  • They lived together like adults but yet they acted like five year olds.

  • you can see earnie cam well prepared lol

  • They never should've went to the beach.

  • This makes me laugh every time I see it. The comic timing is impeccable...

  • There were quite a handful of Ernie and Bert clips regarding planning. And this is one of the earliest.

  • I see Bert & Ernie are both wearing cool sunglasses.

  • Ernie even had his umbrella for just in case it rained, as it did.

  • It's a good thing Bert & Ernie brought everything they had to bring as they were planning their trip ahead.

  • In English Ernie sounds a little bit stoned

  • lol radio yucky music lol marching....VERY funny lol TYVM umbrella lol

  • jajaaaaaaa i just love bert and ernie

    cuz their so funny

  • I can't believe how much Bert's head wobbles. I never noticed that as a kid. Ol' Frankie musta got carried away! ;)

  • i like the was ernie's arms and hads are so human-like! his hands can hold and grasp things just like humans! amazing!

  • they are human hands

  • Ernie is so funny!

  • where are Ernie's nipples?

  • that's inappropriate but so true.

  • Ernie's a total pimp in those sunglasses

  • Music comes on and Bert says, "SWING!"

  • Ernie has some Soulja Boy Glasses on!

  • He's always been known as a trendsetter.

  • Noticed in the beginning of the clip, the background of the sky has blue with a black area on the left. That practically gives away what is going to happen.

  • lmao

  • Before Transistor Radios did people bring vacuum tube radios to the beach...?

  • "I brought my umbrella, Bert, so I could get zapped by lightning!"

  • Does anybody know which Sesame Street DVD has Bert's "6" song?

  • you know ernie also brought his sun glasses

  • So Hillarious.

  • I take it that since Ernie and Bert live in NYC, they are at the beach on Long Island?

  • The funny part is that I saw this one on "Shalom Sesame Street" in Hebrew school. So while Bert talked in English-Ernie spoke Hebrew!

  • I was glad to watch this in English for the first time in years.

  • Yeah This was the first time I saw this skit in English completly.

  • yep- I remember this one. Another Ernie and Bert classic!

  • Is it even SAFE to open that umbrella that close to water on a wide-open beach during a t-storm? LOL

  • hahah very funny!

  • I'll say, which Ernie and Bert sketch was your favorite?

  • That must have been the fastest-moving rain storm on record.

  • At first, I thought the one thing Ernie brought was his sunglasses

  • I remember this one but haven't thought about it or seen it for almost 30 years!

  • Transistor Radio?

  • That was way before boomboxes, iPods, et al., but Ernie played his cards right. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!

  • Yeah Ernie should've just said "Yeah well, I brought my iPod so I can listen to MY yucchy music."

  • Yes, they called them "transistor radios" back then. Radios before around the mid 60's had tubes in them (instead of integrated circuit boards) and took up quite a bit of space. The word "transistor" was eventually dropped from the name after the technology wasn't new anymore (sometime in the late 70's)
