  • @Iguanasan higashi makes trips there right? :D he is in canada in my dojo

  • @skyfromsamp Yes, he generally visits Nova Scotia twice a year. His next visit will be in October.

  • @Iguanasan i go to karate to, is he from higashi school of karate?

  • @skyfromsamp The karate club is in Halifax, Nova Scotia, however, we train under Sensei Higashi.

  • Thanks, turtle666138. I hope you get there soon! :)

  • I love Bassai. Can't wait to learn it when I get there.

  • bassai and seisan are my favorite katas!!!

  • @miss7sport I'm glad you enjoy them. They're pretty high up on the ranking with me too :)

  • c de la grosse merde

  • @jolarico Pas fort comme commentaire! Assez nul même! N'écris pas de commentaire quand tu n'as rien de mieux à dire.

  • @isaste11 Thank you, isaste11, however, I wouldn't bother. When people like this open their mouth they say more about themselves.

  • @coparofl Honestly, I totally agree with you. All I can say is that I am currently working improving that aspect of my life. Thanks for the comment.

  • Chito-ryu miss me so strong....I do this beautiful martial art for 4 years...I was learning with a Master of chito-ryu in quebec...Is name is Kyoshi Raymond Desjardins rokudan...he is a hall of fame in Panama, Porto Rico, new york, maryland, georgia and florida...yeah anyway...nice kata ^^

  • Hey, suprimus666, thanks for comment. I hope you get a chance to train again since you seem to miss it so much.

  • at the end, you need to poke, u forgot that

  • Poke? I've never seen a "poke" at the end of Chito-Ryu Bassai. What do you mean by a poke?

  • you really need to work on your kicks, your knee should come up before your foot. how long did it take you to get your black belt?

  • Thanks for the input. It took me quite a while as I was in and out of karate a few times.

  • watch your stance :) .

  • Indeed! Still working on it :D

  • nice kiai

careful though. seems like you're moving your center line a bit much

    "remember the string"

    thanks for posting the vids

been a long time since i've seen the akc

  • Thanks! It's funny you should mention that as it was a bit of my focus in class tonight. It's easy to learn a kata, it's hard to get good at them! ;) When were you training at the AKC?

  • Nice interpretation.

I posted mine too. I really need to practice more. LOL

  • Looks good! This is one of my favourite kata, along with Ro Hai Sho, Ni Sei Shi Sho, and Seisan. ^^

  • Thanks! I'm going to try and add the others. There just never seems to be enough time.

  • Haha, I know what you mean.

What dojo are you out of?

  • I train at the Atlantic Karate Club in Halifax, NS.

  • Oh, I wanted to train there the year I lived in Halifax, but I was living by MicMac, and taking the bus home by myself late at night would have been a stupid move. Plus I was a poor student and had no money to pay club fees. XD

I first trained with John Fraser in the after school club at East Pictou and in his Asian Studies class, and then Cherry Whittaker at the New Glasgow Karate Club.

  • I heard, Chitose Sensei learnt Jion, Jitte and Unsu in Okinawa.. Are those kata still exsisting in Chito Ryu? If so, I'd like to see those, of posible.. TQ :)

  • I'm afraid I've never heard of those. The current kata list for Chito-Ryu is: Shi Ho Hai, Ni Sei Shi Sho, Ni Sei Shi Dai, Roh Hai Sho, Roh Hai Dai, Seisan, Bassai, Chinto, Tenshin, Sochin, Ryusan, Sanshi Ryu, Kusanku, and Sanchin.

  • IC... May b, he didnt add those kata to his syllubus even he learnt them.. I hv read he learnt Jion, Jitte from Hanashiro Chomo (or Yabu Kentsu, I cnt recall) and Unsu frm someone.. Anyway doesnt matter. Gambatte Kudasai :)

  • I learned Unsu back in the 80's, as well as Ananku - don't remember them now. There have always been a few katas floating around, especially when you get Chitose's students going around for seminars.

    Jion, Jitte came from Hanashiro.

    Unsu came from Motobu Choyu.

  • Good :)

  • Thanks!

  • Dude, if you think this will save you in real fight I'm not inclined to agree.

  • With any luck, I'll never find out. I don't train to fight; I train for me.

  • HA HA, cool. Someone that knows what they are doing. Now I feel a little embarrassed by my last video. :)

    Oh, and thanks for subscribing!

  • Don't be embarassed! It was very entertaining! You looked like you were having a good time. My old sensei used to say "There are many roads to the top of the mountain but the view from the top is the same". Maybe karpadiem-ryu will get you to the top of the mountain ;)

  • ha ha! maybe... mayyyyybe....

  • Well Done

  • Thanks, dtpye!

  • Looking good Glen.

    Your buddy.

  • Thanks!
