yeah right the funny thing is they're both sparring partners,it's alright when you got guys like hapoate,haumono,tauasa who are all full-time boxers and you got guys like leapai,briggs,wilson who work fucken hours and then add in the training sessions to their schedule....yeah that'll be fucken right, but hey!! give alex confidence and experience he needs and i promise you, he'll be up their.
I'll agree that Leapai is a bit raw but he can punch and can take a punch and is clever enough to maximise his strengths than try to change himself into some heavyweight version of sugar ray leonard. I rate Alex Leapai and would like to see him fight Colin Wilson for the Australian title because I think Leapai would knock Colin Wilson out.
thats the problem every boxer he challenged already tried uppecuts/hooks/jabs etc and guess...it didn't phase alex at all,alex fights his opponents on how he see's them eg height,stance,movement,weakness etc & alex picked it up.have a great day..
i still reckon that head-down, wide winging punches style is downright dangerous...great against a stationary target but against a boxer with decent skills he's gotta use jab more, and throw combos. and dont look down!
