  • what a coincidence... Coyote Brown was my college nickname

  • Yay for benchmade!

  • i heard that duracoat will not scratch if put on properly. is this true?

  • It's not a "manzier" its "the bro" reference Kramer and Frank Constanza from Seinfeld!

  • Does duracoat adhere to glass filled nylon as on a ruger lcp?

  • Thats funny your reloading press doubles as a stand for your air compressor nozzel. lol

  • How the Aluma Hyde II work in Nutns opinion?

  • at 11:41 you talk about brake cleaner. Try the CRC Mass air flow sensor cleaner. Its cleans well and is safe for plastics

  • Just duracoated my ar15 parts, using your recommendations. Thanks Nutn!

  • how do you like the Aluma-Hyde compared to duracoat?

  • nutn, i dont know much about duracoating. can moisture get under it or is it a similar impregnation such as bluing agents etc

  • Can you duracoat a car? i was thinking of repainting my jetta. Maybe just duracoat? Awesome? Bad Idea?

  • "I forgot where that was!!" Why do you need so much stuff that you don't use? To each their own I guess.

  • coming from some one who sprays alot of woods and doors and things for cabinets you could get a harbor freight full size spray gun and i think it would cut your spray time down and give you more even dispersion. then use the pen for small parts and corners.

  • Very nice work. I know this video is old but I was wondering if you are using the airbrush that comes with the kits Lauer sells which I assume is where you got your paints etc. are they okay? do they look like they will last more than a few paintjobs?

  • I posted the last two comments @ 18:00 before he commented on spraying cars in the past and it being very forgiving..

  • It shows me that this stuff is very forgiving and anyone could do it...DO not pay to have this done..

  • I am amazed at how well the finish on these parts came out with the worst spraying technique ever..LONG EVEN OVERLAPPING STROKES..Not just spray it all over the place moving as fast as you can..Sorry..Painting cars engines and parts is MY thing...

  • When you loss a knife in a bucket of knives, then you have a lot of knives.

  • how dificult is duracoat to spray?

  • 25:00 for the knife spray painting

  • I have personally seen this stuff burn off a semi auto AR barrel. To be fair, it was not the 'Duraheat' formulation.

  • I want a pocket clip on my Ruger!!!

  • 03:28 is that all duracoat??

  • What do you recommend instead of he dura coat? Nylon camo or rust oleum?

  • @jeffssmart I had better luck with rusto but krylon had a tip you can spray like - or |

  • Veri do you know where i can see the finished nimravus?

  • Duracoating is hard work.

  • is it worth using the duracoat clear matte on top or does the paint itself give a long lasting finish??

  • hey do they have pink duracoat? My wife wants a pink gun was going to use regular paint but if they have it in Duracoat why not I say!

  • @mrshappy2007 yes they do have pink

  • @mrshappy2007 yes they do.cav arms pink#133 lars lansonpink#144pink lady#66

  • GET THAT OUTTA THE WAYY FUDDGGEE.. haha idk why but i cant stop laughing

  • help me i have 2 colors, coyote brown and sand how i should use em to paint my gun

  • like the vd but about the degreasing you have to be careful what you use not everything will be nuetral with paint some things react with the paint can cause wrinkling i suggest jus using actual wax and grease remover but great job guys

  • @LiveLoudCustoms Use brake cleaner. It's specifically designed to leave no residue and is way cheaper than most painting products.

  • what is duracoat???

  • @Joevil6669 satan

  • is it critical to sand everythiing?

  • I've never duracoated anything but I have sprayed cars since I was a kid. And one bit of advice I would give to anyone going to spray anything for the first time is DON'T try and get full coverage in one coat. I've seen to many people (me being one of 'em) wreck a project by trying to get full coverage in one coat and results in runs and hours of extra sanding. Mist coat the first coat, wait until tounch dry and spray the second coat slightly thicker, third coat maybe needed. Just take it slow.

  • @MrMapex2010 GREAT ADVISE!

  • @MrMapex2010 very much agreed, he is being a bit liberal with it.

  • @MrMapex2010 been there, i never learn

  • @MrMapex2010 Good advice, it took me ages to figure that lesson out for myself. But now all my work comes out with a much better quality finish.

  • @MrMapex2010 Thanks for the tip I was wondering about that

  • do you think magpul FDE would look good on a red ryder bb gun?

  • I like the look of the matte paints a lot more. For some reason those colors along with the sheen they have remind me of a mannequin.

  • How did that duracoat take to the wood stock?

