I love animals. I do. In my opinion, fur is absolutely unnecessary; there are a plethora of realistic alternatives if that certain look is desired. On the other hand, I do eat meat, and see nothing wrong with it. It is human nature; we are biologically inclined to do so. My problem comes when the raising/slaughtering of these meat sources is inhumane. Those not meeting certain codes for slaughter should be rectified, but most do it in a good manner.

A young child died from not getting the proper protein/nutrients because the parents forced their child to be a vegan. And even adults need to be careful to eat a certain amount of protein pills / vitamin pills and the like to keep everything healthy. No one can live off of JUST fruit or JUST vegetables. And its hard to avoid all animal products. Tooth paste, various types of plastic, etc. all use animals.

The entire fur trade isn't like this. Some fur farms are smaller, family run ones, not huge ones with 30 or 40+ foxes and minks. I've spoken with people who own, or are related to someone who owns a smaller fur farm. Just like there are the smaller, family-run industrial farms, where they care deeply for the animals until they have to kill them. Same goes for trapping (cont'd in next comment)

i don't necessarily think these people are cruel. it's what they're doing is cruel. and it's not like they're evil; they've just lost a sensitivity for animals most people still have. they've probably been in the industry for so long they've just become desensitized to doing it. in today's society (more recently, at least) we're being raised to treat animals kindly and frown upon abuse. i think it's all about how you've grown up, really.

I love animals. I do. In my opinion, fur is absolutely unnecessary; there are a plethora of realistic alternatives if that certain look is desired. On the other hand, I do eat meat, and see nothing wrong with it. It is human nature; we are biologically inclined to do so. My problem comes when the raising/slaughtering of these meat sources is inhumane. Those not meeting certain codes for slaughter should be rectified, but most do it in a good manner.

A young child died from not getting the proper protein/nutrients because the parents forced their child to be a vegan. And even adults need to be careful to eat a certain amount of protein pills / vitamin pills and the like to keep everything healthy. No one can live off of JUST fruit or JUST vegetables. And its hard to avoid all animal products. Tooth paste, various types of plastic, etc. all use animals.

The entire fur trade isn't like this. Some fur farms are smaller, family run ones, not huge ones with 30 or 40+ foxes and minks. I've spoken with people who own, or are related to someone who owns a smaller fur farm. Just like there are the smaller, family-run industrial farms, where they care deeply for the animals until they have to kill them. Same goes for trapping (cont'd in next comment)

I love animals and I am pro-fur when it's used for things like taxidermy. And did you know hunters/trappers also are environmentalists? They don't all just kill to kill. i don't necessarily think these people are cruel. it's what they're doing is cruel. and it's not like they're evil; they've just lost a sensitivity for animals most people still have. they've probably been in the industry for so long they've just become desensitized to doing it. in today's society (more recently, at least) we're being raised to treat animals kindly and frown upon abuse. i think it's all about how you've grown up, really.
