@amusingisthedawn for optimal sound, there is honestly nothing wrong if he kept usin it other than slight sound change ( electronic trigger snare ftw imo )
@Level80irl rebound would be a problem...and I disagree, I like raw snare. of course, my subjective opinion is that you get true dynamics without triggering the snare.
Hard to believe how farm Krimh has come from recording covers with a 4 mic set-up in a small room to recording full songs in his apartment to being the drummer of Decapitated.
i know im probably gonna get hate for mentioning joey jordison on a death metal video, but i cant help noticing that the beat at 1:21-1:48 sounds hell a lot like the main beat on his disasterpieces dvd solo
@DrewFarmie2 First i'd like to say since I am not a fan of Joey Jordison, I haven't watched whatever beat you are talking about, so really I can't say too much haha.
About it being similar, that may be true, but alot of beats are going to be very similar as more and more songs are released, though they won't be identical.
"I don't like big drumkits" (Vitek said this on their preview of their second album) so you think he knew that or is it a sign that he is going to be a good choice. certianly has good style. (btw, of course don't try to live up to vitek , be yourself and everything but if he is good and plays with good style this is what decapitated is about)
@DethKlokateer thats exactly what i was doing dude the new album is going to be awesome i read a review of it and they said that the title track is like the Master Of Puppets of tech death metal
I remember the days when he had like 1000 subs on youtube, now he plays in one of my favourite bands and is on SIckdrummer.. well deserved my friend. keep it up.
@jamjestteo he's swifeling (i hope i spelled it right). It's just a technique like heel-toe. Most drummers who play that fast use it. Some say its more relaxing to swifel than playing 'normal'
@jamjestteo As has been indicated, he's using the swivel technique. There's no right or wrong way to approach double bass whether it be heel up, heel down, heel toe, swivel, etc., so yeah, it's just preference. Pretty much everyone's foot will swivel just a little bit whenever they play fast but people like Krimh and George Kollias employ it as an actual technique.
the pedal is czarcie kopyto which in english means devil's hoof. the first person to test it i think was inferno from behemoth also from poland :) i think the pedal is also Polish making and compared to axis or trick it's havier then either of 'em but still looks sick :)
@AllInDrummer i've been looking at many different pedals, i played the axis for cpl of years then they broke and i tought what the hell and tried the demondrives, now the demons has some really cool features but i didn't get what i was looking for, mainly because even with the springs at max i didn't get the pedals reponse that i wanted, now i was wondering how the springs are at the czarcie, got any idea?
@AllInDrummer Funny you should ask I(Anton, SDM) was in studio yesterday and happened to have a pair of Paoul From Vader's on hand (he has 6 sets). I have to say they were Amazing feeling I was surprised they were spring so smooth and great power, awesome Pedals imo. They are also very light and i can say very durable doesn't look like allot can go wrong with these.
@sickdrummerdotcom i've been wondering about theese pedals for a long time. They seems to have all the convenience features i've been looking for, plus the playing features, i played axis for a long time and kind of got hooked on that drive lever, taking it all the way back and have loose tension, just like shannon from TBDM made the pedal exactly what i wanted. That beeing said they broke down relativly quick without a case and i bought the demons, which i am not satisfied with at all.
@sickdrummerdotcom would you recommend theese pedals? does the setting on the "yoke" or whatever they call it translate to the drive lever on the axis? if so this is my dream pedal, cause it sure seems alot more sturdy, plus a case on the buy. And also are the springs normal or heavy duty, prefer the ability to really crank em like on the axis if i want to. Doesn't say anything about this on the website.
@sickdrummerdotcom got myself theese pedals couple of weeks ago, i wanted to find a replacement for my axis who didn't quite cut it when looking at durability, got myself demons, but after 6 months i couldn't get the same speed and controll that i did with axis, i got myself those gorgeous devils hoofs, and they haven't dissapointed me one bit, have about 60% spring tension and they are as responsive as the axis on 100%, but still maintaining power and control.
@BlastBrutality just around 6000 kroners, i'm norwegian you can look that up what currency that is compared to yours. But in my country demon drives are 6900 kroners and axis are 7-8 thousand, so still cheaper for me. i might add tho that i tried "kollias" settings on them with maxed spring and beaters far back and the springs broke, but luckily they sent me an extra spring with the pedals to begin with. Probably because it's a heavy pedal with heavy beaters and alot of swing.
@AllInDrummer dude i wish those pedals were available in the US!! they are bad as hell. the only pedal i have found that i like are my Iron Cobras. all the other pedals i have kicked around on are too floppy or to light. i want something with some balls!!!
Krimh, First of all, kick ass job man! I fucking love your playing, and the fact that you are in decapitated is awesome.
I started looking up czarcie kopyto pedals and was immediately impressed. I know you are endorsed by them, but how much are the twin pedals? I live in Canada so I am guessing it will be expensive as hell. If you can answer this, thanks! If not, it's all good!
I can't wait to hear you guys play here in India! We've been waiting too damn long for a gig with you guys on stage. I'm glad the band found a worthy replacement for Vitek. May he rest in piece and blast the horns off of the red guy! Cheers!

My comment might have came off as if praising the pedals over the Krimh's playing. Even if the pedals were shit this video would be awesome, Krimh is beating the shit out of those drums, the drumming is just tight, groovy, powerful and fast as well. I am sure Decapitated is going to kick our ass this year, sincerely think that the next album is going to be amazing. But those pedals do look great as well thanks for introducing them.
Ya know, its so fucking weird seeing this kid record with them. Ive been subscribed to him for a few years watching is Decapitated drum covers, and now he's their drummer. Goddamn
@TommyOwnzU Most professional studios will have a library of very high quality drum gear for the artist to choose from. At Radio Gdansk studios they probably have everything, judging by how the engineer chose to mic the snare, they know what there doing. Also if a drum kit is already at the studio the engineer will know best how to capture it.
AMAZING! This guy, now, in my opinion when you play really "speed of light" death metal songs, is very hard to have interesting arrangements , fills, rolls and play tight and strength, but THIS GUY have all together... the plays all notes high and clear.. you can listen to all details... and he is usin mics only... I loved it... congratulations man! I can say that you are one os best death metal drummers in this days!!
Awsome I started watching krimh here in youtube doing band covers and now look at him...I always said he was to awsome to just do covers although the other 2 bands he was in were nice but for him to be in Decapitated its sick and this is sick..:)

Awsome I started watching krimh here in youtube doing band covers and now look at him...I always said he was to awsome to just do covers although the other 2 bands he was in were nice but for him to be in Decapitated its sick and this is sick..:)

what does putting the blankets and matresses on the bass drums do?
MasonBangsDrums 11 months ago
@MasonBangsDrums
It's easier to record bass drums that way, other drums won't interfere so that the bass drum mic only records bass drum sounds.

@MasonBangsDrums Plus if you don't do it, you're bass drum sounds kinda hollow.

Just cause he's gotta change toms every second song doesn't mean he hits too hard.
