  • The brunette on the Doctor's far left is sooooo cuuuuute it is almost unbelievable! "If your luck"! Very very well done!

  • I live in America and have to wait far to long to watch the newest actual episode...does anyone know of a site where i can watch

  • Wow, I want those girls to bite me lol.

  • Love matt smith as the new doctor, but i am finding series 5 flat, lifeless and boring. It's like there is something missing. It feels as if my favourite programme is slipping away from me, a real shame.......

  • @FlyingEnglishman no way david tennant was the best doctor. and yeah i agree rose was not the best but she was still a gd companion to start of the series with. I loved davies he created the best programme in the world after it had been gone for years.

  • Matt smith is awesome, better than tennant.

Rose completely phailed as a companion, always being soppy and slowing the doctor down.

Donna was too sarcastic but I still prefer her to rose

Amy has got the mix just right, adores the doctor but also humours him

  • Still prepher David. The worst companyen was Martha Jones I'm stuck between the others for the best one tho.

    What do you think?

Sarah- Jane Smith, Rose Tyla, Donna Noble or Amy Pond???

Donna was definetly the most sarcastic which was funny. Rose was brillient. Serah-jane has her own show. And amy ermm, has all the qualatys plus more.

  • @SuperSmasher1 Curses a victim of my own argument :p. You're are absolutely correct.

  • He showed a library card with WIlliam Hartnell on it.

  • The new 11th Doctor theme actually fails.

  • @NinjaMatie it's more eerie and alien than tennant's. the 2008/09 version was too loud and overblown and completely misses the point. this version has a mixture of old and new effects from both series and balances it nicely, and matt smith has won me over as the doctor :)

  • Can't wait to watch this weekend.

  • The blonde vampire is a) really very good looking but also b) absolutely nails the unnerving stare while the Doctor rambles. Also like her curious look at the library card. I think this is going to be a good one...

  • Doctor who is a kid's show. My 7-year old sister loves the new show, the new theme, the new tardis etc.

  • Tell me the whole plan! *makes hissing sound* One might not work... PWND!

  • This guy is so GOOD, much better than i dared hoping for..I absolutely loved David as the Doctor, but Matt made the doctor his own from his very first scene :P

This is gonna be interesting ;)

  • I wished Doctor Who was on television in my coutry. Until then I will continue to watch it online at lastnightstvshows (.) com

  • @yaroonvarun Yes because Matt Smith is wondering about Venice making random noises and knocking things over. I really got that impression from this clip.

  • @yaroonvarun ..Oh, sorry. Your Talking about Matt Smith? For a moment there i was thinking you were talking about yourself.

While I'm well aware Matt is no tennant, thats why he works. He's a bit more like the classical doctors, which is by no means a bad thing.

  • wantwantwantwantwantwantwantwantwantwantwantwantwant

  • lol never said these were the best ever but true

  • episode 6?? i just watched the 11th hour for the first time in america here yesterday. and amy is so sexy, i love her

  • It's been a great revival for the show; 'Eleventh Hour' was outstanding but both the 'Beast Below' and 'Victory of the Daleks' have been lacking something a bit extra although both demonstrated new approaches and had something unique and different about them. I prefer the new tone, I think the writing is better and I think the imagination is very much there. 'Time of Angels' should give us a big show especially since Moffat and his incredible Weeping Angels return.

  • Wait a second.. the music being used is from Pans Labyrinth!

  • loves the new companion, she is nearly as good as rose, but a bit better than Catherine Tate. And way so much better than Martha, never liked her. lol. Matt is good, nearly as good as DT but better than CE. I like the idea of Vampires. And the series is so good so far, I just hate that I have to record it because I am at work.

  • @lbaynes88 Your comparing is wrong. In retrospect, not as many are fond of Rose as they are with Amy. And Matt Smith IS the Doctor!

  • @PrimusPrimal1995 matt smith is not THE doctor, there have been better ones, but yes there have been Doctor's that have been a lot worse than they Matt smith. And Rose was the best companion.

