Chito-ryu miss me so strong....I do this beautiful martial art for 4 years...I was learning with a Master of chito-ryu in quebec...Is name is Kyoshi Raymond Desjardins rokudan...he is a hall of fame in Panama, Porto Rico, new york, maryland, georgia and florida...yeah anyway...nice kata ^^
Thanks! It's funny you should mention that as it was a bit of my focus in class tonight. It's easy to learn a kata, it's hard to get good at them! ;) When were you training at the AKC?
Oh, I wanted to train there the year I lived in Halifax, but I was living by MicMac, and taking the bus home by myself late at night would have been a stupid move. Plus I was a poor student and had no money to pay club fees. XD
I first trained with John Fraser in the after school club at East Pictou and in his Asian Studies class, and then Cherry Whittaker at the New Glasgow Karate Club.
I heard, Chitose Sensei learnt Jion, Jitte and Unsu in Okinawa.. Are those kata still exsisting in Chito Ryu? If so, I'd like to see those, of posible.. TQ :)
I'm afraid I've never heard of those. The current kata list for Chito-Ryu is: Shi Ho Hai, Ni Sei Shi Sho, Ni Sei Shi Dai, Roh Hai Sho, Roh Hai Dai, Seisan, Bassai, Chinto, Tenshin, Sochin, Ryusan, Sanshi Ryu, Kusanku, and Sanchin.
IC... May b, he didnt add those kata to his syllubus even he learnt them.. I hv read he learnt Jion, Jitte from Hanashiro Chomo (or Yabu Kentsu, I cnt recall) and Unsu frm someone.. Anyway doesnt matter. Gambatte Kudasai :)
I learned Unsu back in the 80's, as well as Ananku - don't remember them now. There have always been a few katas floating around, especially when you get Chitose's students going around for seminars.
Don't be embarassed! It was very entertaining! You looked like you were having a good time. My old sensei used to say "There are many roads to the top of the mountain but the view from the top is the same". Maybe karpadiem-ryu will get you to the top of the mountain ;)
@Iguanasan higashi makes trips there right? :D he is in canada in my dojo

@isaste11 Thank you, isaste11, however, I wouldn't bother. When people like this open their mouth they say more about themselves.

at the end, you need to poke, u forgot that
ringolo123 3 years ago
Poke? I've never seen a "poke" at the end of Chito-Ryu Bassai. What do you mean by a poke?
Iguanasan 3 years ago
you really need to work on your kicks, your knee should come up before your foot. how long did it take you to get your black belt?
s0me1rand0m 3 years ago
Thanks for the input. It took me quite a while as I was in and out of karate a few times.

Hey nice again!
I missed updates on the old account (euclotght;)
This is next up for me. I should repost my old katas. They were ugly, but hey, I do my best. :D
Cheers
