This was one of the most heartbreaking and biggest tearjerking movies that I have ever seen, no lie. No, my husband will NOT watch, no matter how much I try to convince him that a love story is a love story, period (but ya know the male ego thing, he calls it that "gay cowboy movie", which makes me upset sometimes). It is that and so much more, unrequited love, and very sad. :( I watched it by myself on DVD and bawled my head off!!!

Lots of straight guys are like that........anything gay disturbs them and is distasteful to them. i know lots of guys who feel the same way........it's too bad really because Brokeback Mountain is one of the best movies I've ever seen......and haunting in showing what fear and intimidation and lonliness and old conventions can do to genuine love between two men.

And of course the acting was first class.

rickT5555: a lot of straight men are just like spaghetti...once you get them hot and wet...they'll usually become quite pliable! LoL Actually, I think a LOT of straight men that 'act' overtly homophobic have actually experienced same sex love/affection--you know what they say about the ones who sing the loudest in church...they have the most to hide (I'm talking from experience now...)
