  • I PLAYED THE BASSOON ON THIS SONG!!in a different band of course :3

    BASSOONPOWER!!!!

  • I have a bass clarinet solo in this song!

  • brass needs some work but other than that good performance and there is a tom solo where those awkward pauses are :p

  • I am playing this tomorrow and i hate it due to all the high notes, go clarinets! (and saxes)

  • the video reply to this is much better

  • It sounds awesome! My schools 8th grade band is playing this. But, isn't there a toms solo at measure 111? I didn't hear any toms at all actually... It made n me feel bad XD just kidding. But why isn't that part there? That's my part, do I know it's there. Ever notice those awkward pauses in 111? That's where the toms were supposed to be. But excluding that, it sounded really good.

  • wow...I stongly value your band!! I'm a sophmore in high school, and we're working on this piece with a 9-10 band. Great job!! Piccolo solo is beautiful! :) congrats!

  • were playing this song in my band this year at out holiday concert and our first saxophones couldnt get measure 50-59 down so our instructor is cutting it out and giving us trumpet parts. im first chair and i was like WHAT! we also do things slihtly different. we dont sing and somewhere near the end we have a trombone solo. its pretty cool.

  • GO BASS CLARINET

  • Wow my band played this but not nearly as fast as u

  • we're playing this at CHIAWANA! I'm 2nd flute . AND IT'S EASY FOR ME ! And i'm a freshman :3 But I hate singing |:<

  • man sean o laughlin is the man

  • the tribal groove part was just terrible!

  • the first clarinet part of this peace is really hard.

  • were playing this in our 8th grade band and im first chair flute. this song is EXTREMELY difficult on flutte. theres a ton of 16th notes

    ;p

  • @daniiiiox yeah same here.. my whole band breaks out into laughter when we have to sing :\ then we get yelled at haha

  • @CDiamondz25 haha we sightread this a few weeks ago and we sounded awful. we sound decent now butt i have the picc solo too and i keep messing up :/

  • @CDiamondz25 same xD

  • @daniiiiox grade 8! wow... our band is grade 10-12 and we found it hard enough!

  • @daniiiiox my band played this song this year. Although we are most likely older with our band consisting of 9-12 graders... Most of us probably have more musical experience than the people in you band.. We were playing this song just as fast as this band and most of us found the song fairly easy to play.. I'm a trombone player so obviously my part won't be as hard as your flute part but we have a flute player in which this is her first year playing. She picked up quite fast ont he song..

  • @daniiiiox Oh no, 16th notes!

    Man up.

  • ohmaaaan those quarter triplets were BRUTAL

other than that, i thought your performance was pretty awesome :)

  • kealing middle school did better... check it out

  • Bass Clarinet part during the solo was played wrong...

  • I love this song, My school band is Playing, I was hoping to play the flute for this one, but I got with percussion....I love this song, but to techiniqual

  • I miss playing this piece!

  • Oh we're doing this for competition!

I play the french horn and im alone

yea at angular, the rhythms are RIDICULOUS, but we got it.

its just that by the time I get half way through high notes my face gets tired and I cant do all of them any more

  • im a french horn player too

we already played this song at are winter concert

    it was fun to play

  • our grade 7 & 8 band are doing this for black history month. I love this song sooo much but it`s realy HARD because i play the sax and I`m doing those really high notes by my self

  • the g from the bases at 4.44 should have been a lot louder and boomier but it sounded kind of unsure, not like the rest of the peice. Good job. Especially with voice projection and great crispness at 4.48-4.52, our band has some trouble with that small section. great!

  • My high school band is playing this for our Christmas concert. We totally fail at it.

    =/

  • At 5:00 there's a great cascading bell part that I didn't hear! But you guys played it very well, very tight and crisp during the intense and angular sections. I might upload our band's version of this.

  • my school owned this song! lol

  • I'm playing this in band right now too.

  • the percussion section has more parts

but the piccolo part is my favorite

and at measure 75 is when everything gets so awesome

  • My high school band is playing this right now.. It is such a hard piece!!!!!... I love this song

  • BEST EVER AT 3:13

  • NICE from 3:53-the end!! The rhythms there are MONSTERS that I'm trying to tackle :P

  • Wow you guys were really good.

My middle school played this and we failed.

It's a hard song and you did it well.

    Good job. =)

  • awesome guys! Its a hard song

  • Awesome bass clarinet at 1:40 ! <3

  • The clarinet part is so hard, but it's a fun song to play :)

  • Thins is amazing.. you guys nailed the technical stuff like no one buisenss.. good job on thoese runs clarinets!!

  • my band is doing this song tomorrow.. nice job on the pic. solo

  • My high school band and I are playing this. I like this song.

  • My middle school band is playing this for the holiday season, along with Sleepers Wake by J.S Bach, such a lovely song!

  • Very good! We are playing this in bad too.

  • I played this in my highschool band. I love the song so much when I have a child I will name her Imani

  • I have to play this in one of my concerts.

  • our 8th grade band is playing this. We just got the piece 2day so we sound rly bad, still need ppl 2 audition 4 solo, 2 bad im a reg. clarinet. sounds alright at the moment, we have most of the kids from all-state in our school, very helpful, sadly we can;t sing lol.

  • well, you can't expect to know this in one day.

  • Nice! My school is doing this song for the next concert. I hope we sound as good as this.

  • Intro Was A Tab to Slow/I Love That Piccolo Part..Persussion To LOUD..cant Here Bass Clarinet Part...Fast Tempo Part was a Tb to Fast(But Me Like Da Fact Da Can Move Fingers Dat FAST)Da Ritars Needed To Be More Slower so can make an Statement...Dis Could Have been BETTER..Singing Part was GOOD

  • two of my bandmates recommended i watch this after looking it up themselves because we're playing it. i can see why!

you guys do the singing really well... unfortunately, we suck at it lol

  • Imani just might be the single greatest band song ever.

  • Bass Clarinet rushed a lot during the piccolo solo...sounds good though, love this song

  • oh dude my band works in some claves during that flute and/or piccolo solo instead of the accented snare part

  • Where is the triangle? Best part of the song, IMO.

  • My High school concert band is playing this song for our Christmas concert. Ours sounds almost exactly like this, your might be a little better though.