  • Loooooool . - Tell me the whole plan! LOOL

Love this doctor! Matt Smiths doin' really well :)

  • I don't know how anyone can hate on Eleventh hour, that was by far the best series opener by far since the series returned bak in 05 seriously i mean look at the rose episode I was embarressed to watch, series 2 new earth was very well done and series 3 smith and jones was brilliantly done, but then series 4 came with partners in crime and tht was garbage but eleventh hour owned the title of being the best series opener.

And Matt Smith is brilliant as the doctor, atleast its back to the basics

  • do u have any new series episodes?

  • these vampires are way better than twillight steven moffat atleast knows his vampires

  • @leothelion19 ..actually TRUE BLOOD has the best vampires!!

  • @leothelion19 I believe Toby Whithouse might've been more involved than Steven Moffat, but the point still stands.

  • @leothelion19 ...I hope your happy, because now all i can think about is the doctor appearing in the twilight universe and having to do battle with the cullens.

Wait, what am i saying..Thank you for that thought! Because, hell, the doctor would be able to beat the twivamps into next tuesday no trouble <P

  • lol "oh, this is christmas"

  • finally I watch Doctor Who without dreading the Oncoming Emo. There's finally the promise of adventure with this new Doctor.

  • Comment removed

  • "Oh, this is Christmas!"

  • i love the doctor's reaction when he sees that they are vampires! lol he had a face like ''okay,i'm outta here...'' and i always like to act out scenes of doctor who with me and my other nerd friends.Doctor who is my hero! oh and just for the record in Canada, we Canadians don't have BBC. we watch Doctor who on the ''Space Channel'' I can't wait until the new show comes on in Canada! Just a few more days to wait!

  • From what I can tell, and what I hope, I think they're using his age to their advantage.

  • When I was 11 and Sylvester McCoy bowed out and DW was axed I cried for a week, now Im 32 and that little boy inside me stopped only crying last night when I watched The Elevent Hour,my hero has returned.Thankyou Mr Smith keep up the good work.

  • Moffat really does strike the balance for male and female audiences, =D What do you say?

  • For those who replied to me, I am entitle to my own opinion as much as you are replied to yours. My opinion was based on a minute and a half of screen time and I could therefore only judge on what I had seen. When the series comes out perhaps he will surprise me and be completely different from what I suspect. Perhaps he will not. For those claiming he is better than DT how can you possibly tell from one minutes thirty seconds? There's no need to be so hostile. It's just a TV programme

  • Twitchyrabbit my head is not up DT's ass. I liked him as the Doctor but CE was my favourite. I have seen DT in many things and conceed although pleasant acts pretty much the same way. There was no need for such comments. It doens't take much to be civil.

SpeakFreak - yes I agree. I happened to hate the last two epsidoes. They made me roll my eyes, sigh and wish that the episode was over with. It was a nice idea though.

  • Wonderful! I love it. I think Matt's Smith portrayal in this clip is captivating!

  • I was originally a little put off when he said he wanted to explore the "darker side" of the character. Far to emo. But from this clip it looks as though he is staying more true to the character, excited by everything! So yea, I will give him time to adjust. I remember when Tennant took over, I was sad. Missed Eccleston sooo much. But Tennant grew on you, and hopefully Smith will as well.

  • @twitchyrabbit Time to grow up and let other people have an opinion other than your own. There are many points of view of equal validity.

  • Venice is the perfect city for Vampires !

  • @twitchyrabbit THANK.YOU ! haha

    completely agree !

I just hope he doesn't let us down now (:

  • like this comment if u think david tennant was the best doctor!!! or let me rephrase that, the HOTTEST doctor!!!!! <3 x

  • @VerbalEnigma thank GOD sum1 is human!! DT is a beast :P he duzz look very pale all the time doesnt he, haahaa idiot :P x

  • @VerbalEnigma thank GOD sum1 is human!! DT is a beast :P he duzz look very pale all the time doesnt he, haahaa idiot :P x

  • David was a good actor I'm sure it was really sad when he left but the new doctor who Matt smith looks awesome in the news series so thumbs up to him moffat and the new series

  • i love how on the card he shows him, its William Hartnell's (aka first doctor) picture!

