  • Your riding stance needs some work. Close your shoulders already

  • Very Nice ya I just got Go Pro and suction cup mount and I'm planning on using it for the direction I'm going but ya snow in the lens is a concern thought maybe mounting it in the middle of the board but don't know if it will be tall enough to see over my boots in all very nice Vid thanks for posting

  • took 25 seconds to strap in...

  • this is the worst video on youtube

  • look in the sun theres a black dot

  • ok cool you can turn but how about learning how to maual or revert or jump or grab

  • Was it difficult taking the mount off of your board? because i am planning on putting mine on a the side of a sailboat in 2012 but the sailboat isnt mine, its my boat clubs so would you recomend doing that or would it be to difficult to take off with like one of the adhesive mounts?

  • sweet! it looks like a solar eclipse..look at the sun lol. im asking for a GoPro video camera for Christmas, hopefully I'll get it!!!! then i'll post a vid of me snowboarding or something...idk..again, SWEET video!! :D

  • loose the leash

  • Sick. How about turning it 180 degrees? That's possible?

  • @BloteAapOpVoeten Yes, you can slide the camera in to the mount from the other end. The problem is, unless you are on packed snow, the lens gets covered with snow very quickly, and messes up your shot. I think moving the mount point further away from the nose, and closer to the center-line of the board would help prevent this... also adding one of the extension arms between the camera and the mount point to elevate the camera would probably help too.

  • @phrend That's rad. I'll subscribe to you and see if you ever post a video of that :)

  • the sun is black

  • THE SUN HAS A BLACK HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • u look like an army man in ur green suit :P

  • WINTER 2012.... nice vid... im debating on getting one.... try keaping ur shoulders even with ur hips instead of a 90degree angle helps you get more speed ... lay off ur edgealil and ull get less resistance unless u were turning alot but u cant really tell because the camera is on the board... im all into speed and how fast i can go and how can i go faster... im not into tricks even thot thats where the sport is at .... have fun make more vids keap it up

  • lol can;t wait for winter 2012

  • too noisy, maybe edit it with some sick ass dubstep...

  • gopro is so legit... its a shame people cant read. every you tube video they expect back flips and avalanches

  • nice test run!

  • is this the gopro 960p or SD????

  • do u use the go pro surf expansion?

i am wondering how strong it has to be and how u fix it, cause i am a bit scared evertime that i lose it :D

  • Did the same set up myself at Mammoth over the last week. On the second day the adhesive finally gave up so watch out for that especially if the board is going repeatedly from warm to cold conditions over a period of time. :-)

  • Black hole sun?

  • What quality did you film?

  • @Reneator It's the Standard Def GoPro camera at it's highest quality.

  • The sun is blue :O

  • the suns so bright the middle is black

  • oh yea do the hump!

  • didnt really understand the point of buying a gopro unless you were going to make an edit of you hitting something but otherwise pretty good video

  • @hockeyman860 Well... this was the 2nd or 3rd run I tried using the camera... I was still testing it out to make sure that the mount wasn't going to fall off of my board.

  • lol repeatedly hit 8

  • looks like hes humping the air in this mount, but cool though, but no really a place to mount unless going off jumps or something.

  • @ phrend: what kind of mount did you use?

  • is it just me or does anyone else see that random black dot in the middle of the sun :0 ?.....

  • Killin' the Blue Square run at Mammoth!! ;)

  • I think it would be cool to have a mounted came facing the other way to be honest. could you do that?

  • @Bdawg71692 I've tried that, but the snow that my board kicks up covers the lens within a few seconds. :(

  • black dot in the sun!

  • Cool demonstration. Two questions; Was it the suction cup mount that you used, and what setting did you have the camera on?

This will be the first snowboarding season with my goPro and I want to try this and a few other 'on board' mounting positions. I'm glad someone tried it before me because I was afraid the vibration on groomers might be too much for the cam's little sensor to handle. Turns out the results aren't that bad. Good stuff, nice work! Looking forward to trying this myself.

  • @sandmanx5 I used the flat 3M mount that came with it. I tied a shoelace to the base of the clear case and back to my leg in case the mount failed, but it never has. I should mention that one of my clear case mount points did eventually break - not sure if it was from all the bouncing around being attached to my board, or just a manufacturing flaw?

