Etobicoke's less than 15 minutes from the downtown core. It isn't considered GTA like Mississauga. It is Toronto :). No one from Toronto would call Etobicoke a "city" either. You're not from Toronto.

I lived one block above the worst area of Toronto, and those few steps put me in one of the best neighborhoods in Canada. Go and spend a few day in the city first and get to know a few locations and pick one based upon the shops, restaurants, parks etc that you like and find something that way.

@michoBboy67 How much of the States have you seen? As a Canadian, I've travelled throughout the States along with many other countries. Crossing the border into let's say Niagara Falls, NY (a ghetto) doesn't require you to know the US. The US, like our country, is extremely diverse.

i am from london uk and right now i am loving every second of my time in toronto. i think this city is absolutely gorgeous. i am a bit frustrated about the public transport though, it is not extensive at all. things like mobile and internet are not as cheap and pervasive as uk and they are quite expensive compared to the services they provide. but people are a lot nicer and freindly and the lake ontario is out of this world. this is a great city to live in.
@taniahurley are you still in Toronto? If you are I urge you to go check out bluffers park, in Scarborough. Even go to the top of the bluffs over looking Lake Ontario. That's where I live, right at the top of the bluffs and the view is amazing.

I would say no, just because it is the dead of winter. The fall season can be especially beautiful because of the changing of the colors, and the summer..well it's summer, everything is good in the summer. You should try and get out onto the lake, go sailing or something. It really puts the size of Lake Ontario into perspective. It is practically an ocean! Where did you stay and what did you do while here? It will help with what I give as advice, in case you already did that. you feel me?

Obviously MKGxx was not aware of how important the two waves of Jewish immigrants were to Toronto and not only is there a thriving Jewish community but a lot of those immigrants helped make Toronto the great city that it is today.

@michoBboy67 How much of the States have you seen? As a Canadian, I've travelled throughout the States along with many other countries. Crossing the border into let's say Niagara Falls, NY (a ghetto) doesn't require you to know the US. The US, like our country, is extremely diverse.

i am from london uk and right now i am loving every second of my time in toronto. i think this city is absolutely gorgeous. i am a bit frustrated about the public transport though, it is not extensive at all. things like mobile and internet are not as cheap and pervasive as uk and they are quite expensive compared to the services they provide. but people are a lot nicer and freindly and the lake ontario is out of this world. this is a great city to live in.

@taniahurley are you still in Toronto? If you are I urge you to go check out bluffers park, in Scarborough. Even go to the top of the bluffs over looking Lake Ontario. That's where I live, right at the top of the bluffs and the view is amazing.

I would say no, just because it is the dead of winter. The fall season can be especially beautiful because of the changing of the colors, and the summer..well it's summer, everything is good in the summer. You should try and get out onto the lake, go sailing or something. It really puts the size of Lake Ontario into perspective. It is practically an ocean! Where did you stay and what did you do while here? It will help with what I give as advice, in case you already did that. you feel me?

@oridniv There's an org that rounds up the homeless people in winter and puts them in a shelter. My neighbour works with the homeless. After a while you begin to see the same guys. I see the same homeless guy constantly in front of the AGO

You can't say the US sucks unless you've visited quite a lot of it, and sorry mate but each city in the States is unique just like here.