  • I love this guy !!!!!in a 3 minute clip Im already won over.

By the way does any see a slight influence of Johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing here,or is it just me?.Superb, the TimeLord lives on.

  • haha! unimind vampires! brilliant! I also love that the psychic paper shows the first doctor instead of him

  • He's certainly got a bit of Tom Baker's Doctor in him

  • Looks like its not going to be a crappy series afterall!

this is really good, and im reemmbering that i didn't fall in love with the 10th doctor, but fell in love with the 9th doctor and all the stories related.

So, tennant or no tennant i lvoe dr who the same way :D ♥

  • I really wish people would stop going on about bloody Tennant. He was good no doubt, but he wasn't that great! Plus he's gone, get over it.

  • I am personally really looking forward to saturday. I remember looking back and having big reservations about david tennant being the doctor and he lit a fire under our arse! I acctually like matt smith, if you look at his previous work he is a VERY good actor and those who are rateing a whole series on 1:30 seconds of footage are just being short sighted and bitter that tennants gone and your looking for any reason to dis the new guy. I think he's gonna do a great job!

  • the inevitable curse of Matt Smith's Doctor: always being compared to the previous guy.

i'm not so keen on the whole "breaking the fourth wall" thing he pulls here with the 'one day thatll work', but oh well

  • if you've ever seen any of the moffs other work, you'll know he's got a track record so far with tv shows. coupling? awesome comedy. one of the best. press gang? even today that stands up well. jekyll?? brilliant little miniseries. what ive seen of joking apart makes me want to import it. now he's also known for casting lesser known actors as well. i think he's done a good job with what ive seen so far. he's more p davison than tennant imo...

  • A word for you haters: 1:30 seconds is not enough time to decide what you think of the Doctor. He's too complex for that. And stop whining about Matt Smith. They're not gonna

cast a complete idiot for the most popular sci-fi program ever. Now quit biting the hand that feeds you.

  • @teamjacobxful Of course you're entitled to that opinion, but there's no need to be nasty about it.

And sometimes change is for the better.

  • @teamjacobxful @teamjacobxful Do some research, mate. Doctor Who has changed all over the years it has aired. The Doctor, TARDIS, companion, Sonic screwdriver, theme tune, etc ALL change from time to time, to prevent the show from becoming boring. Doctor Who is all about change. If you can't deal with that, go watch another show. If you hate Smith because he replaced Tennant, you're NOT a Doctor Who fan, you're a David Tennant fan. And Amy is meant to be a feisty character, not a slut.

  • @Kaagh178 First of all im not your mate. and sorry but since when do u decide if im a DT fan Or DW fan..i know it changes, im just saying they shouldnt of cuz it was fine they way it was..they got it perfect then changed it!! ..And btw feisty and slutty are two different words meaning two different things! soo maybe you should .. BUY A DICTIONARY!

  • @teamjacobxful In case you weren't astute enough to notice (which you obviously were not) the 'mate' part was pure sarcasm at its finest. As for deciding what kind of fan you are, that's not my decision, just an observation. As for buying a dictionary, may I just point out that 'cuz' should be spelt 'cos' or more appropriately 'because'. BTW, I'm not saying it's bad to be a David Tennant fan (I liked the 10th Doctor), just don't slag off the new series because of it.

  • @teamjacobxful @teamjacobxful Very well. I respect that. We just have different opinions. Granted, I'm sorry if I behaved like a pretentious douchebag. But personally, I like the pairing of Matt Smith and Karen Gillan and what Steven Moffat has done with the show. It's retro but also modern at the same time. BTW, I am a fan of Inbetweeners.

  • @Kaagh178 my opinion of this argument is that you both need to chill. lol. I loved DT and I was a DT fan but I am also a DW fan so will give MS a chance. Coz I remember a time when I didn't know who DT was and I was so upset when CE left. And then I gave him a chance and he was brill. Now it's time to do the same again for MS.

