For a long time now people thought the Debarge family was Hispanic due to their looks and people thought their Stepfather who was Puerto Rican was their biological father. Debarge is French surname not Spanish.

If Chico is reading this, I truly hope that you and some other members of your famous family give up this nasty habit. Your such a talented group with enormous possibilities. I had a childhood friend that was into this scene and one day the lifestyle caught up with him, he was left for dead after being beat so bad that he was in a coma. He survived but his soul is gone, his beautiful heavy voice is gone and the person that I once knew no longer exist. I wish you luck with this fight.

I am so sick of how these doctors just continue to dole out oxycontin like Skittles. People don't understand that it's heroin in pill form, it's ridiculous how liberally it's prescribed. I had a friend that had pain from a C-section, the dumb assed doctor actually prescribed her oxycontin, while she was BREASTFEEDING no less. I was livid. You don't 't prescribe a nursing mother with heroin...and she didn't even have any idea what an intense drug it was until I told her. This needs to stop.

Every family in this town has at least one person addicted to 80's.. back in like 2003 time magazine had the town i live in on the cover of the mag calling it the oxy capitol. Its fucked up here. BTW it doesnt have heroin in it but its structure is almost the same as heroin chemically. if he cant stop using he needs 2 get on suboxone.

Thank you for bringing up suboxone because there are so many addicts who do not even know that this medication is out there. If you are really serious about kicking this horrible addiction, taking this is a miracle. I took my first pill and have never looked back. No staying for weeks at a rehab facility and you could possibly have a regular life thanks to this wonderful drug!
@stylecollective You can take opiates while preg. If a drug addict is preg and addicted they usually give them a long acting opiate like methadone or subutex to make sure they dont go into withdrawal. that puts alot more stress on the baby than the opiate does. i know it sounds bad for a child to be born addicted but most likely the CPS would take the kid and he/she would be slowly weaned off of the drug to minimize stress. ppl are starting to do more herion now tho cause its cheaper than 80's

No, they are only three years apart. While Chico still looks to have stopped the clock in his mid to late 30''s. Very gorgeous. James is like fine wine. He looks his age but seems to get more beautiful.

I am so sick of how these doctors just continue to dole out oxycontin like Skittles. People don't understand that it's heroin in pill form, it's ridiculous how liberally it's prescribed. I had a friend that had pain from a C-section, the dumb assed doctor actually prescribed her oxycontin, while she was BREASTFEEDING no less. I was livid. You don't 't prescribe a nursing mother with heroin...and she didn't even have any idea what an intense drug it was until I told her. This needs to stop.

it's true because they are giving it to old people. humans of all ages. i was researching on it the other day on wik..pida and it does have heroin in it. which i found distrubing . but i guess that's how it is now in the world... iam just thinking how can u get addicted to OXY.. that shit make feel like ya feet dont touch the floor my nanna had to use it because of her pain but she did't like the way it made her feel. no wonder MJ WASHOOKED ON SHIT I BLAME THE DOC'' CHICO IS STILL FLY.

@LadyDieselalexjr4lif i live in VA and the oxycontin thing is crazy down here. it started in my town about 99 or 2000 and hasn't done anything but get worse since. Every family in this town has at least one person addicted to 80's.. back in like 2003 time magazine had the town i live in on the cover of the mag calling it the oxy capitol. Its fucked up here. BTW it doesnt have heroin in it but its structure is almost the same as heroin chemically. if he cant stop using he needs 2 get on suboxone.

@baidey420 I agree with that 100%. Being addicted is horrible, and I am recovering taking it one day at a time. Thank you for bringing up suboxone because there are so many addicts who do not even know that this medication is out there. If you are really serious about kicking this horrible addiction, taking this is a miracle. I took my first pill and have never looked back. No staying for weeks at a rehab facility and you could possibly have a regular life thanks to this wonderful drug!

@stylecollective You can take opiates while preg. If a drug addict is preg and addicted they usually give them a long acting opiate like methadone or subutex to make sure they dont go into withdrawal. that puts alot more stress on the baby than the opiate does. i know it sounds bad for a child to be born addicted but most likely the CPS would take the kid and he/she would be slowly weaned off of the drug to minimize stress. ppl are starting to do more herion now tho cause its cheaper than 80's

chico and his family r too talented of a family to let drug's get to them, i am very glad to hear he's off of drugs, i know that it can b hard, i was a meth user. i got off it, it was hard at first,but with the help of my family and n,a,meetings that i went too, and with god'd blessing i have not use since 2006, and i will never go down that road again. to much to lose as i lost a good job&a good man, good luck chico. 10-18-09

Chico is still a good looking man. I am glad to hear that he has overcome his addiction to a control II substance (Oxycodone). Is it me or is he kind of jittery in this interview? As he [Chico] has acknowledged, recovery is a process.

He sounds like he is still struggling with his addiction. Which is understandable because of his family history all of them has it. I t is so sad I grew up on Debarge. No, they are only three years apart. While Chico still looks to have stopped the clock in his mid to late 30''s. Very gorgeous. James is like fine wine. He looks his age but seems to get more beautiful.
