  • Excellent picture quality but sound like a sixties mono record!

  • wow.

  • Excellent!

  • I hate the conductor.

  • @CowHoofOnAHotPlate MTT IS SO AWESOME!!!!

  • Are there any saxophone player in that band orechesta?

  • @gy1952 there's never any saxes in orchestras. all those snooty string players don't think saxes are real instruments, i guess....

  • @wilky1189 It's just that saxophones aren't considered orchestra instruments.

  • @wilky1189

It's just that saxes were invented really recently in the world of music. And so most of the pieces in the classic repertoire just don't have sax parts written for them because they sort of didn't exist. But saxes are still pretty cool instruments. :P

  • @wilky1189 there are a few orchestral pieces featuring the saxophone, most famous I think would be ravel's Bolero.

  • It's videos like this that make me want a "standing ovation" button. Because I didn't just "like" it, that was awesome!

  • @bucsfan2580 i was totally respecting your opinion untill i noticed bucs fan...lol

  • Classical music is great because of its timelessness. Techno, rap, rock n roll, hip hop, and other types of music died or will die, but classical is classic.

  • @MarkTimchuk Really? I thought it was great because of sound :O

  • @MarkTimchuk I hope this music will never die. But if we listen at music nowadays(everything is a fucking shit) , I regret to say that it's quite unlikely classical music will survive.

  • The music is so great, but why does the conductor have to launch into lengthy tirades every now and then...seems he is infected by Indian politicians...

  • 4:19 Those guys at the top left are completely frozen.

  • Just a thought, but...

for a Youtube Symphony thing, think of doing compositions that are related to the famous youtube vidoes

(Double Rainbow March, Bed Intruder Sonata, or Ghost Ball Suite!)

    idk...just thinking out loud...sort of

  • waiting for an opportunity to sit in the middle of such this beautiful orchestra...

  • i went to the symphony orchestra for a field trip!

  • This is totally awesome!!!

  • Classical music endangered? no please, not while we'd exist; may I embrace the opportunity to ask if it be possible , interesting to anyone to continue what Waldo de los Rios, as I'd understand , wanted to do but he only got about 3 albums. "make classical music a little more striking , likeable, to especially very young kids not really from privileged homes as one of your young lads stated, he didn't ever see himself playing that kind of music, but there he is. Possible love adina

  • i am in the symphony i thin k]

  • "Juventud, divino tesoro ..." Excelente, Maestro. Excelente, jovenes. Congratulations !!!

  • PARABÉNS AO NOSSO YOUTUBE POR PRESTAR MAIS UM SERVIÇO A TODOS NÓS INTERNAUTAS ; NESTE CASO MAIS UMA FONTE DE PRAZER E LAZER Djalma Morais,, Copacabana, Rio - Brasil Grato

  • In my opinion, I believe the string instruments are the most difficult to play! If it's not well tuned it sounds like a dying cat, if the bow hasn't had rossin in a while it won't make a sound, If you don't exert enough pressure with the bow to the string it'll squeak! If it's too much it'll squeak even louder!!! If your new at playing it...ugh (like me) If you've simply not the talent it's a pain. OH and holding against your chin and collar bone...OUCH

    But it's worth it :)

  • @natli95 i know how you feeeeeel!! D=

it is SUCH a pain! but in the end it is soooooooooooo worth it ♥

  • I love how classical music has the power to get your heart racing, or sleepy and melancholic; it's truly wonderful!!

  • This makes me wish I was old enough to be in this orchestra. But no fear, in a few years time, I'm definitely auditioning!

  • if their a next time...

can you play BEETHOVEN SYMPHONY no.9

i so much love that song... ^^

ill waiting for that youtube.. ^^

  • This is beautiful.

  • I love how Nina holds her flute when she isn't playing . "Look guys! I haz a flute! :D"

  • Youtube, you rock. I love the photography and quality of all of these videos. They are almost as good as actually going to a concert! It is really cool to see all the different sections so close! Thanks so much keep up the good work

  • 15 people fail..

  • @sumitvids 16 now. I swear 16 people are either deaf or they hate classical music...

  • @crystalthedrummer

sorry to disappoint you dynamics are almost non existent

    Geoffrey

  • Amazing.

  • I would like to speak on behalf of modern society... Eh ehm: "Classical is for fags and rap is da bomb yo."

  • @AeroheadLS You pretended to speak on behalf of modern society, but you ended up speaking on behalf of a primitively prejudiced part of the society.

  • @AeroheadLS

    Sorry, not true!

  • waaaaaaooo que orquesta tan graaaande quisiera estar en una haci tocando lo que toco "viola"

  • uau si ai notas en un moimentito madre mia

  • Not the easiest piece but you all make it a walk in the park! Simply awesome and Tchaikovsky would probably be satisfied as he download this in his grave. Truly an amazing group and surely the bar set is mighty good for the Sydney's batch!

  • This is so amazing...

  • @joescarafone your statement didn't make any sense.

  • @rickardo004 oops, wrong video

  • @rickardo004 i thought I was commenting on another video. Sorry.

  • 1:04 must take heaps of skill to bang the symbols at the right time and power

  • too fast...

  • LOONEY TUNES!

  • sounds like one of those music when mickey mouse tried to do magic while merlin was gone.

  • I don't like the camerman, he must not like low brass! Come on now.

  • @LLJtbone I agree, they never show the euphonium player. Oh wait, Youtube Symphony doesn't have euphonium players X.x

  • @HacksawsVLogger Well damn it maybe they should have a euphonium player ;-)

  • @LLJtbone Agreed!! :D

  • THANK YOU YOUTUBE for keeping Classical music alive :) well, not that it was endangered or anything.

