  • I don't believe in souls, but I feel almost sick when I'm in a city.

  • Momarh Kadaffi should be forced to watch this movie then he will see what an insignificant stupid bastard that he really is

  • Humans aren't the virus- it's CIVILIZATION. Not all humans live this way.

  • What takes us into this "metaphysical journey?" Why for others it would appear to be an absolute void... Yet time again there are those persons who "experience" a remarkable shattering "spiritual experience" that is left unquestionable! A sensational film that displays the use of "iconic spiritual & religious nuances". One that will leave some questioning the "meaning of life forever!"....

  • Whats the best way to purge a few billion people from this planet?...

  • Jango Fett's bomb from attack of the clones. From the scene in the asteroid belt

  • Cool! Thank you for making this movie.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Anyone know the name of the song on at around the 7:50 mark?

  • is that wilson's arch?

  • True, Baraka is an awesome piece of art, Koyaanisqatsi and Powaqqatsi also! Those movies inspired me to make something similar about the country I've chosen to live in. Here in NZ ppl don't realise what they have got... Unfortunately! We gotta wake up ppl those who still rape and shape the planet every day... I could post the preview to ma movie as a video response if you want?

  • is having faith in logic a bad thing?

  • those comments are interesting lol first video ive seen where comments catch my eye : O but very nice video keep faith in the human race!.... or at least have faith in something

  • I am trying ;)

thank you for the good words !

  • what is the song at 5;40

  • 10:14 is a good bit

  • The part that starts at 7:43 has always been one of my most fave shots from Baraka.

  • yes, i admit that the way most of us act is nothin else --VIRUS!

Optimistically, we can still hopelessly transform the dominant virus to be as an earth-friendly tumor, I do hope..

  • Very nice, music goes well...relaxing

  • humans are a virus on earth

  • But as a final note, I say fuck it. The world will end sometime anyway. We will all die. And by knowing this, I choose to live it up to the best i can with no regrets. Though I know the future of mankind will be hindered by my selfish acts, they aren't going to complain to me. They'll complain to eachother just like you are. And If I'm still alive, I'll simply say it was a different time. Sorry you guys, but i just don't buy you spiel. Being 100% pronature cant function in the world today.

  • yeah, but the question is, is the way that we are going right now is right? there could be perfect world if (with all tehologies and science)but the problem is unconcious of human.

  • The idea that humans are a virus is vague. Humans are mammels. Our bodies change based on the environment it exists in changes. If much physical activity is needed, the body will change to handle the stress of the new environment. However, the power of humans to implement ideologies and ways of life that do nothing but consume everything in sight is what has made humans such a threat. I think that people have not yet come to understand their impact on the world.

  • To steven02101989:

The human race becoming like a "global pregnancy" is a far better metaphor. A pregnancy has obvious purpose. It's supposed to grow. All parts of it grow. It's supposed to "bulge," and bulging with new life is so beautiful. It announces a wondrous "birth "to come. It speaks of hope and future changes

I read somewhere somebody said that "Gaia is pregnant," and really does want/need to have this "baby." I don't like term "Gaia," because it reeks of earth-worship

    But pop denser

  • hehe you again.

this video is true - mankind is a cancer of this planet as agent smith says in the matrix

beautiul natural landscapes ... spoiled by our cancerous urban decay & also agriculture

global one child policy is required to bring Gaia back to good health

  • To walter0bz:

So what if mankind is a "cancer?" No good ways to stop the spread, so let cities grow larger, closer together, more numerous.

But how many times do I have to explain, cancer is not the right metaphor, but rather more like a "global pregnancy." Cancer is destructive, natural increase of humans is CONSTRUCTIVE. God put the nature desire in our hearts to seek humanity's multiplication and increase.

Pregnancies must progress! Somebody said Gaia is pregnant and WANTS/NEEDS this baby.

  • Nah, mankind is just taking a massive shit all over Earth, not really constructive, but I don't give one so hey.

  • To lolwallace:

So you don't give 1 so hey? Huh? Have you given any thought to the consequences, if the universe was to listen to your stupid opinion contrary to the interests of people?