  • imagine how funny this would be just watching him from the side :P

  • Thumbs up if you think @TheMightyRideout needs to learn how to spell

  • Thunbs up if you think for matching is for skiers and you look like a noob with a carma attached to your bored and your just carving

  • waste of my time bro do somethin cool.

  • oi mate your technioque needs work, it looks like your humping an invisable cow and doing that is only gonna make u fall over and bend your u will find u get more control.

p.s dont do your bindings on the ground, your not 9 years old

  • pause at 1:15 theres a black sun

  • Judging by the comments below, people don't read video descriptions...or maybe they can't read. @phrend The camera has a really nice picture even at high speeds. How did you mount it to your board?

  • @integratedpros Thanks - yeah, nobody seems to read that this was just a test of the camera and mount... I used the flat 3M mount that came with the camera and it's worked great - no problems with it coming off the board, or the camera popping out of the mount.

  • @phrend can you reuse the 3M mounts after removing it from where ever you stuck it?

  • @phrend if it gets wet, it will come off muchhh easier..mine cam off while kneeboarding..lost it for two days..then found it

  • @injuremyself i didnt see any wobbling happen just some fast turns towards the end to slow down abit im guessing + the angle shows you the more technical side of it rather than where he is going

  • theres a black dot in the sun!!

  • @XxXJayPayXxX most cameras do that to avoid being damaged by too bright of a light, dont ask me why thats just what i was told. haha

  • ??where did you have the camera mounted at i tried mounting mine on the front of the board but i can never get the angle you have :((( and did you use velcro to mount it ??

  • @2026820 It's mounted a few inches back from the tip near the toe edge. I think your problem may be that you mounted the camera case directly to the mount on your board - I added the "Pivot Arm Assembly" in between, which gives you more flexibility as far as pointing the camera.

  • @phrend does the pivot arm assembly come with the hd helmet hero?

  • hahahahahah black spot in the sun the world is ending :P

  • only feet

  • worst angle from a go pro cam.

  • the only thing i see is foot

  • how did you fix the camera on the board?

  • the sun has a black hole in!!!

  • What resolution setting did you use?

  • Try not to swing your hips as much. This is snowboarding, not hula hoop. Us your back foot to do all the work :)

  • @CanibusPops dude back foot?

  • @CanibusPops false!

  • .... its ... crap ... well ive been to mammoth and really had fun, hope you had fun too...

  • DUH GUYS, he uploaded this video to show the meteorite coming from the sun to kill us..lol duh guys cmon

  • @pailhead11: hahahahaha - yeah, I got some at the end of that season! Those pants actually aren't too short for me when I'm walking around, but the bottoms get pushed up when I step in to my bindings... but I'm certainly not in it for the fashion - it's all about the ride.

  • @SnoSnipah1: Yes, the video was shot at Mammoth - the mic on the GoPro really sucks when it's in the waterproof case. The video was shot at the end of the season, so the snow was packed and groomed.

@lamoatu716: Yup - hope you had as much fun as I did this season! :)

@Subitzer: Yeah - I do really crank my bindings down - I guess I've never found the perfect boot for my feet, but when I crank the binding down, I have more control of my board.

  • @phrend something you can try to gain better control over your boarding instead of clamping the bindings down so tight is if you close your front shoulder up and ride in the back seat less. When you lean back and counter rotate your upper body like that you lose practically all control of the forward edges, which are what make your board turn.. board control starts at your ankles and everything above that should follow. Hope that helps you out :)

  • you sure this was mammoth??? it sounds more like east coast snow. Maybe you meant to write Hunter Mtn, NY haha

  • Damn i miss snowboarding...

  • Looks like you went down from Chair 1 down Stump Alley. Nice.

  • i dont think your binding can go any tighter, god damn.

  • Dude, i think you need some bigger pants

  • kronic - hilarious ;p the dude looks funny as hell

  • is that lake louise?

  • looks kinda like it im headed there this weekend

  • oh wow, it say it in the title, mammoth CA. im retarded

  • What did you use to mount it? Does the 3m adhesive work well?

  • @seven7hirty Yeah, I used the flat 3M mount, and it has not come loose.
