Deion tried to fake his emotion during his HoF speech. "FOR MOM MOMMA, SHE WORKED IN A HOSPITAL...." Deion was ashamed of his mom for working in a hospital? GET REAL DEION, YOU SUCK! Even his momma wanted to slap that punk bitch -- Darrell even owned DEION with the HoF speech. I totally saw Deion going all fake with his speech, he tried to pull his best imitation. Again it was transparent.
I'm a G-men fan and I watched D. G. a lot, D. Green was one heck of a ball player. Till now I always said it was his speed, I stand corrected. God bless that man and his family. Very classy and a true pro.
One of the most loyal and dedicated men to EVER play the game. It was never about the fame or the fortune for him, for Darrell it was truly about the game...no one will EVER match him in ability, talent, heart and loyalty. God Bless you Darrell....you da man!!! GO SKINS!!!
One of the best corners to ever do it.. I was a corner in High school and when they gave me the chance to pick my number I knew it was 28 because Darrell Green has always been one of my favorite players..
It was amazing that Darrell Green played as a long as he did. The reason why he played as long as he did not because he was good but he never eate junk food.
He eate very healthy which is the key to keeping a long career.
Sorry Captb55806 you are wrong. There are many others in the NFL that eat very healthy and never end up playing half as long as Darrell Green. Most athletes slow down naturally in their early to mid 30's. Darrell Green's secret to longevity was that he was one of those genetically superior athletes that come along only once in a generation. He was still running as fast as anyone in the league at age 40. He was also very lucky to have not suffered a catastrophic injury during his long career.
God bless Darrell Green and all the lives he has touched and will touch. Keep following the Master - we can all learn about the Game of Life and Running the Race from guys like him.
gbrady8 - You telling me Darrell Green lacks virtue means nothing. Show me. Please post a link, or at least post the URL to some kind of reliable documentation detailing Darrell Green's business related ethical abuses. I searched, and found nothing. And to the other cynics hatin' on Darrell Green... no worries. We'll see who's legacy lasts longer in the scope of human history ...and I've got an inkling it won't be yours or mine.
Much respect to the Cowboys fans and others giving credit to my favorite football player ever. I grew up a Redskins fan and while I hate the Cowboys, Eagles etc I still give them respect when the game is over. He might have been little but he his speed, heart and passion for the game made up for his size. Dr, I remember those plays as well but I think its more impressive that a Dallas fan remembers them too. NFC East= 11 Super Bowl titles, best division ever. :)
He may be a man of God. But he's also part of an investor group that has stiffed hard working contractors of $3.4 million. I guess money is more important than doing the virtuous thing. Fox 5 Investigated this and there are clips of this on YouTube.
If you watch this and you say the only thing God gave him was football talent. I say read the whole Bible get a Study Bible. Then come back and make a statement. But when judgement day comes. You can say no one told you because I just did through YOUTUBE! It aint too late for your PRIORITIES.
While I'm a big Cowboys fan, there's no denying that Darrell Green was the best cornerback ever, in my humble opinion. Respect! I'll never forget that rundown he put on Dorsett or that infamous 4th down stop against Minnesota. I was always impressed with his sudden burst of speed to break up a pass. He was awesome, both on and off the field! A true inspiration. Hat tip to the Green family. God bless.
This was a GREAT speech. Thank you for acknowledging where you received your gift and talent from: God. "Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." Jeremiah 33:3
Darrell Green is the oldest player(42yrs, 327days) to have a gain of 35+ yards in one play in any fashion(return, rush, reception) and the only player to intercept a pass in 19 straight seasons. He is also tied with Jerry Rice as the only other player to record at least one touch in 20 straight seasons.
@VAboiGREEN84 you are the luckiest child to grow up with such a father. that man defined integritey, intellegence, and had the best attitude on life ive ever seen in a nfl player or for that matter anyone. godbless you darrell and your family and thanks for the great years of SPEEDING our skins to victory. we love you darrell!
Your dad is one of my favorite players of all time and one of the greatest football players of all time. I'm sure he's one of the greatest fathers of all time, too.
i was there last night, floor seats section 34,row 1, seat 13 and 14. sat 5 seats away from chief by the white tent mid field. his speach was great, first class all the way. im watching the game and seen mason tear up the colts defense. i dont know why he is on the practice squad. i seen him play in college at y.s.u.
As a die hard Niner fan this was a great speech and was very inspiring and great story. I love how he did it and to me it was waaaaayyyyyy better than Irvin's last year. Congrats Mr. Green on makeing it to the HOF.
this is the greatest speech i have ever heard
