i have a problem using this same motherboard, but i have a problem trying to make my secod HD as a slave disk. the manual wont help that much on how to do this on the BIOS, could you be kind to tell me on how properly set up the bios to read as slave ?so i can finally use it, the OS is Vista home 64
@geoisonfire then why is that there is a problem that wont accept the WD HD? do i need to do an additional set up on the Bios. ? what you think is going on wrong?
@mxr2000 I was asking what happen if you only connect your 1st HD, if it works, but the 2nd one does not work, check go into your bios and check the boot order and other stuff, its not that hard, if it still does not work, chances are you need to find someone to take a look at your computer or getting another HD see if it works or not
@geoisonfire the first HD with the OS Vista works fine but the second port won't read the slave HD at all. what i have for second option as boot is the DVDR player since there is no OS on the slave HD..
@pimpchryz depends on you x4 635 itself, the mobo itself does a reall good job of the unlocking, it unlock my buddie's x2 555 to x4 and stable at 3.5ghz on stock cooler, but won't unlock my x3 720
where do you buy your motherboards from? i looked for the m4a785-m on tigerdirect and newegg both stopped selling it.

@mxr2000 then it doesn't matter. Slave only matters if you are using IDE. For SATA, they are all the same.

@pimpchryz depends on you x4 635 itself, the mobo itself does a reall good job of the unlocking, it unlock my buddie's x2 555 to x4 and stable at 3.5ghz on stock cooler, but won't unlock my x3 720
