  • my older cousins and uncles we all grew up together in the same house.we were 7 and5 so they would make us go to bed.they were teenagers.after looking at these old horror movies my cousin ben who was a girl at the time would jump up and run to bed because the last person had to cut out all the lights.the house was creepy any way.my uncle use tell us a woman would come in his room at night and hold these flowers out to him to take when he would not take them she would go away..

  • Great classic, takes me back to my childhood on sat. night horror chiller thrillers movies

    Thanks much

  • Everytime Ygor as the monster says "Bohmer!" it sounds like "Boomer!" I keep waiting for a battlestar Gallactica pilot to walk into the scene.

  • Even though these movies were on a par with the serials, they still had some great acting. They were surreal and moody, and a whole lotta fun. The vampires were much more ghostly, mysterious and menacing, especially in Son of Dracula where we referred to as "mortals" a phrase that would stick through television and later movies.

  • strong but clumpsy

  • LOL

  • BOO!!!!

  • Iirc this was recently shown on the Svengoolie show and they didn't show the ending.Luckily I was able to catch the ending here. It's more enjoyable to watch the film on here anyway w/o having to put up with all that Svengoolie bs.I guess i'm a purist who liked it better when these films were on amc with a short intro and then the whole film was shown w/o interruption[the way they should be shown].

  • a very nice move

  • @mta798 MMM HMM

  • What gives? Hammer's Dr. Frankenstein swapped brains around like car parts, and HE never had to worry about tissue rejection!

  • @ironychan That's Hammer for you! They knew how to make Dr. Frankenstein a bit more awesome in some ways, but you must also consider the fact that the movie would have praobably ended with Ygor taking over the world if he'd have been an immortal giant with a devious brain AND 20/20 vision!

  • Lon Chaney Jr. was the best monster after Boris Karloff. This movie is also very good because the monster has a lot to do in the story. Unlike the later sequels "House of Frankenstein" and "House of Dracula" where he pretty much just lays around on an operating table and doesn't get up and walk around until about the last 5 minutes of the picture. Very Good! They need to make 'em like THIS again! I'm working on a couple of screenplays along these lines.

  • @NorbertZF Well, according to Mary Shelly's book Frankenstein's creation was supposed to be at least 7 feet tall, shockingly intelligent, rescourceful enough to get the best of even the toughest angry mob and so hard to kill even his own creator found himself outmatched every step of way! so yes, the monster should be able to do more than lie on a table. And keep working on those screenplays!

  • @leaderstragg Right

  • @NorbertZF RIP Lon Chaney, Jr.

  • The daughter brought the little girl down to her father. They escaped the gas and the fire. Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman is supposed to be the sequel to this, but I don't see how you get there from here. Here the monster is in a different town and the castle has been blown apart. In the next film, a good part of the castle is still standing and the monster is frozen underneath it. I guess you just gotta go with it.

  • @jdangiel The best advice I can give you is pretend that was in an alternate universe, continuity wasn't considered very important back then so plot holes like that snuck past pretty much EVERYONE!

  • I used to love watching those old films late on Friday night after the 11 PM local news. When I was a kid, the problems with the continuity never occurred to me. There is an even bigger problem in Son f Frankenstein. The conversation about people referring to the monster as Frankenstein is a great bit since it is commenting on the popularity of the monster, but if the whole world knows about it, how would it be possible for them to have any seclusion or privacy to continue experiments?

  • @jdangiel Authorities, reporters, scientists, everybody would have gone to that part of the world at some point, yet they have the castle and the town and the countryside pretty much all to themselves and the monster is runnng around undisturbed. I loved the surreal sets they used. Great stuff.

  • @jdangiel Yeah

  • @jdangiel IDK

  • what happened to the little girl? did i miss something?

  • @jamesedwardclard She was returned to her father by Frankenstein's daughter.

  • @leaderstragg Victor Or Edward?

  • This was a lot better than I remember. Not great, but fun.
