Old X-Play's were so damn funny. Like dainbramagedpro said, they used to have around 5 reviews per episodes, FUNNY reviews. Plus all the hilarious skits.
New ones are all about game news and maybe 1 or 2 reviews, if your lucky. Funny skits are non-existant.
I miss Ratty and Slippy the Fish the most and G4 Rewind is the only way I can see funny X-Play.
I watch X-Play on G4 rewind almost every morning because well.. as said almost 197 Billion times the "old" X-Play is better! The "Old" X-Play reviewed 4-5 games an episode and the reviews were extremeley funny and when they weren't reviewing games they were doing crazy skits and making fun of everything about videogames. The new one just reports gaming news and reviews about 3 games. No more skits, minimum humour, fewer reviews, and no more Ratty. Soon Reruns won't do it for me and it will die.
It's sad to think that this was back when xplay was awesome and not so BORING now. All of the cheesy humour and guff that made it what it was is completely removed from it. It's just SO SAD. D=}

I enjoyed the full episode very much, but I too was surprised by their list of the top 5 game soundtracks. Zelda totally deserves its' #1 spot, but the other 4 are questionable. I don't even like Final Fantasy, but it does have some good soundtracks and I'd say it deserves a spot. I think Mario should also be on the list, that seris has tons of great soundtracks.
The Legend of Zelda deserves to be the best sound track game. I've played every game you guys listed and I say, I can remember more tunes from the Zelda series then any other game. More catchier tunes too.
A show that gives gaming reviews, should not base things on opinion, but rather facts. X-Play usually does a good job with this. Theres no reason why this list should be based on opinion (which it is), because anyone who would put Zelda above Final Fantasy in a music countdown would have to be biased. Depth, diversity, scope, emotional expression, originality, relevence to the scene, simplicity, elegance. These are all ways to review music in games. You cannot tell me that there is no way to tell a game has better music than another. Reviews are based on FACT.
Reviews are opinions based on fact. Besides, any dickhead with ears knows Zelda has a better soundtrack than FF. Heck, Super Mario Bros. has a better soundtrack then all of'em. Heck, my mom knows the soundtrack to SMB.
(IMO) X-play is to gaming what MTV is to musicians. X-play takes an elitist view towards any video game they ever put on their show. This list was poorly thought out, and had no kind of adequate explanation of how they even came to their conclusions. I definately agree that Nobuo Uematsu deserved a place. Nintendo has used the same themes, while Uematsu has composed new pieces over and over again. Sadly, this list was just stuck with a bunch of "catchy" jingles that truly provoke no thought.

Final Fantasy BLATANTLY has the best music ever in gaming and to leave it out of this list is idiocy. I don't see the games on their list having orchestras touring in 16 countries playing their music.

Let's put Vice City and Zelda into our top 5 best soundtracks, but lets leave out metal gear solid and while we're out it lets give Nobuo Uematsu the shaft also. Final Fantasy BLATANTLY has the best music ever in gaming and to leave it out of this list is idiocy. I don't see the games on their list having orchestras touring in 16 countries playing their music.
