that's pretty good. when i got to ride a rather green pony, it was my first time riding one as i have never been on a true green horse. you managed to get him to jump over that small crossrail. on top of that, you got him to canter aswell. the pony i was on, she didn't understand all the commands and it took a lot of effort just to get her to canter. and even then, it was only like, two strides. when we tried to jump her, she'd never been jumped before, poor thing was absolutely terrified of it.
i think you done very well. i know i lot of people who would of just given up. you are not to big for that pony your the right size and cosidering that pony is green you both done really well

I've worked with quite a few myself and i know how frustrating and how much of a pain in the ass green horses/ponies can be. i'm currently riding/training a green paint mare. She's a lot of fun, but she still needs work on her jumping skills. She's improved dramatically from when i first rode her. Kudos for taking on the job

I know you said not to leave critical comments but have you got this pony's back checked. He's quite unlevel and it's quite obvious from watching the video, you can see how much shorter he is on the left hind and also from the fact that he's much freer on the right rein.

there um I had been jumping for about 1 year i guess....He is a green pony though and knew nothing of jumping so we had to start small this was in the beginning of his training. I have jumped 3ft courses but at camp. My barn is actually more dressage, two Olympic dressage ppl run it so the barns jumping isnt very high. I have jumped 2'9 there but i had privates then but a teacher complained so we stopped

My pony's like this whenever he decides he doesn't really want to work, only his bucks tend to be a BIT larger, after gettign bucked off a few times I've learned how snap him out of it, life would be boring without these kind of horses
you looked really good even if it was a bad day. when he bucks, try to sit back. it wont throw you forward as much. i ride a horse who bucks and i have definatly learned! if he refuses turn him right around and make him jump it. and if hes being bad turn him in a tight circle, that way he knows hes in trouble and cant buck. maybe a crop. i understand you dont ride tigger anymore, but if you happen to ride another green horse, hopefully these tips will help! good job

i have a horse that i have just started jumping again and he keeps on running out but i jumped him today and he didn't run out at all! he is 10 now but still acts like a 4 yrold sumtimes!
im afraid i do not know hoe he is doing know he was sold in feburary to a one time owner. I do not know the person nor does my teacher so we have no updates of him.
I thought you did good. I am 12 and have helped train several horses to jump with my instructors help. It is not as easy as it looks. The hard part is keeping them straight and going after the jumps. Great job:)
thats pony is soo cute oh but not being mean but you shouldnt have stopped him right after every jump it will teach him that he can just stop after a course or jump you have to keep him going a little further but annnnny way cue pony!

I live in NYC thats right NYC it sucks for riding but its a nice place though pretty expensive(the downfall for me). I think that you did a great job. One thing that I noticed is that the saddle is way too far forward and it is common for horses to display all of this behavior when the saddle is blocking and uncomfortable. You should try it back about 10 inches (for real) and see if there is a difference. Good luck. :)

you let him get away with way to much shit. and when he takes bigger jumps make sure you release cause you din't and it looked bad, and your slamming your ass on his back.
i know i use to atnicpate going back after the jump but ive gotten over that and releasing. He is gone because he went sour after 5months of training by an advance person and some school lessons

This reminds me of my pony that I bought. I had to sell him because he had EXTREME behavioral issues and bit my mom so bad she needed stitches.
But he was so green, and I loved being able to train him how to canter, to jump, to ride smoothly. I miss him.

i have a horse that i have just started jumping again and he keeps on running out but i jumped him today and he didn't run out at all! he is 10 now but still acts like a 4 yrold sumtimes!

im afraid i do not know hoe he is doing know he was sold in feburary to a one time owner. I do not know the person nor does my teacher so we have no updates of him.

I thought you did good. I am 12 and have helped train several horses to jump with my instructors help. It is not as easy as it looks. The hard part is keeping them straight and going after the jumps. Great job:)

thats pony is soo cute oh but not being mean but you shouldnt have stopped him right after every jump it will teach him that he can just stop after a course or jump you have to keep him going a little further but annnnny way cue pony!

lol I didnt actually that was him stopping i never stopped him cause that was his problem that day. I understand though I was still learning myself but if i had a second chance I would know what to do. I was also kind of scared since it had been a while since i had been back on him after my fall on him but to be honest i dont remember

ummm Skinters3 the saddle isn't really WAY TO FAR FORWARD! it is supposed to be up against where it is I'm no expert but I know that much! Ihave ahorse and I ride! that wasn't supposed to be like.. mean or anything but.. ya. GREAT JOB RIDING equinerider4life~ I had to help my riding instructer train a horse that was only 4 .. he was pretty bad but I survived. It was kinda fun!! well great job! I'll ttyl maybee byee

I am currently 15 but this video is one year old...i was 14 when i started with him. I live in NYC thats right NYC it sucks for riding but its a nice place though pretty expensive(the downfall for me). Thats why i work there but i currently also work at singing to get money which helps right now since i cant work all the time being a student. how about you? jw

I think that you did a great job. One thing that I noticed is that the saddle is way too far forward and it is common for horses to display all of this behavior when the saddle is blocking and uncomfortable. You should try it back about 10 inches (for real) and see if there is a difference. Good luck. :)

you let him get away with way to much shit. and when he takes bigger jumps make sure you release cause you din't and it looked bad, and your slamming your ass on his back.

i know i use to atnicpate going back after the jump but ive gotten over that and releasing. He is gone because he went sour after 5months of training by an advance person and some school lessons
