  • @cocoon79, please be a hot girl and marry me. Please.

  • @junior311 sorry i´m a hot boy ;)

  • amazing work cocoon79, great video

  • I LOVE the little subtleties all over this album!

  • Does this song remind anybody else of the book The Wee Free Men?

  • Dude, what am I looking at? All appreciation and no "dis", but what does your video have to do with White Chalk-Polly Jean?

  • I listened to so many things, but finally this song has something the others songs don't have. I don't say that I keep listening to it everyday but, each time I listen to it, something happens. I think this is the purest song I ever heard. Well the chords progression is basic, but it fits perfect with her voice and the lyrics. There's so many things in this song, it's sad and happy, bright and pure at the same time... White chalk hills will rot my bones

  • yu kno evri time I walk long the cliffs of San Juan Cap, with the ocean roarin down below, I try to find white chalk on the ground, and I kik it with my tennis shoes and just think to myself, wow this ain't Dorset cliffs but close enough, PJ Roxx !!!

  • wow... amazing video man... very good

  • thank you very much! all of you;)

  • Great video and song!

  • Great video. You had a good idea :]

  • it does reflects the mood, but she could´ve been dancing on black and white as well with such backgrounds. in my opinion. nice work. :)

  • thanks! i also think its one of pj´s best records!

  • Wonderful video to an amazing song! An amazing & introspective artist. This has got to be PJ'z most haunting & striking work she's done so far. Even the album cover mirrors the music. Evoking images of a haunted Victorian ghost walking the hills of Dorset on a misty morning. Although I'm very fond of her guitar-playing..this album actually grew on me, unexpectedly. Thanx for the great vid.

  • Does this song remind anybody of Johnny Cash' "Hurt"

  • That would be the cover of the Nine Inch Nails song rather than Jonny Cash's song. A great song whoever sings it - Sad Kermit does an excellent cover right here on Youtube that is worth checking out.

  • When will you understand the original version of Hurt is not written by Johnny Cash but By Nine Inch Nails??? It simply kills me when people say that...Great song as always with PJ.

  • yap, its from NIN, peter murphy and Cash used to cover it

  • Nice job. The video really reflects the mood of the song.

  • beautiful song, beautiful video..well done

  • beautiul song, beautiful video....well done

  • pj rocks everybody sucks

  • This Song Stirs Such Emotions Deep Inside The Soul, So Seeing This Song Put Into A Video That Actualy Works Is Amazing. Great Job With The Simplicity.

  • if the current crop of 'popstar female singers' had a quarter of pj harevy's musical sensibilities and chops - the record industry overall would be a better forum for truly promoting their artists: instead we have insipid and dull artists like alicia keyes singing in that annoying 'american idol' false emoting falsetto a la queen of emotional fakery mariah carey... each day i thank the gods for pj harvey.

  • could not have put it more succinctly myself- bravo, and ditto.

  • Osa: Great comment :o) but none of those pop queens even comes a 1/4 close to Polly. Artists like Polly are rare. Why do we like good things? I guess because they are rare...Like Polly.

PJ is one of the best songwriters of all time (male or female). 5*

  • Hell.

    Freaking.

    Yes.

  • @Osa23 totally agree!!! And if they actually endorsed people with ACTUAL talent, then maybe they wouldnt be spiraling in the proverbial financial shitter as fast as they are. The correlation of dropping album sales and the rise of more and more crappy music is not a coincidence. If people truly felt a passion for the music they like, they will still buy the albums

  • @Osa23 I for one think that Alicia KEYS is an amazing artist and vocalist, and if you're so concerned about the way the industry is going why not do something instead of bitch and complain? Seriously, your ignorant comment really irritated me. I'm ecstatic there are different artists bringing different "musical sensibilities" to the table, 'cause if not music would be boring, dull, and -apparently- uninteresting as you have portrayed yourself to be.

  • @Osa23

Alicia Keys is a lot better than the other shit that's out there...

  • this song is magic

  • Where PJ Harvey meets Sufjan Stevens :-)

    The video is moody...

  • PJ Harvey meets Sufjan Stevens... exactly what I thought when I first heard it, robert9691 :)

  • pj harvey rocks, sufjan is ____________

  • Great video! =)
