Chevy might have had the larger engine earlier, but my 1992 Ford F-150 5.0 V8 still runs like a beast, even with 170,000 miles on it. Always beat chevys at red lights.

I drive everyday at my work a 2011 F250 with the 6.2, carrying abound 1200 lbs in it everyday. we needed to put airbags in the back to help with the weight cause the back was sagging too much and throwing off the geometry of the front end, also, we get no better than 12mpgs. I'm really careful with not reving the motor past 2500rpm everytime i accelerate also. we drive it real world, no tests can reproduce that.

@beaver241980 I have no idea how they are driving the Chevy, but in my Silverado 2500HD with the 6.0 carrying a little over 1000 lbs (no sagging) it'll coast at 35mph with little to no acceleration at all. Based on my driving style (I drive much the same as you) I get about 12 to 15mpgs. These tests just don't seem to be accurate, or they are a bit biased. I'd like to see AMCI test them.

@Saieno86 chevy had tests done by AMCI with howie long. I liked watching them, of course they are all about chevy, but I think they did a better job testing and comparing the 3 trucks.

I like how Ford brags they have best in class torque and horsepower...Horsepower is 2 higher than the ram and torque is 5 higher. But yet Ford needed an extra half liter to get that. And how did the dodge lose the dodge gets better mileage than the ford by 2 MPG. Do your research

@ohblondi Yeah but the dodges motor is like the new duramax, its squeezing its guts out for all that power, the 6.2 isn't. When dodge gets a new motor, Ford will just give the 6.2 more power just like the rest of the boys.

First off the trucks should all be in different lanes so no drafting occurs.

Second, they should be driving side by side so we know they are going the same speed.

Third, I own Fords and love them but common, we know fuel efficiency isn't what they are about.

@TheNearlyUndead the 3/4 tons and the 1/2 tons using different rating systems to rate engine power. the 6.2 in this makes 405 but in the 1/2 tons makes 434. The 6.2 in the 3/4 ton also makes 434 if rated the same way. Its the same motor.

None of this video was fake or staged. Everything you see in this video is accurate and true. Each truck was ran identical several times with different drivers to prove consistency. The trucks were kept in the same order in the line up so nobody could say it was less fuel economy per placement, wind resistence etc. The Ford was better each time the test was ran. For those of you on here trying to say it was staged or fake, you are wrong and you were not there so how would you know anyway?

Anyone else notice in the beginning of the test the ford was in front...when the Trucks started running out of fuel the ford was in the behind the chevy and the Ram. Why during a test would anyone need to make a pass? Unless of course they drove the piss out of the Chevy and Ram burning more fuel and then waited for the Ford to Catch up. Just saying the way you drive your truck has a lot to do with fuel economy, Sorry Ford.Thats a sorry excuse for a "Test" I'm still going out and getting a chevy
