It's not flowing like it should be. It almost seems that Carly sabotaged it. The words sound as soldiers marching. Bump bump bump. This could have been a masterpiece but turned out like a woman scorned!
I personally love it....the three of them together...you can feel the love...the only thing missing is JT.... What a show that would be!!! Great genes.....
I think it's a beautiful arrangement. You need to hear it on Carly's CD "Into White." Man, Carly looks really good here.... and doesn't Sally look like Kate Hudson?!
yeah, the audio kills this video. as far as the paino, well, it's a compliment to the songwriter to perform their song with differant and inventive arrangements. any coffee house folkie can strum their guitar and sing this classic but they are only mocking the original. carly with her children harmonizing to a new-age piano sound is truely unique.
I agree -- a totally overblown arrangement of a tender, simple song. It should be lilting and poignant. This was plodding and overly embellished. Too bad.
Well, it's obvious that both the audio and video are not the best quality on this recording - it's not only the song, but when Oprah is speaking, too. A song performed live is never the same as the version recorded in a recording studio. This is a great song, no matter how (or who) any member of the Taylor/Simon family decide to sing it. In response to any comments made on Sally's poncho.....she actually makes these herself and they can be purchased through her website. :-)
love watching them together. unfortunately, the piano is too busy and way too out in front in the mix. i see someone on acoustic guitar in the background but can't hear it at all. ben sounds great
it's not near as great as a version i heard of james taylor and carly simon, taped in 1978- i wonder why she didnt do it that way? it is such a guitar song, i didn't like the piano. linda ronstadt did a decent version in 1974, too. and ben is a babe and his mike was way too low...just nitpicking, glad it is on here.
beautiful-i don't get the title..who cares what a person wears or how much hair is on their heads-their voices and family together are beautiful and so is the piano playing.

Not a good rendition. I've never been able to get past Carly's teeth. With all that money you'd think she'd invest in orthodontics.

i dont care for this arrangement at all. doesn't do justice to JT unfortunately - carly's still an amazing singer though....

Great to see this family onstage together, but the piano is DEFINITELY waaay too loud! You want to hear the voices and the guitar.

Did they just say "But I can't sing this song"?
Well they should have.

GAWD That piano was horrible! Close Your Eyes is strickly a guitar song, most definatly.
Too bad, i feel for them, the piano ruined it.

That was an absolutely horrendous take on this lovely tune (If it ain't broke, don't fix it). But seeing those three on stage together - a treasure.

Such a poignant performance - Carly with her beautiful children singing one of J.T.'s finest. Lovely rendition. What a bond music makes.

what a horrible version of a great song. Take a slow song and add depression and this is what you get. I think I'll go shoot myself now.

amen my friend... this is horrible. I was excited to see this but now I am not. They crucified this.