  • @teamjacobxful he might be a good actor, but in DW, they're equals. And in retrospective, I think MS delivers the Doctor better, he's more upbeat and 'alien'. I've heard this said time and time again but, Doctor Who is about change, and if you can't accept that David Tennant has left, then maybe you should stop watching Doctor Who.

And don't be sexist. Karen Gillian as Amy Pond was a win. She's amazing, so I don't think you should be making rude remarks.

    Ciao.

  • @jrdennis95 can have my own opinion! Im a girl soo im not being sexist ..DUH! Im saying i dont like the way its changed! They've changed the theme tune and opening and the tardis .. im not alone cos in the newpapers it saying loads Of Dw fans were complaining about the way its changed! soo THERE! Who's the FAN NOW!!! :L

  • @teamjacobxful Allow me to prove you wrong on quite a few levels.

    One: Girls can be sexist.

Two: While a large majority of Who fans dislike the new theme tune, the TARDIS has received a huge amount of praise.

Three: You are not alone, no. There are always conflicting opinions. But you're using newspapers as evidence?? Seriously?

  • @Kaagh178 Do you know who you remind me of.. Will from inbetweeners :L :L :L (if you've seen it.. but it might be a bit too rude for you..and its way past your bedtime)

  • Aaahhhhhh!!!!! Yes! Can't wait !!!

  • I don't like him. He's cocky and arrogant and he's trying to be David Tennant. He started off that interview like David Tennant and he acts like David Tennant's Doctor. I am very disappointed.

  • Jeeeeeeze! He is not trying to be DT. Accept he is gonna be different. Stephen Moffat as main writer! He is the best writer and this will be great

  • @400willow I think you've got this terribly wrong. Moff has said that the new Doctor goes through many 'stages' in this series to try and find his identity. Plus I don't see how this is like Tennant at all, he doesn't once gurn. Plus its 1.30 of a non Moffat script.

  • @400willow Tennant wouldn't be this calm. he would look around the place like smith does, but if he saw the vampires he just shout something like 'brilliant' and go into a technobabble and try and figure out what they are doing in a way. Smith's doctor acts more alien than Tennant, he seems more doctorish, while Tennant usually acts like he has ADHD.

  • Why am I not suprised Toby Whitehouse wrote a vampire-episode? At least we know it's in good hands, with the brilliance of Being Human and all XD Also, am I the only one who was reminded of Jack Sparrow at some point in this video? (sorry for the awful english, I'm a Dutch Who-fan)

  • ha Jack Sparrow!

  • I hate to say it, but all I can hear is Tennant. "I am... LOVING IT!" sounds just like "You are... GORGEOUS!" from "The Girl In The Fireplace."

  • hmm... it's almost like they're playing the same character! I love DT's doctor, but I have a feeling Smith will be pretty good. Well, at least I hope so. Fingers crossed!

  • @greypilgrim26

Yes, they're definitely the same character, I admit! But DT went to great lengths, apart from 'The Xmas Invasion', when he was sorta playing CE's Doctor, to make his individual. And certainly one could not see McCoy sounding note-for-note like Baker (etc. etc.!). I hope Matt's good, too! We'll find out in a couple of days!

  • Comment removed

  • @speedfreakgoforself1

What do you mean, find "more" reasons to hate Matt Smith? I mentioned one similarity between Smith's delivery and Tennant's delivery, that's all. Oh, and concluded with "I hope Matt's good, too!" If that's what you consider my "reasons to hate Matt Smith", you need to chill the freak out.

  • @VincentTruman i know. it's that there's two days to go, and i've been an absolute wreck waiting for this series, and the trailers made me overexcited, so anytime i see any comments with a hint of doubt of Smith, i start trolling. you're right, i do need to chill the fuck out, because i CAN'T WAIT ANY MORE! D:

  • @speedfreakgoforself1

  • Definately going to take me a long while to get over Tennant as he was is in my opinion The Doctor, he got me totally hooked. On the other hand looks like Matt Smith has potential

  • @SolarXEmpire Don't worry, it'll be fine. Back when Troughton replaced Hartnell audiences couldn't handle their trustworthy grandfather figure being replaced with a daft clown type. That was before the idea of regeneration had even become established; nobody knew if it would work, but audiences still got used to it and the series became more and more successful. The main thing to do is let your expectations of the series change, and not get too stuck on the way things were.