  • Seems like theres alot that needs to be done to color your knife

  • Nutnfancy have you thought about duracoating your 15-22?

  • Living next to fort campbell the joke in our neck of the woods is fifth group.

  • i can say i like to camo the blade of my knife.

  • What´s the name of that... that "Larry Potterfield - Theme" wich starts at about 08:02 ? I like it :)

  • Did you have to sand the synthetic stock?

  • nutnfancy im doing a paintjob on my rifle, and i was wondering do you think i should paint the barrel as well?

  • Why this: -- Veri

    Whats that, realy.

  • Would you say getting an abrasive gun is worth the while? It looks like it'd take a hell of a lot of sanding.

  • this is such a great family moment. CLASSIC.

  • Looks like powder coating to me. Personally I would rather kiss your mother than hassle with all the work you need to do to make it come out right. I did like that hello kitty camo idea... that was awesome.

  • can i use duracoat on an airsoft rifle?

  • I get the whole duracoating thing but my question is does it affect the feed or eject , if I get any in that area. Also the same question about duracoating the bolt. (If it helps I'm working on a mauser)

  • why do i hear crickets in there?

  • Has anyone tried duracoating wheels?

  • Would someone answer a question for me please?

What things will I need from the pricing page will I Need to get the best finish on my gun, there are drop down menus on page where you choose a color with things on them and I don't know what a lot of them are.

    VERY Much appreciated, thank you.

  • I was thinking about rebuilding a YZ on a duracoated frame. 2 Q's:

1.) Why would tis be a bad idea?

2.) Can I duracoat over original powdercoat if etched properly or does it need to be removed to bright metal?

  • Thanks for the instructional video. I can't wait to paint a couple guns of mine. However, you have no clue how to spray paint. You should be using smooth fluid passes by the item instead of just hitting the button and jerking your hand about randomly. I am so surprised you didn't have any runs. I hope you don't charge people for that.

  • my nimravus came with the ramp

  • Personally I think that duracoat takes the origonal beauty of a firearm or knife away. Looks like crap to me up there with camouflage on a nice hunting rifle. What a shame.

  • @paininthe10 Different strokes for different folks. The REAL beauty of it is that you can do it YOUR way without having someone else dictate what THEY think you should do. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy If I had a nickel for every time someone from my school tried to tell me my opinion was stupid, its sad really.

  • @nutnfancy

Carrying 40 grenades on your wrist might me an inconvenience for a normal person but come one he's JOHN CONNOR the savior of the human race.

  • @paininthe10 I agree, BUT for real world operators they are more concerned with function than with form. It's more important that their knife doesn't rust or constantly need to be oiled than it is that it "looks cool."

  • Comment removed

  • @SuperRootbeer17 You need to grow up man. Just because someone doesn't see the world in the same light you do doesn't mean you need to get your panties in a bunch.

  • @IIIBLAKEIII how a bout you go fuck your self and don't tell me what to do what i told him is the truth they are coating the guns and to do exactly what i said it does

  • @SuperRootbeer17 I'm not looking for a troll, or telling you what to do. Just trying to say that being an asshole isn't a necessity on youtube. Sadly though... some people like yourself believe it is.

  • @IIIBLAKEIII dude not that i dont aprecatite the advice its just the way you put me on blast on you tube is not cool btw im 35 dude

  • @paininthe10 I guess that's why nutnfancy buys his own guns, instead of borrowing yours. You don't own the weapon, why do you give a shit.

  • @BrianWilsonJacob Same reason why you seem to give a shit about my opinion. It's my opinion and I guess if you're not allowed to express your opionion on these videos then why the hell are they even posted ? Does the military duracoat ?

  • @paininthe10

    and don't forget one thing:

you could refresh the appearence of cheap fucked up rifles, other guns, and knifes fast, nice, cheap and in your own way.

espescially if you modified it before with DIY methods, and you are a beginner with a lack of money.

Imagine beein a student wanna shoot clay pigeons and target full bore.

-you don't need to buy a sporting shotgun. a fucked OnU hunting cheap with good fittet system is enough: 200 €/$

-old military K31 or swedish Mauser: 300€$

  • @paininthe10 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

  • @paininthe10 matters look the browning x-bolt stainless stalker is a beauty and it has dura coat on it

  • @paininthe10 wait thats dura touch my mistake 0_0

  • You know this kid is from the North when at 1:49 he pronounces Bowie wrong!!!! It's pronounced Booo-wee not Bow-ee

  • @EccentricBubbles i love how thats all you got out of this video...

