@CropDuster33 ummm... you have your numbers way wrong duc is 170, r6 is 130. The torque difference however, between the two, is huge (more than double). Please don't post unless you have a clue.
@carvethecanyon If he put the R6 in 2nd gear it woulda been close up to 120. It's just a video. It's not a competition here. I don't know why you all get so fuckign worked up.
We switched bikes so I could try the duc. At 160+ it's silky smooth. Get over it everyone, and enjoy the fact that the bikes are somewhat comparable.
hey do your self a faver and run a bike with the same caliber at least you will look a bit better to the public dam just forgot you will get floged!!!!!!!
its funny the bike was designed to take on litre bikes but barley nails a 6 gassing it first.you must be a total TOOL!!PS i would NEVER own one of them.GO the FAST fours!LOL
and to top it off you hit the throttle first.i think peaple that own an 1198+all ducks are so full of them selfs hense thats why i just watched this gutless run!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Mephistocbrxx11 Actually the ducati is capable of beating a hayabusa over 1/4 mile run but it wouldn't be too far behind on a top speed run either. Obviously we cant compaire a 600 vs 1200 for perormance but it was nice to see how much difference between them. I own an 1198s and have often wondered what my mate see's when his on his 600 following me. lol
@benjyboba Actually your 1198s with 170hp and 130of torq (same for 1198r) will be far far .....far away to my 207 hp and 160(at 300km/ with ram air) of torq stock hayabusa aniway : drag races .....any races and specialli high speed races and you know that .Just try a 2008 busa . The difference are very big between bikes (37hp and 30 torq))))) its a medium bike whoo escaped from your ducati:))))]No offense man ...The best bike is the bike you like aniway....is not about the power or speed
@Mephistocbrxx11 First 207hp stock is a lie, now thats out of the way Your busa is also alot heavyer than any 170 to 190 hp 1000cc bike, geared diffrently as it is actually a touring bike and not a sportbike and fatter losing aerodynamic abuility to the slimmer better geared performence built sportbikes. Before you ask yes I have been on a busa and it is an awesome bike both my 99 and 08, but the fact is a lighter, better geared aerodynamic 1000 with good rider accelerates faster.
@mattc1683 at 300km/h Hayabusa have 207 hp stock(with ram air active)and in standing position have 197 , is a hyper bike not sport touring, and aerodynamical is the best of all. Not a single bike is faster like a 2008 hayabusa or B-king (speed record ,drag record, fastest mile record..........it is a fucking legend). Is havier but it have 160 of torq ,with 30-40 more like a 1000cc bike and that is allot, and torq meens acceleration
@Mephistocbrxx11 A busa is a sport touring. Not a hyper bike like the internet morons say it is. It is a sport touring like it or not. and 207 stock is bullshit. and It is not the best of all aerodynamicaly that would go to the s1000rr. As for torque, it has a butt load of it but gets used at top. I myself own the 99 busa wich was the fastest stock busa ever built untill the japs made an agreement to slow down. I am a mechanic at firebird during events I think I know about bikes. also MMI grad.
@Mephistocbrxx11 The zx12r A1 is refered to as an "open model" but to give you hp numbers I would need to know the year as they do differ. I havent done much with them but I have worked with a few before. and as for whay kind of mechanic I am, Not a tire changer those are called tire technitions. and a track will not pollish your bike. I am a race prep mechanic meaning I make a stock bike track ready as well as repair bikes during or after a track day. also I am tech inspection before events.
@mattc1683 :))) don't polish trak bikes ha?:)))))))))i know man it was just a joke and the zx12-r A1(with 340 km/h on tacho) have 178 hp on standing position and with ram air active have 190!! that whi my 2009 hayabusa with ram air have 207 not 197 and it's the truth! stock!! i don't want to upset you ....that was not my intention ....i'me fairplay.
@mattc1683 Man i don't know what mechanic you are .......mabie you polishing bikes or something:)))) or change tyres.Whell as for me ....i have my own workshop a big one ...and i have 5 bikes!!! all 1000cc jap bikes from 2005 to 2009 a 2009 hayabusa and next week i will buy a B-king......i'me a bike lover and i have all the documentation about all bikes
@Mephistocbrxx11 You said something about aerodinamics :))).....man you know nothing :))) and you said cuz you have a 99 hayabusa.....The only reason whi your busa go faster like the zx12-r A1 model is aerodynamic!!!!!!The zx12-r is faster until 280-290 km/h because it have 30 kg less and 10 more hp but busa have better aerodynamic shape...and in 2008 that shape was improved with 15% and you said cuz hayabusa is not very aerodynamical:)))))
@benjyboba Yer m8 169 kg is quite light for a bike with 170 hp, You can allways increase power easy enough but the real limitation is traction and wheelies, An 1198 is more capable that some might think in terms of power. The race one has an air restrictor on it of 50mm, apparently it makes 200 hp. Remove the restrictor and I wonder what it makes. It can never make the power of a four but for a twin is impressive. Speed is just a bit of tuning to any bike. Turbo is the answer but it doesnt mater
Guy with the camera should have shifted into a lower gear to keep up. 1198 is too much for most people on the track. I pass them all the time on my F4i.
@reverb478@reverb478 No, not really. Most tracks I go to are faster on a 600 than a 1000. I run upper-intermediate and have to keep a faster corner speed than other guys if I want to pass. F4i is lacking some HP, yeah?
@jamesF4i Yeah, he just did a 4th gear roll on to feel out the power band. HAd he downshifted enough, the R6 would have kept up pretty good. It still didn't do bad in this video tho! I was on the duc and hit the rev limiter on a few of the shifts. LOL
@jamesF4i Most people who own an 1198, myself included, don't ride them too fast for risk of hurting them. Its actually very usable power, Its got a lot of power there. No 600 will keep up on a straight, unless it got a turbo or something.
Doesn't even seem like either of these guys had it wide open

I used to have a 2001 R6 and they are fast as hell. I am highly suprised it kept up with the Duc as well as it did. Props to Yamaha.

looks like the r6 never drop the gear just pull throttle in high gear...no wonder the ducs go away

HAHAHAHA looks like the R6 won to me. The Duc looks like it blew up and the R6 flew by.

This was just as exciting as watching a Corvette race a Prius.
Next time race a Liter bike instead of bike with 1/2 the displacement.

Hows the torque of the ducati feel at lower speeds vs. high speeds? Doeas the inline fours feel like it start to catch up at the higher speeds?
