that next to the last caller was about to finish explaining a good idea for Alex to use or someone else could run with it, but Alex cuts him off at the beginning. He always downplays other peoples ideas and does not explore them. Alex will always claim that he is proactive and comes up with "real solutions" after being challenged by callers about this when he does not.
