Mankind has been arround for a very long time, but a lot would have lived shorter lives. There are things such as disease that have killed many people. More people died from disease after the first world war than in both world wars put together. This is why we dont have trillions of people.

There are fossil records that prove evolution and it is absurd to not believe it. I am doing an RS exam later today at school. It is my GCSE's, one thing i noticed from reading this is how ignorant you are.

Stasis is the absence of macro evolution in a species over long evolutionary periods. AKA punctuated equilibrium. It just means that the current evolutionary strategy is sufficient enough to not have pressures for change. But it is still evolving. Take a croc 200 mya and today, they would be very different by comparison, but still very much croc.

There are literally tens of thousands of fossils online and at natural history museums. Do the research.

Albert Einstein said God doesn't play dice with the universe. He didn't believe in a personal God. Einstein said he was more of an agnostic. He was a scientist who thought the universe has a deep structure. It is filled with patterns to the extent that there may be nothing more. Big bang theory postulates that before the universe as we know it there was a singularity. This is based on evidence (the opposite of faith). Prior to that we can only speculate... for now.

My actual claim was "that we have a greater understanding of the world than bronze age farmers", but if intelligence is valued in our society then natural selection will assure that we will become smarter over time. Arguably Hawking has greater intelligence than Newton, but only a fool would claim Newton had greater understanding.

The origin of the universe has probably to do with the changing of the vacuum state, figuratively speaking, changing from a liquid, featureless vacuum essentially of pure energy, into a frozen vacuum in which the duality between energy and matter persists and gives rise to emergence of complexity. According to vehement christians, the scientists who came up with this theory, are in hell for blaspheming against scripture, and there is no denying that the bible would have 'demanded' that.

Our knowledge is limited to what we can see in the universe. Most people would say the universe is by definition, everything. If the universe is everything, talking about what was before or beyond it, must be talking about nothing. It is nice to be curious and adventurous but the boundaries of the universe in time and space are boundaries for our exploration even in imagination. There is nothing there so any attempt to dream about it is only going to create something in your mind.

If the universe is everything, the theory of multiple universes is a contradiction of terms. The universe would then refer to the set of entities from which we once thought one was the universe. These physical rules and the assumptions this math you speak of is based on is on what was learned while living in our universe. These rules quite likely have no jurisdiction in this imaginary place beyond or before the universe(everything we know). The ideas about things before are pure speculation.

If you are thinking of the multiple universes theory stemming from there being a different "universe" for any of the different physical constants, that theory still limits the possibilities. It is limited like a straight line on a plane has an infinite number of points but still doesn't include all points on the plane. Math must be based on assumptions which can be completely wrong. We can only learn in our environment so extending assumptions like that is wrong like a blanketing stereotype.

We may never know explicit details of the origins of the universe with a high degree of certainty, but the only people I hear claiming to arrive at something/everything from nothing are the same people who base their "knowledge" on hideously out of date texts. They either falsely claim this of big bang theory, or claim that their god created the universe from nothing.

Yes, there is a conspiracy afoot - that there is any significant doubt in the scientific community about the theory of evolution.

Anyway, this was simply an analogy. My point was that the role of spirituality in society is philosophical, not to get involved in scientific debate. We don't expect the authors of such an old text to have our knowledge, which is not to say that the church can't provide philosophical guidance.

The "ends" or four corners of the earth is actually in reference to the cardinal directions: north, south, east, and west. Similar terminology is often used today when we speak of the sun's rising and setting, even though the earth, not the sun, is doing the moving.

In the Old Testament, Job 26:7 explains "He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing", the obvious comparison being with the spherical sun and moon.

Despite your name I believe you have the best intentions. You are free to interpret ancient texts as you see fit. However, "theory", in scientific terms is the highest status achievable which deliberately leaves the door ajar for alternative hypotheses and is based on evidence and peer review. Alternatively, philosophical theory is merely an idea.

Actually the Dover trial made it very clear that ID is pseudo-science and nothing more than relabelled creationism. It also presented vast amounts of evidence for evolution.

If you fear your beliefs won't stand up to the evidence and refuse to look, then you should question whether value these beliefs more than the truth.
