Wrong moron! Think of the word "war", the literal or denotative meaning is "A state of often prolonged conflict carried on between nations, states, or parties." The meanings, implications and suggestions of what war really is would be connotative. It's all the emotions, death of loved ones and turmoil that is connotative. You can't just say the word "rat" and people automatically think of John McCain. Not only did you fail at teaching, but you failed at humor as well.
