Notice the D bag and pilot chute, this jumper had the option of pulling the reserve without cutting away (once below the hard deck), he had options that could have saved him.

the things that flashed through his mind at those last moment must be very sad and scary.

i pray to God this does not happen to me or any of my skydiving brothers and sisters on this Earth.

if it happens on my next jump i think i will just close my eyes, relax, go head first, and accept the fact that i'm going home.

This appears to have happend in the early 1980's or late 1970's. Chutes are different now and thanks to AAD devises like Cypres accidents like this are easily prevented most times. 2009 saw 68 fatalities out of 3 million skydives so statistically skydiving is no more dangerous than many other sports.

holy shit! Sometimes I think what the hell am I doing. Failing reserve after cutaway or main and reserve tangled together is my biggest fear. Then you have nothing to do, just keep your legs together and pray to god. But statistics show that there is 70 deaths each year in this sport, but only 4% of these are caused from a failing reserve. So it's okay to show these videos, but its bigger chance to win in a national lottery than this. Pack correct, and do what you are learned! Then your safe;)
