I recommend the medium size fitness hoop that you can get at
bodyhoops
Perfectly weighted. check the sizing information to be sure that medium is what you need. save $5 with coupon code "youtube" at bodyhoops. You will have more success with this hoop because of the weight and size, the toy store hoops are for kids and won't work for adults. Happy hooping.
ya im a dude and i do this for cardio, 30 minutes. and i will walk around in circles doing it haha, ill be honest i dont know how im able to do it..but ya this is a good warm up, and your really good at it haha
Oh my LORDY, woman, I just thought hula hooping was just spinning it around your waist! I cannot believe you were able to move around like that while still keeping the hoop going. I'm thoroughly impressed. Question though: do you think you could post a visual of you hooping from the side so we can see the movements and how large/small they are?
This was very educational; thank you! I'm excited to try it! =]
hi! I've been hula-hooping recently - but I've been using a light-weight hoop (the ones you get at Toys-R-Us). I've got the hang of it, I can hoop with it for a long time without difficulty. But if I want to trim my waist up, do you advise a heavier hoop, or should i keep using the one i have? thanks! x
@1lovebonjovi1 I've noticed that using a lighter hoop requires more effort and movement for it to stay up and keep going around so it takes like 15 mins to start really sweating. A heavier one is easier to keep up so I dont understand why it is better to use for a work out. It also cases minor bruises at the beginning.
@DTplusPP - @1lovebonjovi1 - A heavier hoop is easier to keep up, only because of the momentum. But your stomach having to push out to keep the hoop moving is what makes having a heavier hoop more helpful for working out. It causes you to have to push harder, especially during resistance moves like when you turn around backwards (counter to the direction the hoop is spinning) while inside the hoop. Don't get a SUPER heavy one, but a thicker tubing hoop is good! =) I use mine all the time!
Hey, i have been hooping for a year now, im not sure how heavy my hoop is but i hoop a weighted hoop for 30 mins each day, how many calories will this burn and will it help my stomach tone? does it do anything for wasit and hips too? Please reply. x
Hi, glad you are enjoying the hooping. Its important to do your hooping practice 5-6 times a week consistently. By challenging yourself to include more footwork and arm movements makes your hooping session more aerobic. You will develop core strength and tone the entire body with a regular hoop practice, nutritious diet, plenty of water and rest. Have fun!
HI there, glad you found this video useful. Your 2 lb hoop is a great place to start, especially for strength training and waist slimming. Start with 10 minutes a day and gradually work up to 30. I don't recommend a hoop any heavier than this, the benefits will result from how aerobic you make your hooping practice. Integrating arms and footwork will make this a more cardio workout. Have fun!
I can only hula hoop in one direction :/

If you work out for at least 1hour hula hooping, push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks... non stop....how much weight can you really loose in a week?
I would also ask, what's the best time to work out?
I usually do it around 8pm I get to lazy to do it in the morning! Thank you :)

How heavy do you reccomend the hula hoop to be?
And, does it have to be some kind of special hula hoop or can you just use one of
those cheap ones?