Humans aren't constructive enough for you? So instead of 8 survivors of the great Genesis flood, you would rather it been 0 survivors? Then where would you and I be?

It doesn't bother me that huge cities grow huger and closer together, and growing towns and villages spread in between.

    NWO cabal that's EVIL!

  • To lolwallace:

Just because you may have difficulty seeing the great precious value of each and every human soul, doesn't mean it's not there.

I see no reason why the numbers of people alive, having to take a shit each day, growing year by year in numbers, should bother me, so long as people can get indoor toilets within their homes, one of the most basic inventions that makes functional huge cities possible.

Even in nature, life spreads where it can.

Even growing cities have much beauty.

  • To walter0bz:

What good are beautiful natural landscapes, if there aren't people to see them? And what if humans behaved better and built more beautiful, well-designed cities? Would you still then whine about "cancerous urban decay?" And if you haven't noticed, quite many country people seem to like agriculture, well at least the old traditional family farm

Not only would a global 1-child policy be tyrannical, but also stupid. Who would want 100% of children born to parents with no experience?

  • To walter0bz:

You do know there are other videos on YouTube, that say things like Gaia is pregnant and really does want/need to have this baby?

Of course the whole concept of Gaia is problematic, as false religion leads to false conclusions.

But here's some logic for you. Since God commanded people to Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth, that makes God responsible to provide the means to do so, and also to determine the extent. A great reason why I do not believe in "family planning."

  • 'gaia' /'pantheism' is a quasi religious idea which is closest to the truth that nature is a giant information-processing, energy burning engine. your 'god' is one of many ancient approximations to this 'truth'.

    'god' == 'nature'.

who knows, maybe 'gaia' has a hive mind, just as your own 'soul' is simply information flow in electrical signals between neurons. Speed up time and visualize how DNA branches and gains complexity.. maybe the world has consciousness on a higher plane than ours

  • To walter0bz:

Gaia is false religion that denies God created nature, the world, people. It seems to redefine the relationship between all those things, to elevate nature into being a false god or idol, and to ignore the true God.

The idea that the planet is one big living organism, has serious flaws. With swelling # people sharing the same world, the planet becomes a bit more like a "crowded spaceship," but that metaphor doesn't work well. Because God is to be worshiped, not nature nor planet.

  • "The idea that the planet is one big living organism, has serious flaws"

    more going for it IMO.

e.g. - nutrient cycles. every 7 yrs, all your atoms are replaced via your enviroment. So just as blood flows through your veins, material flows through the whole of 'gaia'

Have you not heard of Occams razor? you need to take it to your bible :)

  • To walter0bz:

Have you heard idea that you have to have MORE FAITH to be an evolutionalist? The science lacks to show how evolution could work, so one must accept evolution upon FAITH.

Occam's Razor would show the Bible to be true, because evolution doesn't work, and other religions are sloppy counterfeits of Christianity.

A world without God is UNSTABLE. Either life isn't possible, or it "evolves" into people and into gods, and then some God disallows any rivals. Monotheism all over again?

  • To walter0bz:

What do you know? Seems even the ad sponsoring this video, doesn't agree with you. Although, their motive may be less altruistic than mine. Seeking more people alive for more profits, not so much so that more people can experience life.

The ad was for (Big Pharma) Viagra. Like guys don't get it up easy enough already? Viagra okay for encouraging more humans to enjoy more sex/procreation. However, isn't it natural to get weaker erections with old age? What's so wrong with natural?

  • you all contest how you are pro-nature, yet you sit on you're brand new Dell computer exploring a website meant only to satisfy what TV can't. I know we all need to do something to prevent the compilation of human errors from becoming too great for the planet to take, yet what can we really do? With how this world has slowly progressed and mutated and how quickly the human race has become less ignorant but more apathetic, there is really no answer for fixing this hell-bound story of mankind.

  • People like us, who still "explore" are threatened with extinction? There you go. There's a practical reason why people with ears to hear, should be encouraged to mate naturally, and enlarge the human race for the greater good of the many. I figure those most convincable to multiply more people, tend to be the best sort of people to be having children or more children.

