I don't think it changes the fact that, for a particular organism and set of genes, there is a rulebook (even if that rulebook is the result of millions of years of natural selection.)
You should do some reading on facial recognition software development and how natural selection is deliberately implemented to create software for it. It's really interesting.

Unless i'm off on the data, facial recognition software was programed to do just that.
Did a facial recognition software ever identify a hand? or a foot?
Or: Did a vacume cleaning robot ever identify a face?
Think of the egotistical gene as the bassis for altruism (or specifically friendship)..

I've heared of genetic algorithms and would love to study it, first i have to learn basic algorithms... might take some time.