  • @rickardo004 Keeping it strong perhaps?

  • fantastic! I want to see the cymbal players audition tape! hehe ;)

  • Making people thrilled and happy from such well played music-- what a wonderful group of young, talented musicians! Thank you Google-YouTube for having this brilliant idea of creating a symphony orchestra from these tip-top musicians apparently from around the world! May the YTSO be with us year after year, enriching our lives and offering the chance for young people to fall in love with classical music (especially with Tchaikovsky, my favorite composer).

  • please, open call to participate as part of this orchestra!

  • What a way to endeavor to save the performing arts!!! As an aspiring composer, this gives me hope that my work will be performed someday and as a vocalist I really hope that I get to perform with a group like this soon!!!

  • Does anyone know how old you have to be to audition for this? I just have no idea, and I can't find out on any websites. I would LOVE to do this if I could though!

  • very good congratulations .... I invite you to stop by our channel hope you like it. Caracas Youth Symphony .. "OSJCVideos"

  • I always wanted to see a streeker hit up the orchestra

  • I bet the violinists had incredibly sore necks after playing this piece!

  • Nina Perlove at 1:18! Flutist on the far left.

  • American Sydeshow supports your endeavors!

  • I love this piece. I played this during my senior year of high school and it is amazing to hear it performed with this group. Thank you for the memory.

  • What a fantastic idea!

  • Absolutely amazing

  • This is Incredible!

  • Music like this should still exist today! I love classical since i was a baby and i forever will!

  • @southwestguy223 some as me

  • @southwestguy223 i think it does. there are some very good modern pieces out there

  • @southwestguy223 You're an absolute moron if you don't think it still exist today you're either musically immature or just dumb.

  • The camera man doesn't seem to know the distinction between a French Horn and a Trombone...

  • Really great idea with a YouTube Symphony Orchestra :) I like it a lot :)

  • Wow! LOL!

  • amazing

  • youtube should do this again

  • Imagine if you were the cymbals person for an orchestra. "Yeah I'm in this really famous orchestral group... but I only play my instrument for about two or three beats in the whole song."

  • @KidsWithGuns1992 ...we switched parts every piece. It's not like she ONLY played cymbals!

  • @YourDreamTheater Yeah I realize she would have swapped instrument, was making a joke which you mustn't of picked up on.

  • Молодцы, ребята!!! Это наша ЦИВИЛИЗАЦИЯ!!!! это МЫ на ЗЕМЛЕ!!! Да продлятся наши дни!!!

  • they move so much, they're way worser than me.

  • @Tamster107

Yes, they do. But the question is, do you play better than them? Empty brag is way worser, I presume.

  • @herakles120

absolutely notThey're- awesome, and that wasn't a brag. I'm not that kind of musician.

  • Michael Tilson Thomas, You Tube Orchestra about a year ago, Pyotr Illyich Chaikovski. Simfonia IV. From Russia with love...one thing...it is just personal...but i think it is too fast in some places. Michael talks to the orchestra with his eyes and his baton, he communicates the piece. He is simply giving the orchestra their cues. He knows the piece so well. The orchestra are fine, remember this is Chaikovsky he wrote beautifully, with so much love and care. Charming. What did they learn playing?

  • no matter who plays them, the bassoon is like the most ridiculous instrument. Aside from that, great performance (and yeah yeah, bassoons are good too)

  • AWESOME

  • btw she's hot

  • It's a very interesting project and it's a very good orchestra!

    Compliments to Google and YouTube!!!!

  • 9:08 to the end. way to go cymbal player!!!

  • Well, this is almost depressing. I'll never be as good as the worst person there. lol

  • @MegaCaptainOblivious

So why is that depressing? Not trying to minimize your aspirations but don't understand why that's depressing.

  • @TheOtherView Don't get me wrong, I fully enjoyed their playing, I just wish that I had a chance at attaining near-perfection like that. I was not being fully serious, my saying that was mainly a figure of speech, but I do slightly feel that way. :)

  • @MegaCaptainOblivious i know i can be as good as the cymbal girl

  • @wartree

Sorry to say but you're stupid. As someone who has been principal percussionist of an All State Orchestra I can tell you cymbals are a very difficult instrument to master.

  • @dmh091 you are being snobby, of course it can be more complex than it looks, but it is clearly much easier than the most. I tell you i could play her part on the first go if i had the music sheet in front of me. Dont tell me giberish, if you think cymbals are a very difficult intrument, you are either being snobby or just never tried any other intrument.

  • @wartree

You should really have more respect. You can probably do an awful job and hit 10% of the notes decently on your first try.

  • @wartree i am sorry, but you are wrong. the crash cymbals take years to master. if you got the music; first, you would get lost counting 150million measures of rest, second, you would pocket almost every other note. and the ones you dont pocket, will sound like poo.

  • @cajunstix and the percusionist insist again, you know guys, it isnt only you guys that use rhythm, other instruments those who have the ability to play different notes also use the rhythm, and also use dynamics , etc, etc.

Dont come at me and say that cymbals are extremely hard to play. To master? Thats an overstatement, i dont know if any human being is in the right to sayi he masters something.

  • @wartree Nope. I'm the bass drum player here, and I can tell you that Michael Tilson Thomas demanded absolute perfection from the cymbal player. She was under the most intense pressure for this entire piece. I cannot tell you how many times she was singled out during rehearsals because MTT had a very specific cymbal sound that he was envisioning.

It takes years and years to be able to slightly alter your cymbal sound based on conductor's demands... and then replicate it 30 times.

  • you have a crush on her

  • Is the guy third from the left/ second from the right at the back playing a bass trombone at 4:40? I'm a bass trombonist, this is a great piece and it is superbly played!

  • The Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar sounds better.