  • you should have put NutnFancy on the barrel =)

  • Just a tip here.....once you've degreased a part, DO NOT touch it again with your bare hands until after the part has been painted. Your hands have natural oils on them, and can transfer those oils to the part, which will affect adhesion of the paint.

  • Beautiful paint jobs! Check out my video of my WASR after painting with Duplicolor engine paint.

  • how does the coyote duracoat look compared to say a coyote colored blackhawk vest? are the colors similar? its hard to tell on the website.

  • dude i woulda just painted the blade and kept the grips black on that benchmade 2 tone would of looked awesome!

  • I was thinking about duracoating my glock 19 frame.. Do u think that would be a bad idea? And did u have any problems with the duracoat running?

  • @bubba0465 Just follow the directions, it will be all good, it will be quite tough to prep it well, unless you have like a mediablaster or somthing.

  • LOL I agree with some below... I think duracoat is cool from what I've seen, but I'd say don't get carried away with it. I think most knives and such have superb finishes to begin with so unless you are doing it to actually get camouflage or to prevent corrosion on a knife or other that easily rusts consider it carefully before doing it.

  • Its funny to me but I have yet to see NutsRFancy really do any serious patterns in

Duracoat. Anybody can spray duracoat on an object. Believe me after professionally

applying duracote for several years. Applying patterns seperates the men from the boys.

If you have any doubt, tackle the Air Force ABU and see how much fun it is. Just my

two cents. By the way I really like most of NF's videos. Would like to see a few

reviews on Taurus. They go good with my Glocks and Colt Gov. models.

  • Can u use any air compresor?

  • im planing on buying a dura coating kit this summer

  • After seeing this, I wanna duracoat my bike, my knives, my tv, my car, my sofa, my bed, and my life so I can get a better grip on everything!

  • @ahmukilu

Dude I laughed so hard when I read your comment. That was funny.

  • i think black knifes are way better than coating it

  • can someone please tell me the name of the acoustic song that starts at around 8:00 ?

  • this is hotforwords' theme song

  • @ganaschico I'm sure it's one of the songs that comes with the video editing software he uses. All those songs are royalty-free and can be used by anyone who buys the software. I've actually heard that particular bit in many videos.

  • @Mequellios it was... one of the beats off garage band btw

  • the crickets...

  • i wanna party with yooouuuu. I WANNA PARTY WITH YOU!!

  • Does that air brush hook into your household compressor?

  • i need some help. i want to duracoat my 92fs. do i have to sand the slide barrel and lower or do i just need to degrease it. also so i have to take the slide internals out.... my 92fs is all dung to hell. also what do i do about the night sights? could someone pm me or respond to this asap.

  • @SB52489 meant to ask if i have to gut out the slide

  • i wanna sniff duracoat with u guys

  • i wanna sniff duracoat

  • so basically all you got to do is sand it degrease it and paint it?

  • is it just me or is the music in this video the same as the music in those kaplan college commercials? lol. nice vid though i just got interested in duracoating and am going to buy me a set soon.

  • im thinking about getting a springfield GI 1911 and duracoating it that same tactical coyote brown, what do you think?

  • hey nutn, im relatively new to tnp but im loving all your vids man!! keep up the great work? but i was wondering have you ever tried doing some digi camo? i saw the kits online but i think this would make a difficult task almost impossible for me. just wondering if u have ever tried and how much harder it really is.

  • Maybe for those slippery knives or anything else you want more grip on, you can put a thin layer op duracuat on it, then when it's still wet, you put evenly a bit of fine sand or other very small hard particles on it and then another layer of duracoat. Wouldn't you get a very grippy surface?

  • so....when ya gonna duracoat them backpacking mugs eh? just kidding

  • Hey, Nutn, I'm seeing some nice little items in your shop that you obviously use to work on/modify/maintain your equipment. I was thinking it would make a great video if you could do a review on your shop in whole, or more particularly some of the items, like your belt sander, progressive press, whatever. It would be nice to hear your take on some of the equipment necessary to carry out some of these projects. Be safe brother!

  • "I don't want an amorphous blob knife"

"I am hip to the jive..."

    Rediculas. Haha!

  • nice calculator watch

  • i think id rather powder coat

  • What's the song that starts playing at around 8:00?

  • Not to sound like a Oprah, but I dig the "bonding" aspect of this vid with you and your fam (including smell). Keep it up, Nutn.

