  • ní hé an síneadh fada an 'Irish accent' coaaúil mat atá scríobhta sa chur síos... is é an líne atá thuas ar gutaí chun iad a dhéanamh níos faide

  • Thar a bheith Greannmhar. Beadh se go hiontach seo iomlan le Daire a dheanamh tri Ghaeilge i rith SnaG nó am eigean. Piosa beag poiblíocht don theanga .

  • Sílim go bhfuil Dara beagáin crosta le Manchán sa chomhrá seo.

  • is brea liom an kitkat agus an madra cruig......i got aa d- in irish HIGH FIVE

  • I've just watched 5 minutes of this guys program on TG4.

It seems to consist of him walking around Dublin trying to speak to people in Irish. Then trying to make them look stupid for not knowing what he is saying, just because they haven't had the same background or interest in the language as him.

    What a prick!

  • Is Brá liom Gaelic agus bá mhaith liom níos mo a caintch

  • sceal mor ar fad faoth an feckin fada. Cen fath? B'fieder nach bhfuil se rudai go h'iontach ar fad. ach B'feider go bhuil se ar eaghan nos. Ach Nil ioghas agam ar an ait ar mo fada anois. agus mo 'spelling'.!

  • is líom sa an vada :L

  • Church is shite everywhere. I just love Irish for what it is: an awesome and fascinating language.

  • shut up kealyc. The Catholic church is awesome. and yes I promote an gaelige. Éirinn go brach agus slán.

  • Ah this was priceless, Very well done, Manchán and Dara! Funny feckers, the two of you. RTÉ should give ye a show. The funniest video I've seen in a long long time.

  • The Irish should preserve and promote keep their gaelic langauge, and also Scots gaelic for Ulster, and throw out the Catholic Church, and then they might achieve a united Ireland.

  • Who wants to be united with that shower of victim mentality tosspots above? Sweet Hay-zeus, No.

  • keep your anti-Catholic sentiments to yourself.

  • I only know Donegal Ghealighe, but it's good that Dara still follows his true roots.

I wish I was taught Irish at a young age instead of waiting until my GCSE's to fully go for it. Ah well, Slá Gó Foille

  • Beautiful. I hate Welsh, no where near as exotic. I do love the random little snippets of English that appears here and there.

  • bhí a show seo uafásach

  • well, i have a feeling that only these two girls understood what dara was talking about

  • I really wish this had some subs... I mean, is brea liom Dara O[fada] Briain, ach I wish I could understand more of what he was saying because I'm sure I'm being left out of a laugh or two.

  • And I don't. Thanks to the fact that there's no subs, I really feel motivated now to learn at least some gaelic and I guess you should feel motivated to extend the knowledge you already have.

  • He's right...

    He really does talk funny.

  • Can someone translate to Eng ? or do a Eng sub ?

  • here jus talkin about the fada in his name

  • are you sure it is irish [i]accent[i], rather tahn irish language?! as a non-native, I must say that it's quite far fetched to give it the lable [i]english[i]

  • Ó mo dhia... lag leis an gáire a bhí mé! Is aoibheann liom Dara Ó Briain- 's ea Dara, is leatsa an fada! Is leatsa é go deo!

  • Is liomsa an fada! hahahaha

    Tá mé iomlán aríos

  • cha ghabh e creidsinn eh

  • surreal

  • ..."táimse iomlán anois"... ha, ha!

  • Jesus, cé hé an geek olmhór seo... tá sé ag gearán faoi easpa bród sa teanga agus é á mharadh. labharann seo i slí comh mínáidúirthe... Droch gaeilge san iomlán. sin a mhéid

  • It's at moments like this when I long to be able to speak Gaelic.

  • Cool to see Dara speaking Irish. It's funny how they keep interjecting "you know" and "I mean"

  • Iontach Deás xD

  • This is ace!

  • Is aisteoir den chéad scoth é Dara Ó Briain.

Tá ceist agam, conas a déarfá 'comedian' as Gaeilge? Ní 'fear ghrinn' é, mar ciallaíonn fear ghrinn 'clown'.

  • Deireann Des Bishop fear ghrinn?

  • Níl fhios agam ... I only ever saw about 1 and a half programmes of In the Name of the Fada. U_U

  • Fuirseoir, is dóigh liom.

  • ta sin uafasach. gan a úsaid an fada. Is fuath liom fadaí. Cuirin siad isteach go mór orm. >:[

  • what is his sin?

    i cant understand Irish :(

    xoxo

  • He took the fada outa his name!

  • thank youuu :)

    xoxo

  • Hehe... cho greannmhar.. ;) Is maith liom Dara Ó Briain, nó Dara O'Briain.. is cuma liom mar fada in anim aige, ach ceapaim ba ceart do duine ar bith ainm le fada a scríobh, ma bhfuil fada i ainm sin.

Níl fada agam ... mar is Gearmánach mé.. hum..

(Agus gabh mo leithscéal as mo drochgaeilge.. níl ro-mhór gramadach agam.. agus mar chaill mé cúpla fada i trácht seo.. tá bron orm.. )

  • "is mo fada é!is liomsa an fada!"

he's so funny but the presenter needs to calm down!

  • i can only speak bout 6 words in irish allas ,

  • Déarfá an rud chéanna le do Bhéarla.

  • Sílim go bhfuil Dara ag togáil an piss.

  • sea saighas, measaim é freisin

  • an mun.

  • I was talking about Manachán, I like Dara.

  • Maith sibh 'leaids

  • Dara was on Jonathan Ross's show, and there was a clip of Dara when he was bright eyed and bushy tailed when he was presently morning kid's tv on TG4, and Jonathan Ross asked what language he was speaking! He didn't realise there was such a language as Irish! And then Dara replied that the language had a special place in his heart and it is the language he converses with his father in. And then when asked to say something in Irish Dara said I have big hairy balls or something!

  • rememeber he didnt give the irish for but he did do the correct grammer by putting mo t'h"esticals lol

  • An fadhb atá agam ná nach oibríonn an síne fada ar roinnt leathanaigh ar an idirlíon- thagann sé amach mar $@# agus a leithéid....

  • He has bad pronounciation, VERY ENGLISH!

  • Whats the problem? better than nothing.

  • In his defence he probably doesn't have much of an opportunity to use his Gaeilge, I think he probably only uses it when he sees his Dad, and I think he may live in England. Didn't he say there nil chonai orm Eireann?

  • Yeah he lives in England. His Irish is better than mine, I wish i had this level with bad pronunciation!

  • Laochra!

  • anyone know where to get a transcript of this?

  • its so strane hearing dara talking irish we are o uesd to hearing him talking in english

  • Well you should know Darafan, that Dara regularly presented his first ever tv show, Echo Island, in Irish.
