@dimitrisk93 No it's a V8 similar to what is used in Nascar except with fuel injection. That whining noise you hear is coming from the drive train because racing gears are straight cut. Foust and Gittin use the same thing also because the V8 has a huge torque curve and there's no turbo lag

RHD because Darren's Irish and as such is used to driving that side of the car, same as the rest of us over this side of 'the pond'. No point putting a really good driver in a car that feels alien to him. Will have been enough of a difference from his usual '86 without having to learn where the shifter and handbrake are.

On another note; looks like you guys have really sorted the setup for this year. Car is looking easier and easier to drive which will only make it more competitive. Good luck!

Well i don't understand why they need 800hp to drift, like tsuchiya said himself, almost everyone can drift with big power but not everyone has what it takes to get low powered cars to drift. These tourneys are getting a little like F1, sure the cars are fast as shit but its no longer as exciting as it once was. I guess to the uninformed lots of smoke = good drift?

You guys are trollin' about this cars power. Remember that Darren was driving an AE86 before, which wasn't pushing more than like 250-300 bhp and only because it had a Nissan SR20 unit under the hood. Its not how much power you got but how much of it you can actually use. V8's have a great response, and so even in this video DMac didn't have to kick the clutch at all, the power was just on any revs. But on the other hand, this kind of power is efectivelly used only with a long wheelbase.
