I just started to sing this song out loud the other day and it reminded me of how great of a band these guys were......had all and still have all their stuff on vinyl and cassette.....
I agree with you 100%! Every time I hear the opening chords to this song, I keep thinking of Echo and the Bunnymen as well! I mean, I like this band - I'm just noting a similarity.
Hard to believe Chris Tate would ever write jingles. Great to know that he's supporting songwriters through SOCAN and aongwriting workshops, Would love to hear something new by him and the gang.
now if you started reading this dont stop its really scarey!ok send this to five other videos in 143 minutes. When you are done press F6 and your crushes name will apear on the screen in big letters this is weird because it does work.If you break this chance you wont have a crush in the next five years
if MURPH sees this, I hope he rembers P. Brunt, the Luxtons, and me k.britton, playing road hochey on Orchardview drive :-) I am now in NY, but loved these guys. nice nostalgia for me back home in BOWMANVILLE! Proud Canadian here eh!
I'm not sure. I still have the tape! This year I got the 20th Century masters CD of the Best of Chalk Circle. It's good! It has alot of songs from Mending Wall. I just realized I said CD in my post!
My understanding is that Singer/Singwriter Chris Tait said he packed it in because it was starting to feel too much like an actual 'job' and that's never what he envisioned Chalk Circle to be...
wow..bummer...well, being from the States, and being familiar with only what I have posted here, I'd say that he had a great thing goin' back in the day...thanks for the info.

Under-rated Candian band... But when "Sons and Daughters" came out, they lost me.
I believe they were from Newcastle, Ontario and I think the lead singer lived in my building!

I think they were really influenced by Echo and the Bunnymen when they wrote this song. Both good band them and Echo

Who's the hunky shirtless guy at the 3.10 mark? Chris Wardman's son? Derrick and his diastema: my two favourite D's.

De La Soul's "Me Myself and I" is much better.

That also is a great song I agree, but those two bands have a completely different style and can't really be compared fairly.
jsbx5 5 years ago
Chalk Circle at their best! And also the most effective use of blinds in a music video!
MuscleJacker 5 years ago
I agree...great band...although I'm from the States and don't really know much outside of these videos I posted! I still liked their style a lot.