  • Hartnell,Troughton,Pertwee,Baker ...Smith,in that order !!!!

The real Doctor has returned ,it only took ,Oh Thirthy years, give or take ,David Who? I ask.

    Less melodrama..more Sea Devils!!!

  • @Lumiel31 A bit too soon to say something like Smith is the first real Doctor since Tom Baker. But I agree that Smith looks good, and have absolute trust that Who is in the right hands with Steven Moffat. Personally I wouldn't want to write off Peter Davison, but Colin Baker's era was dreadful, and the programme was already off the rails by the time McCoy got on board. I don't hate RTD's era but I'd had enough. I'm hoping that the Doctor will be less fascinated by 20 year old girls now.

  • @CASPRPres Yer They can .. DAVID ALREADY HAS :) tahaha ! :P

  • love the william hartnel thing

  • I really like the language he uses. "Five slightly scary belles." All the people who think Smith is being like Tennant are on another planet - the 10th Doctor would never casually use a word like "belle".

  • Comment removed

  • I think it's smart that Matt Smith wants to evoke Patrick Troughton. Peter Davison, who was the youngest Doctor before, used to say that Troughton was the main Doctor he grew up with, and that he wanted to remind viewers of him. Steven Moffat's favourite era of Who was the Davison era with all the different rooms in the TARDIS, and if Smith reminds us of Troughton we may also be reminded of Davison. Looks like it might be a successful blend - a good way to seem young and old at the same time.

  • I think Matt is brill in this!

Reminds me of Troughton a LOT which is EXCELLENT. Better than Tennant to be honest. Sorry David.

Those girls are HORNY! LOOOOVE THE BLONDE!

  • take that twilight!

  • Original Photo in his Library Card ID. Ha!

  • he's ***

  • did like tennant as the doctor but so did I like all the rest. Doctor Who is about change. There is no point getting attached to any character as such as its all part and parcel of the wonderful sci fi show we have. Its not about how many girls will be able drool over him.

  • From a historical standpoint, we'll need to give him the benefit of the doubt for the entire season. I don't think ANY of the Doctors have ever been fully formed the first year or so.

  • nahh, that was shit mate

  • @MrsDavidTennant101 Sounds like you're a David Tennant fan rather than someone who'll give Doctor Who a chance without him. Your loss.

  • Comment removed

  • "Tell me the whole plan!" LOL LOL

  • I loved that he had his original (1st Doctor) photo on his Library card. :)

  • cool. liking matt smith already. hell, he's the doctor. of course i like him.

  • I can't put my finger on why, but Smith's Doctor is reminding me of Troughton a lot. Maybe a mix of 2 and 10?

  • @TorchwoodRI I can Definatly see where your coming from. I see 2, 10 and a bit of 7

  • @TorchwoodRI It's the tendency to fumble about I suppose :P

  • library card? With an old man's face... >>;; does that mean that's first first doctor's jacket XD

  • Old mans face? That is a photo of the first doctor.

  • @monkfarmer that's what i'm saying

  • LootzO:

Yeah, I thought that line was hilarious too.

Eleventh Doctor's lookin' good! Can't wait!

PS. People who can't cope with change -- sometimes radical change -- have no business being Doctor Who fans. Go find another pretty boy and leave the real fans alone.

  • Absolutely no-one should write off Matt Smith as the Doctor yet. No-one has even seen a full length episode yet for crying out loud. OK, well all loved DT as the Doctor but that ship has sailed and now we have Smith, a new Doctor, a new look. Liking Smith doesnt undermine what Tennant did. Tennant did more for this show than any actor since William Hartnell.

  • @ArthBHx for the sake of argument, yes. Because this doesn't suck. It's a great clip of tense music, new monsters and Doctor-ish attitudes.

  • Comment removed

  • my GOD, hes not acting like the Tenth Doctor at all. Have we been watching the same show for the past few years?