  • lol sniff duracoat with us

  • I guess your car still has the

    factory color....Ritght ? lol.

    Great video.

  • Which is better Duracoat or Ceracoat???

  • do they make this or any kind of gun paint in aerosol form?

  • Your boy is hilarious, Nutn!

  • I love that they just talk with each other. Fun to listen too

  • Hey Nutn This may seem like a odd question but how to you measure out the parts of hardener and such to the paint your about to spray. I know you didnt do it in this video, i probably wont either wheni duracoat my ruger. But if you had dont it " by the book" how would it be done?

  • nutn rocking the calculator watch (very tactical) :P

  • After I get my Tapco/Ruger 10/22 done in OD green I'm going to do my car in multicam!!!

  • Nutinfancy....Rockin the calculator watch!

  • @TacticalDork Hahaha!! -- Veri

  • @TacticalDork

laughed out loud with your comment, youve the same sense of humour as me mate ha ha!!

  • Wordering how the AR gasblock acts with the duracoat? Its a pettysnug fit to slide on and off when working on an AR. does the duracoat affect the removal of the gasblock becouse of buildup?

  • Comment removed

  • do you need to sand of the barrel finish or is the blueing ok to leave on?

  • yeah man id totally duracoat that.... that too.... same with that.....

  • double sided tape will anchor the nuts and bolts and what nots hope it helped:)!

  • 10:35 lol seinfeld for the win!!!

  • Lol. Love your vids, but isn't exposed insulation harmful? rofl.

  • I have an entension tube which I have put some scratches... Do I have to take the finish off or can I degrease sand and apply the dura coat. I see that duracoat does sell the stripper chemicals.. thanks

  • why do you ruin so many guns and knives?

  • @HAILxTHExLEAF Why are you asking dumb questions? He digs it man, that's why. So does the majority of people tuning into this. So don't be so negative.

  • @HAILxTHExLEAF fuck you

  • Remember to be careful with brake cleaner, allow it to boil off, either by applying it to a super hot surface or not being careful, and it degrades into phosgene gas, and will kill you with less than 1.5 ppm (part per million).

  • Loving that 'manly' pink insulation stuff!

  • How about a dark brown counter striping to break up the outlines a little?

  • Lol you're wife's butter knife collection..

  • Man you are waaay too into duracoat, esp that brown color. Never been a fan of brown, but I can see the usefulness in a desert location. Personally I would rather have titanium nitride coatings on my blades. There are several different looks you can get with it. Not really something you can do in your basement, though.

  • is duracoat in the form of spray paint or regular paint

  • I think he should durcoat his car.

  • after watching this i decided i was going to duracoat my Ipod, that'll be this weekend's project.

  • How do you cover the scope glass so that it doesn't get over spray on it?

  • What's an affordable, effective air compressor? I was thinking about starting to get into Duracoat.

  • this video gave me the courage to duracoat my deer rifle in camo....friggen sweet

  • Sounds like he's got a tactical cricket in the basement.

  • r u high off that dura coat?

  • FUDGE!

  • i love the box o' knives

  • Might I lend a friendly word of advice? Try this next time. First coat .... dusting only. Wait 15 minutes. Then put on a second coat of a thicker dusting. Allow to dry 20 minutes. Then you are ready to put it on with a full coat for the final coat. This allows for better adhesion, and optimum coverage. Like I said ... just a friendly suggestion. Also, you might try one of Paasche's newer 'TAF series' fan nozzles. They work great for light coverage over a wide area.

  • Classic banter, pure man talk! Ridiculous!

  • Always with the Jimping! Haha classic nutn! Thats a fine workshop u got goin there guys!

  • yea! bring out the gimp...

  • I was hoping to get a Benchmade Nimravus and then duracoating it.

  • How did that duracoat hold up in the flash hider. i am thinking of getting my ar-15 duracoated.

  • @millster101 It holds up fine, the only place ive had it come off is the brass deflector.

  • you guys REALLY need a sandblaster!

  • 5:42 LOL amorphous blob knife ROTFLCOPTER

  • ok seriouse question ..from one of many veiwer in alaska..duracoat verse brownells gunkote?? i love my guns and want thebest things to keep them operating fully and the fullest..pro's and con's of both?in your opinion

  • Comment removed

  • Do you guys use a oil/water eliminator on the spray gun?

    How do you control runs?

  • lol "or sniff duracoat with us" you guys are great

  • Did you ever try using a low pressure sand blaster. Way faster than paper.

  • Outstanding vid bro!
