Italnians,Irish,German, Polish Americans Etc have all a plenty served in the armed forces ass well, but do you see any of those nations pulling the same excuse demanding American Statehood?, lets go ask italy if they wana be a state =0
@VivaBoricua93 I definetely agree with you. Especially when you consider other important issues surrounding the reasons why Puerto Ricans serve in the military. One of them is unemployment and the other is the fact that some of them see it as a easy way out in order to not go to school. I'm not judging, but using the participation of Puerto Ricans in the army as an argument for statehood is not only superficial, but also ignorant.
"Freedom for Puerto Rico will prevail, and we will be masters of our own destiny." Mark those words... that is the ultimate destiny of every nation which seeks dignity. Viva Puerto Rico libre!
So well spoken. I wonder that the others said..am sure not as powerful. Am sure Fortuno will work with kid gloves and bring the tired coin of PR serving in the armed forces.

@VivaBoricua93 yeah, except they're not territories whose residents are full US citizens subject to military conscription.

Nothing! Ruben's eloquence is outstanding. These little politicians in Congress can't hold his shoes. Puerto Rico sera libre....tarde o temprano.

PR deserves it's own sovereignty, whether a republic or in association with the US. A Spanish-speaking state is a futile dream of some.
