@SoraKumiko It would have been a better phot if it was just a persons shaddow against the wall, with a nice arch to the pose. I think that would have made a feeling of intrigue...(as in the fact that we can't actually see the model, what do they look like, what is going on around them.) Which is the direction i thought she was taking when we saw her video. It's a shame.

I thought Forest's photo is pretty good. I was trying to comprehend the "fabric, fabric and fabric" comment. And thumbs up to Varzina and her model friend. That photo is in my opinion the best of this challenge. Not blatantly sexual, but thought-provoking. Not to forget the model is very pretty - reminds me of young Claire Danes in Romeo and Juliet.

The other two however even if they would be technically perfect are just regular portraits and do not match the assignment given.

Why does everyone feel the need to think outside the box etc. Sometimes thinking outside the box is doing cliche stuff. I was totally expecting a sexy nurse in a pvc nurse costume with the big red cross on the white hat with rubber gloves flicking a syringe. If some one had that photo they would have been praised by the judges.

I have to say there is a lot of terrible photos, I havent seen the episodes leading up to this but how did you guys pick these "photographers"? Seems almost completely at random a lot of these guys talk up their photos but the end result is uninspired, badly composed and lacking any real focus. Just my opinion :)

Thus far, the only people I know FOR SURE should still be in this competition are Hessel and Varzina. They know how to execute concepts they conjure in their minds and see it through until they have their final product. I know for certain that Max Delgado and Chloe should not be in this competition. I haven't seen Max produce a decent photo yet and Chloe's best photo (of her own eye) was a product of luck, not skill. If Hessel were eliminated this week over Chloe it would be a travesty.

Darn, I'm too late to vote in a save. I hope Brian Lewis gets saved. His last photo for challenge#3 wasn't maybe the most easily recognized as the challenge required. But you can't easily count out his past challenges. His photos are all well executed and it appears he takes a lot of time to stage the scenes. I've also been excited to see his work each show and I can't say that about all the current contenders. Well, good luck to all that remain.

The competition was given as the ability to convey a theme as judged by professional photographers. There's an assignment and time frame, much like pros working for a magazine. You can try to denigrate that skill as "commercial" but its talent regardless.

The judges aren't looking for stock photos, they're grudgingly accepting them because many are having trouble being creative within constraints.

Some would rather a fine art competition. That'd be fine too, but that's not what this is.

I know that this challenge would be outside the norm of most photographer's comfort zones. However, I feel that all but two missed the mark all together. Albeit a few shots were very good, they just didn't convey erotic to me. Zarina's photo was really well composed, however, it looked more like Artistic Nude than Erotica. In my opinion, although totally commercial, Forrest's photo was the most conveyance of erotica. I could totally see his photo being displayed in a Erotic Art Exhibit.

Basically I agree with judges comments. They are fair enough. If you're given a theme, then you have to make most it. Basically, they first judge on the concept correlated to the theme. Then they look into technical aspects. That's why they eliminated Hessel's photo instead of the yellow one. The yellow one is more erotic to be honest even though it is a bad photo in terms of technical aspect.
