wondered about the auto trans......most use the standard trans.and you have all the power equipment retained?....how?.....P/S P/B A/C.....? secret? or do you use electric pumps for all those?
that's all great but you have only solved 10% of the range problem, meaning 35 miles versus 350 miles. From there charging and changing could also be adapted. I have been working in this area for a while and may have some solutions for you, The conversion approach is cute and shows a lot of technical knowlege from your business and racing experience, but 35 miles is just a hobby car, you've come a long way, you're just 300 miles short keep at it and good luck...
The battery's we used were the cheapest we could get $60.00 each this was our plan from the start if we could get 40 miles with them then we know we could get 70 miles with Lithium batteries. Drive to work and then drive home and plug it in and you are good to go the next day. As for long trips take your gas car,by doing this you can cut your gas usage by 70 percent or more. P.S. The Ford Explorer uses $.90 cent of electricity for a full charge. Thank you for your comment