Another great and curious thing about having children. Children see the world as "magical" and teach us to marvel/explore again

  • The earth would be pretty much pointless, without humans to occupy it.

Yes, I also detest the unhealthy obsessions with brain-rot "entertainment," with people stopped thinking, people stopped exploring, people stopped searching, people falling away from their historical and religious roots and upbringing, to chase after the worthless sparkling glitter of the devil.

Not everybody is yack-yack-yack on their cellular phones all day, and drugging their minds with Rap. People like me still explore.

  • I despise the selfish "party til you drop" hedonistic mentality. Stupid TV "reality" shows disgust me. Oh, they are all "lost," but the camera crew knows where they are. Stupid fake drama. Don't pretend so much that it's real, when we know it's a stupid in-your-face act.

I wish somehow that Rap-is-crap could be banished from the earth. What noisy cultural pollution. Can they at least find a story to tell, and make the words comprehensible?

I detest apathy. And TV shouldn't be for dumbing down.

  • Reaffirming the natural pronatalism of our ancestors, which we seem to have largely conveniently forgotten, and welcoming the natural flow of human life, and shunning the unnatural nasty shoddy contraceptives that aim to prevent possible precious human life, would do much towards encouraging the populous masses to live together in peace and harmony, and even to help each other out more, from time to time as we find opportunity.

That humans have grown so numerous shows us to do something right.

  • No, it was DrinkingRobot2 who claimed that the feeling from the movie is very sexual. Too bad YouTube is vague on showing which comment replies to which one.

I am pro-life, and in many respects, I don't see humanity as "destroying" the earth, but enhancing it with our naturally-growing numbers. I don't make the bizarre unnatural distinction that some enviro-wackos cling to, of "the natural" and the supposedly "unnatural" human-built cities. I see "nature" and man's "nature" as being integrated.

  • Painful truth.

  • for the cells on your body you are the world, the planet. in the same way humans are the cells on this planets. unfortunatly there are some humans that have more agression, conquest and other viruslike features about them.

  • Ahhh...nothing like a good old dose of reality.

    Nice music btw.

  • Very nice! Thanks.

  • Allthough most humans are peaceful, living in harmony with the earth, the viruslike humans, exploit, and destroy the world, knowing the final result will be death on the planet. viruslike people has an urge to infest, multiply and finally destroy the host. such as sexual transmitted viruseses.

  • Well done, very well done.

  • Excellent!

  • Humans are the most successful organism on this planet, unfortunatly, there has been cases of virus infestation among us. Ergo, there are people out there plotting to infest, multiply, and finally destroy this planet, and all life on it.

  • What are the first two songs?

  • 1. Jonn Serrie - Planetary Chronicles I - The Auran Vector

    2. Donnie Darko (The Score) Michael Andrews - Manipulated Living

  • Thanks, the first song just chills out so much.

  • great film :))

  • Great film. 10x

  • Ive always seen these at the vid rental store and wanted to check them out but just havent, now I definitely will.Nice vid thanks.

  • the quatsi-trilogy is very good, but Baraka is still the best, its hard to top

  • check out the qatsi triligy if u like this bad boy

  • very good!!!!!!

  • First coffee of the day + this presentation = powerful. Excellent sound track, simply perfect.

  • Marvellous, enlightening, horrifying.Makes me feel guilty about being a consumer...etc.

  • The feeling from the movie is very sexual.

  • I thought the movie helped to show the proliferation of humanity as all the more completely natural and to be expected.

Human population growth is beautiful, as it allows so many more people to experience life.

If nature could have its "preference," nature would prefer growing cities teeming with people, especially if people would have respect and concern towards each other.

I wonder if you claim that the feeling from the movie is very sexual, also promotes the natural pronatalism I advocate?

  • I've always known I'm insignificant, but now I feel it. This was beautiful, heart-breaking, hypnotic, and an eye-opener. Great job!

  • stunning...

  • very nice!
