Nah it didn't take the entire 5 hours. Some of it was shader testing, Setting up 3 Point lights. I'd say rendering was 3 hours. But it wasn't my computer, it was my computer at a shop. My laptop has since rerendered this in 7 minutes. Without radiosity obviously.
heh, 10 hours make it sound like you were a complete noob when it comes to 3d modeling. But hey, it looks OK I guess. You have to admit though it doesn't look as great as it could for ''10 hours of work''.
Ah that explains. The modelling time could still be cut down though, but since this is just a showcase and not a ''speedmodeling'' challenge I'll just keep it at that xD
Your arrogance blinds you. I never said it took 10 hours to render. I said it took 10 hours to complete. About 2 hours on modeling, the rest was spent experimenting on lighting and the such.
The only thing necessary for rendering was modeling it correctly than adding textures onto it.
There are also much more powerful renderers out there so you could make it look very realistic (in a mario sense).
To make the camera move, just make 2 scenes, the very beginning of it, and the end. Then make it do a slow transition from scene 1->2. Lastly, use something like fraps to record it and edit it out.
very nice my friend. I like the lighting. This is the 4th or 5th 3d mario that I checked out...but the first one with actual 3-d lighting and textures. I like it a lot!!!

I did a 3d model of some mmorpg game being destryoed ^-^

5 hours to render 0.o since it took you 5 hours to model it and left over hours is five so i assume that it took your computer 5 hours to render 0.o.
My computer can render that in 10 minutes or less and let me tell you that it's UNDERCLOCK, yes i am sure.
I'm too mean xD but anyways nice job.

well 10 hours included rendering, lighting and everything. modeling itself took about 5. I definitely could have done better though, thank you

wow that was quite good. i prefer mine though--its an almost exact replica of the original, made in blender 3d

would have been better if mario ran through the level with enemies and all of that. but nice job, anyways.

This took 10 hours to render? This could EASILY be done real time..
This isn't a crack at your skills.. it's a question about what made it take so long to render.

You do know the same model could be done at sketchup.
It is much easier to do it in it as well.
finalfantasiest1234 3 years ago
Sketchup isn't for 3D modeling and rendering. That's more of an amateur program for Drafting.
HurriKane1200 3 years ago
Actually it is made for modeling.
The only thing necessary for rendering was modeling it correctly than adding textures onto it.
There are also much more powerful renderers out there so you could make it look very realistic (in a mario sense).

Also, I know doing something like this is still hard in most professional software.
Besides, I'm 12, and I know doing this is time-consuming, i just said a way of doing it more easily.
5 stars for working on something that still is cool.
