Man that was a sickening thud. She was a beauty and I thought you flew it quite nicely. Sorry about your loss man. I know stuff just happens when you fly these things long enough but damn, that sound would have sent me to the pub that night.
one golden rule. If you build a scale heli, learn to fly scale and not fapping it around the sky until it's naggered like a raptor. Looks ugly when not flown smoothly.
@WeasleFireable Think he said 15,000, and even then that sounds a bit much, more like 10,000, but there is a lot of time and afford to build one like this.
I've seen the same problem on a vario mechanic for turbine like this one. the tail rotor was micoupled in low altitude, so the pilot was unable to void spinning. But most of the time, this is due to physical constraints applied to the rotor itself. A little trim down would have saved this one. So bad for you, this was a beatiful heli and a good pilot too....
Sorry, To see that happen. Your Helicopter inspired my friends and I to Scale RC Heli Flying. It was a great ship to see in the air. The first video we saw of you, You where flying that ship with that rc scale helicopter team and performance was great! That Mountain Dew design and scale flying style set the goal level for my friends and I. I hope there will be more videos on your next projects.
There was no issue with the heli or the blades. This was caused by a failure in the Radio control system, where battery power was lost to the radio. Hence no fail safe and no power to the servos. As a result the blades went to full pitch and stalled.
Oh Dear!! Nobody likes to see that happen do they?

Maybe if it had a Coca-Cola logo on it maybe it wouldn't have crashed. :)

@MUSTANG408W you could be right there but I reckon it was because it was green. green is unlucky apparently. Lucky there was no horses racing.

This sounds like the same announcer from the B-52 'The big buff" crash. I'm starting to think he's a jinks for expensive models.

that was a shame, shows the importance of setting a failsafe as jetcat and vario recommend, nice flying...
