It is a crying shame that MLB wont let you put the actual video of this on here. They are nothing but jerks at MLB, how long can they claim the rights to this video a million years?
My grandmother dated him in high school, back when it was Charlestown Highschool- Not Fall Mountain Regional High School- Unforunately, his father past away a few weeks ago, and it was the biggest turn out of people in his home town.
Privileged to have watched this Live, on TV, having returned home from work about 45 minutes prior. Tremendous HR, (by an iconic player) game, teams, players, fans and stadium. Perfect.
Johnny Bench tells a great story about this home run. Pat Darcy is warming up and Bench knows he has absolutely nothing. Bench looks into the dugout and just shakes his head at Sparky Anderson. Fisk then hits the home run. Greatest game ever.
This was great! Carlton Fisk hits a home run to win the 1975 World Series!! Woo Hoo!! Yeah baby! Celebrate! Uh huh...........wait.....what? They didn't win that World Series? So why is this meaningless HR shown over and over again?
this video gives me chills up my spine :) i was not born yet but it feels like i was just there :) i love my Red sox and there history, good from bad.the good is 1918world-series, 2004 world-series,2007 world-series :) the bad 1999 ALCS,1975 ALCS,1986,world-series bill buckners error "ugh",2003 ALCS too and watching New-york get all those Championships, but i am still a fan no matter what :) GO Sox :)
I was 10 years old and at the apex of my baseball 'fandom'--and I remember this series as the greatest of all time. I was pulling for the Big Red Machine, and wasn't disappointed in the end, but this moment in Game 6 goes down as one of the all time most exciting in MLB history. What a game! And well worth the wait after getting rain-delayed for three days! Wow, what a series!!
yes i know, and if you look back on the series, the most memorable moment is that game, it shows how it would go back and forth and that homerun might be the most dramatic hit in playoff history. The red sox were no match against the reds, but they fought hard and made one of the best series in history.
damn...I feel bad now for what I said! You certainly are right...I will never forget that series and how nervous it made me. You got us back a few yrs ago in inter-league play
@thesoxpride10 I don't agree, Sox had better starting pitching than the Reds, and if they had Rice, who was injured would have had a better outfield. This was Reds third attempt to win Series in 1970's, and they had twice lost to teams with better pitching, A's and Orioles. As it was the Reds barely won this won. remember this Sox team would for next several years only slightly finish behind mega money spending Yanks of Steinbrenner Yanks, twice WS champs.
I enjoyed that. Great choice of music. I was 11 then, and lived in Boston. I remember the cover of the Boston Globe the next day - three pictures side by side by side: "Lynn in the first", "Carbo in the 8th", and "Fisk in the 12th." Each a shot of the batter following thru on his swing. What a time....
pretty amazing. I wasnt even alive by then, wish i was. best game ever played. about the music, i just took what onetruemedia gave me. the newspaper: awesome...

@thesoxpride10 Hey, this is the series we won 3 games to 4. And I was at this game. I still have my ticket. I was in the bleachers and paid $7.50.