Ten would have instantly turned around and started shouting about how he was going to put a stop to their plans and how they were obviousy vampires.

    Same man, very different personality.

  • @diablo169uk

Yep. The Doctor's personality has changed over the years. Patrick Troughton was a nervous wreck; whereas Jon Pertwee was swave like James Bond. Tom Baker was confident; Peter Davidson was nice and polite. Sylvester McCoy was a mystery keeper.

I love the fact his personality changes over time. It gives each actor to play the Doctor something to make the character his own.

  • You missed the violence of Colin Baker and the romantic Paul McGann

  • @Wiggum1223 Well, I can see why he'd miss out Colin Baker when he's making a list of decent ways that the Doctor was defined in the past :-)

  • @feckingbillgates It's a wonder there are any Colin Baker fans, but I swear I've met some...

  • @14millionbc I think it's because there are a lot of Colin Baker haters, so other people want to balance them out. They think "well he wasn't THAT bad", and turn that into "he's under-rated". But unfortunately he WAS that bad. Because other things were wrong with his era, people don't want him to get all the blame. But he was rubbish - he played the character in one way, which can be summarised with this noise: "OOOLY OOOLY OOOLY OOOLY OOOL."

  • colin baker was good

  • @feckingbillgates lol good point, I still can't sit through any of his episodes.

But I've listened to a couple of his audio adventures, and when he's actually got some good scripts to work with he is a very good Doctor.

It's just the awful writing of his era that let him down.

  • @Wiggum1223 So much was wrong with that time. His costume was appalling for a start - it meant he couldn't go anywhere without being the centre of attention. And other decisions were awful (see the strangling in Twin Dilemma). A lot of the writing of his era is bad (not all of it though), but we can't get away from his acting being poor. He didn't have the range, and lacked any quality of being alien that's essential to the Doctor. "Can you shout and stride around? You've got the part."

  • @COOKiEOTR

Well, going from interviews with him, he's not a DW fan, hasn't seen much of DTs performance and from what he's seen his favourite Doctor so far is Patrick Troughton, which his influences are clear in this clip.

You fail in your comments. Goodbye

  • @COOKiEOTR David's overrated. a lot.

  • @speedfreakgoforself1 FINALLY ! SOMEONE ELSE WHO AGREES :D

  • "Tell me the whole plan!

    One day that'll work"

  • I love the way the Tennant fangirls have crawled back into their loved up holes after seeing how much more Doctorish Matt is!!!!!

  • AHH HE'S COMING TO MY SCHOOL NEXT WEDNESDAY GET TO TALK TO HIM AND WATCH THE NEXT EPISODE :d

  • one day after my birthday

  • did he bang them?

  • ffs

  • @teamjacobxful to me, this shows he has a strong possibility of being much, much better than Tennant. Sorry, but imo Tennant's overrated now. as soon as i saw planet of the dead, i wanted him and RTD gone.

  • @speedfreakgoforself1 Same here.

  • major lols

  • @1000guy1 then go watch the last three series! i thought all the tennant fans disappeared when they realised how doctorish Smith is. I liked Tennant to begin with, but after series 3, he became too shouty and predictable, overreacting and overacting to everything he saw, but that was nothing compared to his sham of a final episode, the end of time. when he turned into Matt Smith i breathed a huge sigh of relief. Now that RTD's gone Smith won't have to suffer the childish stories David did.

  • @LordThree I get a Nosferatu 'Count Orlok' vibe from the vampire teeth (which are more like Rat Fangs than the now traditional Bela Lugosi/Christopher Lee canine fangs of movie lore.

  • @manmiles Exactly. Biting teeth are the incisors at the front, and those are the ones that should be sharp for vampires.

  • @LordThree I don't know if you noticed, but Doctor Who wasn't made in the US. But it doesn't sound like you read very much, so I suspect there are many libraries in America that issue cards with photos, but you just don't know about them.

Also, do a little research and you'll see that the earliest vampire films put the sharp biting teeth at the front - in other words, correctly. Not all references are five years old. It's the later Hollywood movies that are all doing the same "popular" thing.
