I might be getting braces in a few months (I'm 13 by the way) but I still have 12 baby teeth. I only need braces for my adult teeth which are the 6 top front teeth because they're kind of crowded and my canine teeth are high up, would I still be allowed to get braces? I eat loads of sugary things and it feels like they're never going to come out. I really want braces.
@Beth240398 When Maggie got her braces she only had 6 grownup top teeth and four grown up baby teeth in the front and they let her get both an appliance and braces. Don't eat sugary things to make your teeth fall out! It doesn't work and it's bad for your teeth and health. good luck!
It's a good thing that when you realize that your teeth is gonna come out badly at a young age. If you get braces at an old age, and your teeth had gone horrible, I'll tell you, so much spending will go into it and also, pain.

@huntergirl0911 This is the second time someone asked what SPAM is so here goes: SPAM is a ham and pork meat that looks kind of like the square ham you buy in the packages, but it is in a tin can instead of plastic (kind of like a tuna can). It is VERY salty and is ready to eat out of the can cold, but everyone heats it up first in a skillet. You can chop it up and mix it with eggs or have it in a breakfast sandwich. It is huge in Hawaii where they have SPAM contests. Thanks for posting!

@flipandflygirl That's the youngest age I heard of someone getting braces. I didn't even lose my first tooth till I was 7! Now I'm 14 and I'm getting braces today.
Well, it will kind of hurt but after a few days it will get better. And when they put it on, it doesn't hurt because it's just glue on your teeth. Well, I mean, what could possibly go wrong?If it hurtsth next day, ask your mom for Tylenol. P.S If it does hurt the next day, it's a good idea to eat soft foods like eggs,and yogert. Good Luck!:)

@mommyboo1 Yes, it is an expander that opened her palate up on the sides to give her teeth more room, she now has the appliance AND braces and after they come off (OCTOBER 5TH!!!) she will have to keep a retainer in for 6 months strait, then just at night. Her Ortho says this is "phase one", we don't know if she will need a phase two or not. My opinion: Since her cross-bite will be fixed after phase one, we don't need phase two, we don't need perfectly straight movie star teeth. Good Luck!
I'm sure hoping not and will get a second opinion before I go ahead with it. If the Orthos say it's cosmetic, then no, we won't do it. If they say it's for improved function, then we will. Thanks for posting! :#
It's just a regular ortho appliance, without the bars on the side and she got braces put in four months later in the front. Hang in there kiddo, I'm sure it will loosen up in a few days.

This helped both me and my daughter understand the process, if any is needed, so we could be comfortable in knowing that it is safe and relatively painless. I don't give out any personal information, but the best thing to do is ask the moms at your child's school what dentist they use and do they like them. Referrals from people you know are the best way to find a good dentist. Good luck!

Well, it will kind of hurt but after a few days it will get better. And when they put it on, it doesn't hurt because it's just glue on your teeth.
